I ran the same route uphill and downhill in the same time. In both cases, I got the same number of burned calories.I am very disappointed that MotoACTV has this poor level of calculations/algorithms for such an expensive device.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI recieved the Motoactv for Christmas. I was just getting into using it for daily routine baselines when the calorie and steps stopped displaying on the time screen. I noticed this occurence in the morning and thought it was a daily reset issue and it might clear it self. However, 2 days later the steps and calories are still not displaying. I was thinking I could have accidently changes a setting. I have played around through the settings and can't find a selection to turn those on or off.
View 1 Replies View RelatedSince there is no way to bypass a sensor for indoor spin class, I had to set my MA to stairstepper. I chose SS over Eliptical because I assume that the MA device would look for foot movement (to calculate calories) instead of arm movement (because the notes specifically say not to grip the stationary handles on the eliptical). Anyhow, I completed a 60+ minute spin class at vigorous effort for at least half and had an average heart rate around 75% and it said I only burned 300 calories. I know that 1 hr of spin burns close to 600 calories..does the MA device take into consideration the type of exercise chosen (e.g. stair stepper) and uses that activity blended with HR and motion to calculate the calories burned? If that is the case, then MOTO needs to do two things: 1) allow users to bypass sensors for exercise so they can still capture the proper exercise and not a "general" one and 2) create a "general" one for quick start options if someone doesn't care to record the activity type. It all depends on how calories burned are calculated.In the meantime, which activity should I use for Spin class....if the hands don't move, I would think that eliptical is not a good choice. What about running or walking...does that use arm movement also? Overall, would love a little more info on how the measurements are calculated.

This morning when I went to put on the device, Steps Count was at Zero (As Expected) and Calorie Count was at 3500. I would tyically see a count of 500 - 600 in the morning. How does someone reset their calories burned and steps taken on their motoactv? Mine says something to the affect of 1200+ steps and 2000+ calories burned... but I imagine that's because it was in my car when I went to and from work. I never used it beyond that and testing at home.
I'd imagine the factory reset will do it, but I don't want to have to start all over again. You would think there would be a simple button to reset those stats.

View 13 Replies View Related I had a great workout this morning, but when I was done, the calorie count was at 111. I worked out for 50 minutes and was expecting this to be at least 600.
When I uploaded the data, the calorie count stopped at about 10 minutes into the workout and the distance also stopped incrementing. I had heart rate information, but it was much lower than what I expected (I was working out much harder than the heart rate information shows.).
The image shows the results of the data. what could have caused this malfunction of the device?
Is it just me or is anyone having problems with data syncing to the Motoactv.com portal today?

View 14 Replies View RelatedI've owned the MotoActv for two month, I got the mysterious "moisture issues" that everyone seems to be getting even though I've never used it in the rain. But the thing that is driving me nuts is the music. When I hit random shuffle of all my songs, I hear songs I don't want to hear... song that I do not own on my computer. Where are these songs coming from? Today I heard "Boot Scoot Boogie!" I abhore country music as does my wife. Doing a computer wide search shows no evidence that the song exists on my computer. Yet there it is playing in mile four. Other mystery songs have showed up too. The performance music playlist seems to be filled with songs I never heard of, yet evidently I perform well to them.

In the building where I work it will not pick up a signal anywhere - not at my desk, in the kitchen, the stairwell .. nowhere.My previous phone, Nokia E63, never had less than 4 bars and oft 5 and picked up a signal anywhere in the building even , and appologies for TMI, when sat on the loo.So is this the norm with the Razr ? Is it not great at picking up signals and should I see if I can swao to a different phone - a colleagues Smasung Galaxy S 2 has no problems getting a signal, or might there be something wrong with the one I have in particular ?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI only live 1 1/2 miles from an AT&T tower and the reception I get with my Iphone is horrible, dropped calls and the signal is 1 to 2 bars. I would like to hear from someone that is using an Atrix HD phone that is at least 1 1/2 miles from a tower and find what kind of reception you are getting before I spend $450.00 to purchase this phone and find that I am know better than with the Iphone.

The current signal strength readings are: -113 dB, ecno: -18, rat: 3g. At the AT&T store, which is right next to a cell tower, their demo Atrix has -52 dB signal, while mine varies between -62 dB and -88 dB. They tell me not to worry about the signal strength unless I'm dropping calls, but conversations are often unintelligible even though they're not dropped.

It can't even recognize me saying "yes".My previous phones were a WinMo Treo Pro, preceded by a Palm OS Treo 750. Both had decent voice recognition. I was actually impressed with the WinMo recognition quality, although the functionality was limited.

View 10 Replies View RelatedI am now on my 3rd droid 4, all have had issues with the ear speaker (speaker used when making calls and holding handset to ear) The 1st phone was the worst but I also had it for the longest. All phones started out perfectly clear but progressed into poor speaker sound. If you switch it to the hands free speaker during a call the persons voice sounds perfect but the ear speaker produces a static scratchy noise whenever someone is talking to you.I absolutely love the phone except for these speaker issues, I just want the thing to work correctly. Again, it is the speaker, not a connection issue seeing as the hands free works fine, I have also tried changing the bands in the program menu (##program)Im to the point where I am about ready to jump ship and give the razor maxx a try but I would really rather keep the 4 as I WANT a physical qwerty.Looking for answers, others that are experiencing the same problems, and possibly hearing that motorola is aware of the issue and has corrected it hopefully stating which serial #'s may have new better equiptment (speakers)

Among other things, I make extensive use of the GPS, which until recently was excellent - even post-905 it was extremely accurate, locked almost instantly, etc.Since approximately the leap second (correlation does not not necessarily imply causation, but it's not a bad first guess), GPS has been problematic - much slower locks, longer to get an accurate fix, and fewer satellites (GPS Status often shows 3 or 4 locked, when before it would show at least 8 or 9 locked)When using navigation, it used to lock within a few seconds. Now I'm often driving a mile or two before I have a lock, but once I have a lock, it's working fine. I've tried clearing the cache, re-seating the SIM, multiple power-off and power-on cycles, and verifying that I have the absolute latest AGPS data. I could try a warranty replacement, but there's no point if this is a known issue, especially given the hit-or-miss nature of Verizon's refurbished phones.

When camping where we've always camped without any phone issues, on two seperate occasions, she was unable to complete a call to me. I have comparred the photos and videos taken off of the Bionic to my wife's HTC Rezound and the Rezound pictures are far superior? The Bionic produces pictures with very little contrast and performs badly in low light conditions. The Bionic also produces a white haze around the borders of pictures in some photos. See photo below. I am wondering if this is a defective camera or a problem on all bionics?

View 8 Replies View RelatedI updated my Razr Maxx on Monday. Tried doing it sooner, but was getting the bug where it wouldn't validate the update. Ever since my signal strenght has been much worse than before. I no longer get signal in some places that I go for work that I had no issues with before. In those I still get signal I have issues connecting to data where I never did before. Even at home my signal is much worse.I realize that ICS displays the strength differently, but the way it displays should have nothing to do with actual usability. Can hardly use my phone at all anymore while working whereas I had no issues before update.
