View 5 RepliesI recieved the Motoactv for Christmas. I was just getting into using it for daily routine baselines when the calorie and steps stopped displaying on the time screen. I noticed this occurence in the morning and thought it was a daily reset issue and it might clear it self. However, 2 days later the steps and calories are still not displaying. I was thinking I could have accidently changes a setting. I have played around through the settings and can't find a selection to turn those on or off.
View 1 Replies View RelatedSince there is no way to bypass a sensor for indoor spin class, I had to set my MA to stairstepper. I chose SS over Eliptical because I assume that the MA device would look for foot movement (to calculate calories) instead of arm movement (because the notes specifically say not to grip the stationary handles on the eliptical). Anyhow, I completed a 60+ minute spin class at vigorous effort for at least half and had an average heart rate around 75% and it said I only burned 300 calories. I know that 1 hr of spin burns close to 600 calories..does the MA device take into consideration the type of exercise chosen (e.g. stair stepper) and uses that activity blended with HR and motion to calculate the calories burned? If that is the case, then MOTO needs to do two things: 1) allow users to bypass sensors for exercise so they can still capture the proper exercise and not a "general" one and 2) create a "general" one for quick start options if someone doesn't care to record the activity type. It all depends on how calories burned are calculated. In the meantime, which activity should I use for Spin class....if the hands don't move, I would think that eliptical is not a good choice. What about running or walking...does that use arm movement also? Overall, would love a little more info on how the measurements are calculated.
View 2 Replies View RelatedProblem Description: My device did a sw update last night. This morning when I went to put on the device, Steps Count was at Zero (As Expected) and Calorie Count was at 3500. I would tyically see a count of 500 - 600 in the morning. When I took off the device last night it was at 3100. So i am assuming that the unit did not reset the calorie counter at midnight.Any Thought MOT Guys?HW: MOTOACTV 8GBSW: MA 1.6.13 N8

View 1 Replies View RelatedDoes the calories burned counter on the home page (where the timepiece is located) include the calories you burned during your workouts? I thought it did, but when I check my calories burned before I work out, then after, the math doesn't compute.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI must be busy this mroning. My Actv is reading 31343 calories burned and 2887 steps. Anyone else having funkiness like this? Just sync'd and it really messes up my Wellness charts.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI can't imagine this hasn't been asked before, but my search-fu isn't doing too well on these forums. How does someone reset their calories burned and steps taken on their motoactv? Mine says something to the affect of 1200+ steps and 2000+ calories burned... but I imagine that's because it was in my car when I went to and from work. I never used it beyond that and testing at home.
I'd imagine the factory reset will do it, but I don't want to have to start all over again. You would think there would be a simple button to reset those stats.

View 13 Replies View Related I had a great workout this morning, but when I was done, the calorie count was at 111. I worked out for 50 minutes and was expecting this to be at least 600.
When I uploaded the data, the calorie count stopped at about 10 minutes into the workout and the distance also stopped incrementing. I had heart rate information, but it was much lower than what I expected (I was working out much harder than the heart rate information shows.).
The image shows the results of the data. what could have caused this malfunction of the device?
I'm having a complete brain fart.... but for the life of me i cn't remember where to turn off teh all day tracking option.
View 9 Replies View RelatedStarted today with 11,316 calories already expended and I haven't even put the watch on. Tried turning off and back on. Turned off tracking and back on. Turned off and powered off then back on and enabled tracking. Still at 11k calories. There doesn't seem to be any way to reset this.

View 4 Replies View RelatedSo i went for my run yesterday and about 3/4 miles away from finishing the MA start acting up. It was saying i was running at a ~6mpm pace. i know for a fact that i wasn't! Then suddenly i was done, I would say less than 1/2 mile away from target. at that point I was so tired that i didn't care that much. but i do care now. On the route map i can see where it all went down and the MA stop tracking my distance. not sure why it happened, but its the first time.
View 1 Replies View Relatedjust finished my run on the .73 version for the first time. The device battery definitely lasts a little bit longer -- still dies close to 3 hours. Won't last all the way through my marathon training. That said, a couple of other things also happened. I added the Garmin foot pod to the devices linked to the MOTOACTV. I also have the Jaybird Freedom 3 as a bluetooth headset connected. Two things happened:
1. Approx 1.25mi into the run, i went to look down at the watch and it stopped tracking. I didn't hear anything in my ear -- no "workout stopped/paused" nothing. I heard it "workout started" when I began.
2. With the Garmin foot pod my avg. pace was higher -- than using the MOTOACTV without a pod (just the gps) -- is that normal?
3. About mid-way through the run, my music stopped -- i looked down at the MOTOACTV and noticed the bluetooth icon was gone (i.e., disconnected). I'm not sure why, i checked my headset and it was still on.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI too am a former Droid X user who has been upgraded to a DX2 due to the numerous problems with the Droid X Gingerbread Firmware updates.
I have seen this GPS issue mentioned in another thread and in other forums so I know its not unique to my device, but it was buried in with a lot of other issues and thought it deserved its own thread, which might raise awareness of it for Motorola.
I use CardioTrainer to run, and although the overall location seems to be accurate in "Gross" (my run started and ended on the correct streets) the track showed me "jumping" all over the place in approximately 50 ft increments. This resulted in my 6 mile run showing as 10 miles long! And the pace per mile was similarly incorrect. At this time I do not seem to be experiencing the East/West bug, although I will confirm that by using the Google Nav app the next time I am in my car (just activated the phone yesterday). Additionally, I turn off wifi and bluetooth, leaving on celluar radio and GPS to improve stability before starting my runs, as well as, doing a fresh reboot. These steps seemed to increase the chance of completing a run with my Droid X.
This is a major component of my use of the phone, and I really enjoyed having an all in one, mp3/radio, gps, phone, that assisted me on my runs. I cannot yet comment on whether the X2 is more stable than the X, due to my limited time with the phone.
Is it just me or is anyone having problems with data syncing to the Motoactv.com portal today?

View 14 Replies View RelatedI've owned the MotoActv for two month, I got the mysterious "moisture issues" that everyone seems to be getting even though I've never used it in the rain. But the thing that is driving me nuts is the music. When I hit random shuffle of all my songs, I hear songs I don't want to hear... song that I do not own on my computer. Where are these songs coming from? Today I heard "Boot Scoot Boogie!" I abhore country music as does my wife. Doing a computer wide search shows no evidence that the song exists on my computer. Yet there it is playing in mile four. Other mystery songs have showed up too. The performance music playlist seems to be filled with songs I never heard of, yet evidently I perform well to them.
