I am usually an optimist about my DX2, and have also been one of the minorities, in that, my phone has been very dependable and stable, but I think my luck may have run out. When I tried to unlock my phone, my phone went straight to the voice command prompt. Then when I was able tp exit out, I attempted to open the browser, the phone started to flash the website address, then proceeded to FC. I haven't done a factory reset on it quite yet, and I would love to avoid that, if possible, but I fear this seems like a problem that is rectified with it.
I just received my x2 yesterday. When gmail arrives on the phone, as soon as it appears on my computer it disappears from the phone. Is there a setting i need to change?
For the past 2 days, my phone's (it's a refurb) been acting up. It would freeze and then I would have to perform the obligatory battery pull several times. Today (11/5) my phone would turn on, I would be able to use it for a short time (when I say short, I mean a few minutes) the phone screen would go into battery saving mode, and then If I tried to wake it back up, nothing would display on the screen so I then again tried the obligatory battery pull. What can I do?
i bought an unlockedDroid 3from ebay. When i inserted my sim card in the cell,it says activate your phone servicei press activatethen it says starting with the area code please enter the number you are calling abouti dont know what it means
Anyone else getting the message that the update is not available when they try to get it from thier phone? I've been trying since the news was published and no luck.
I find that sometimes when I go to wake my phone, it is totally off and will not wake at all. Also, it sometimes still has the LED flashing but attempts to wake it by pressing the menu button or on/off switch don't work at all and the only resolution is to do a battery pull.Anyone else having these issues?I am also very disappinted with the speaker volume. I had an original Motorola Droid and that speaker was loud and powerful. This speaker is pitiful. There's no use using it as an alarm clock. The vibrate doesn't work half the time either.
I got my droid 3 about 25 days ago and I was pretyy happy with it - it's a great phone. However, recently, I can't put my phone into "Sleep." When I do click sleep, the screen goes black, like it should, but I cannot bring my phone out of it. THe only way I can turn my phone on is if I plug it in for charging or if I do a battery pull.Is the phone defective, or is this a known software issue?
Is there an Android phone that can be used for testing Android applications loaded directly to the phone from a development environment through a local wifi connection without signing up to a carrier network?
Over the last couple nights I've noticed that my Turbo won't charge overnight. I often read or play games before bed and it seems if I have a few apps open and then plug it in it won't charge. If I close all the apps down then I've never had a problem.
I've also noticed it freezing up at times and then rebooting by itself if I don't close open apps.
The phone is great and at this point I don't care about Lollipop. We've had 2 S5 go bad with Lollipop and until they get the bugs all worked out I'll keep munchin the kitkat.
i just installed the the outlook app on my droid turbo.when i send an e-mail, the recipient see's that it is coming from my e-mail address (@hotmail.com) how can i change it so that they see it is coming from my actual name instead of my e-mail address?
Any reason why all of a sudden I am not getting notifications when I am on my home WiFi? It's weird, and I can't find a setting that would be causing this.
I traded in my droid maxx and tonight while disabling some apps I noticed under apps, all. That there is a demo app. I never saw it on my maxx. The disabled was grayed out so I forced stopped it. When the rep brought it out at the store it was a new unit sealed.
I am using SwipeDialerPro as my dialer app mainly because I wanted a dark themed dialer (the stock dialer is just too darn bright). I know you can set the default app for messaging (I have set 8SMS as mine).
When my Droid rings, most of the time I am unable to swipe the unlock thing to the right to answer the call. What is happenning? For everything else, unlocking the phone works normally.
What's the process of unlocking a phone and is it even advisable? It's a Moto Droid. I know someone at work that might be going to China, they can buy SIM cards and use them locally for a lot less $$. Is this something that can be done by a back-alley hacker in Hong Kong and would Verizon later detect that the phone was unlocked? Who here has done it?
I'm pretty sure that this problem started after the Memorial Day Gingerbread soak.Although, it's possible that it started after the mid-August Gingerbread fiasco.I can be sitting at my computer desk in my house and receive a Voicemail notification, only to learn that it was for a call that never rang or vibrated on my Droid X perhaps a quarter of an hour before. This has happened numerous times, while most of the time, the phone rings and calls arrive correctly.
I noticed that the phone knew that it is placed in a dock (vs a charger) and it also knows what type of dock it is (Car, HD, etc.)How does it work, is it custom USB wiring? a magnet?
I just purchased a Bionic with the car mount. I can only put the phone in car mode with the mount. I don't have a Car Mode Icon. I would like to go in to Car Mode without putting the phone on the mount. While in the car I made some settings default, like the Music, and I would like to undo this but can't find a way to do change it.
Since I've updated my razr maxx with ICS, my phone has been heating up more than Gingerbread. I have no apps running in the background. I also have been having problems with 4G cutting out and I will have to go into and out of Airplane mode to get data access back. I have received the official update:
When I open my Phone App, I have Favorites, Recent, and Dialpad catagories. What was Motorola doing NOT putting Contacts in the Phone app. I'm really unimpressed by ICS and actually prefer the previous OS.
Bluetooth functionality doesn't work well. There's so much idosyncratic about this OS that I personally do NOT like.
It seems that this release is typical of a manufacturer letting their user base beta test the OS for them.
I'm having an intermittent issue of having no sound on phone calls. The call will go through, but there is no audio. I restart will usually help the issue. I have alrady done a factory reset of the phone hoping to alleviate the problem but it still happened last night.
I have a Droid X and I recently decided to upgrade my sd card to a PNY 16gb card. For some reason, every time I add music to the card I attempt to play the music and it might work fine but after a few songs, the phone slows down and freezes. I've added music to the card a few different ways and I keep getting the same results. For instance, I initially put the card in the phone and formatted it and connected it to my pc with the usb cord and transferred songs that way had issues. Then I used a card reader and formatted the card on the pc, loaded up songs then installed the card into the phone had issues. The only time I had a little 'success' was when I added songs via usb to the card little by little. I added 2 album and used it for a little bit and it seemed fine. Then I added 2 more albums and it seemed ok. By the time I hit about 10-12 albums it got bogged down and the phone froze up on me. I don't know if this matters but in each case I'm just creating a folder called 'Music' and I put all the songs into it.
I'm not sure if the 16gb card is too 'big' or if maybe the type of card I have is wrong. I've also read some stuff about 'media scans'. Does the phone automatically scan new files that are on the sd card and by adding too many at a time the phone just slows down to a crawl?
My phone will intermittently power back up after I power it down. I would say this happens 50% of the time. After I push the power down button, it vibrates as though it is powering down, goes dark, and within 30 seconds I hear the Droid startup sound without me touching it
I have a roadster for my car which I love! My problem I am convinced is the phone. When I hit the button to voice command, on the roadster (call) no problem, works fine. If my phone is idle for awhile, I hit button on roadster....nothing! I have to turn my phone screen on.....put in my unlock code, then voice command from roadster works fine again. Once the phone time locks it stops responding. Having to pick up the phone and unlock with code every time I want to make a call kind of defeats the hands free idea. Incoming calls never a problem. This happens even if phone is streaming music the entire time. If I do not first unlock phone it does not respond
Check engine light came on in my car and I wanted to see the code. Downloaded a free app called Torque and got a bluetooth OBD2 adapter on ebay for $28 and it's amazing. You can not only see and clear codes, but it will give you performance estimates, track your sensors to GPS you can see where it was that you hit a certain problem. Best use of a Droid X yet. My problem was a loose gas cap, tightened cap, cleared clodes and avoided a 60 mile drive to the dealer and probably a $100 service charge to diagnose the problem.
