Motorola Droid X :: Selection Of Text No Longer Brings Up "slideable"?

Jun 2, 2011

Tapping on a word highlights the word, as expected. But the "tabs" NEVER appear to allow for sliding left/right over a selected word. Instead, the phone now prompts me to copy, cut or paste. I only get a single TAB that doesn't have a left & right sliding ability - just 1 solid block of a TAB. This happens in every app, including the Google search bar, Gmail, Docs to Go, Note Everything, or any other program with a text entry field.

Something changed - after the initial SOAK, this behavior was working as expected - and I actually liked it. But I did a "Clear Cache" as a test for some other users having other issues, and now that (slideable tab) feature is GONE. I can't find a setting to enable it or bring it back.

Motorola Droid X :: No Longer Vibrates When A Text Message Is Received

Mar 29, 2012

I just noticed this, and I'm not sure how long it's been happening, but I can't find any setting to get the phone to vibrate when I receive a text message. I can have it make a sound or be silent, and the phone vibrates just fine when I get a call.

Motorola Droid Turbo :: SMS And Email Text No Longer Shows In Status Bar

Since updating my phone SMS text or the email sender no longer shows up in my status bar. I just get the notification icon. Galaxy S6 :: Can No Longer Access Service Mode For Band Selection

May 18, 2015

As of Yesterday, I was able to access the band selection mode on my S6 by keying in *#2263#. However, it seems that I am no longer able to do that. Why this is the case, and is there any alternatives to accessing this function? I received a software update this morning, so I am wondering if that had anything to do with it.

D2G no longer gives notifications. Volume is all the way up and notifications are activated. It almost seems as if they are using us to beta test their software.

Xperia Z5 :: Text Selection Not Working In Some Apps On Phone

Jul 3, 2010

I love my new Z5 compact but it seems to me that Sony changed some stuff regarding text selection (I guess due to the text lense they added). Beside that I don't really need a lense (who does?) it changes the behaviour and leads to some really annoying limitations when working with documents in some apps.

Example: Evernote (because I guess many users use it)

Try to select more then one line text :-) Works on several other old and new Android devices... not on my Z5 compact sadly.

Motorola Droid 2 :: Camera No Longer Works?

Aug 22, 2012

I have found that whenever I try to take a picture, it looks like it worked, but then I click on the image that appears in the corner and it shows the last picture that I took before this one (from over a month ago). The picture never actually saves.

I have tried turning it off, removing the battery, then turning it back on. I have tried deleting old pictures to clear up space (the phone says that I have over 5GB of space). I have tried giving the camera extra time before trying to view the picture.

However the "Ok" button is missing on the left lower corner of the screen while "Back", on the right, is active. Further probing brought up another problem - I can see all my contacts on my phone but cannot find the contact folder nor can I backup my contacts.

Motorola Droid 4 :: Gmail No Longer Pushing Notifications

Apr 16, 2012

Last Friday my D4 did a forced reboot out of nowhere, which resulted in the Data Manager somehow turning off the "Data Enabled" feature. It took me an hour of no internet/data connection to figure out what was going on.

Perhaps related, since then, Gmail no longer auto syncs or pushes messages to my phone. I have to manually refresh in Gmail for any new message to show up. This failure is highlighted when I am sitting there with my Xoom and my D4, and my Xoom gets mails all day long over 4G/LTE, but my phone is silent.

I have been all through my settings and can't figure out why Gmail won't autosync anymore.

Motorola Droid Razr :: HD+ Video No Longer An Option

Jul 17, 2012

I was running short of space on my MicroSDHC card. I had about 1.5 gigs of storage left on the card. I went to take a video and noticed that I could only take a video in DVD quality or worse. There was no longer an option to take video in 780p or HD+ (1080p). I thought that happened because I didn't have much space left on my SD card. I later purchased a 32G Sandisk MicroSDHC. I thought that I would get back my HD and HD+ video options back after I installed the new card. This did not happen. I no longer can take HD+ video anymore. My settings in the video record mode no longer list HDor HD+. how to get the HD settings back? I tried clearing the cache and data in the camera app, but that didn't help.

Does motorola offer something simular? Or do we just have to get a new device once the battery is dead?

Motorola Droid Razr :: Flash No Longer Works In ICS?

Jul 15, 2012

I am not at all happy with ICS. To me, the upgrade to ICS is a nothing more than a bunch of pretty colors and a few new animations. In actuality, however, I think that the upgrade delivered little in terms of improvements. In fact, I wish I could undo the upgrade and go back two weeks, to a time in which I felt the Razr Maxx was virtually flawless and was the best phone I ever had.Elsewhere in this owner's forum I have written about the way in which business contact names are now scrambeled in the contact list. Others are having problems with battery life, overheating, poor navigation, etc. However, the biggest failure of the ICS upgrade, as I see it, is the loss of the ability to view Flash encoded videos in either the native browser or in Dolphin.

With all of the hype about the upcoming release of ICS, why didn't anyone warn the customers that Flash would no longer work with ICS and that this upgrade would essentially hobble their device? Motorola did mention this fact buried in a pre-release notification, but it was easily missed:Due to Adobe's discontinuation of Flash development, Flash Player is no longer preloaded and is not available for download from Google Play to this device. Existing installations of Flash Player may or may not play Flash video properly. Alternatively, the new HTML5 standard is supported for Web video.

For the first couple months, I was taking crystal clear pictures without any problems, then one day the camera refused to autofocus and now all my pictures turn out blurry. I can say without a doubt that the lens does not need cleaning because if I take an extreme closeup (just a few inches from the subject) the pictures are clear. Any further than a few inches, the pics come out blurry. Holding the shutter button down a little only causes a red box to come up, not green. Using the touch screen shutter button doesn't make a difference. I tried factory resetting my phone and this didn't solve the issue.

If I select an artist to play, it ends up playing all songs as the majority of the music now appears under the first album above. I trying to find an index file or something that may have gotten corrupt to delete but no luck. All songs play fine, just lost the ability to organize these as they appear on the SD card.
