When I use my camera in panoramic mode the images that should auto take after the first image are too far apart. (Almost 90 degrees) This mode used to work with an earlier release of Android (2.2) but hasent worked since 2.3.4. Is there some setting I need to fix? Is this a bug with the camera app?

I too am a former Droid X user who has been upgraded to a DX2 due to the numerous problems with the Droid X Gingerbread Firmware updates.
I have seen this GPS issue mentioned in another thread and in other forums so I know its not unique to my device, but it was buried in with a lot of other issues and thought it deserved its own thread, which might raise awareness of it for Motorola.
I use CardioTrainer to run, and although the overall location seems to be accurate in "Gross" (my run started and ended on the correct streets) the track showed me "jumping" all over the place in approximately 50 ft increments. This resulted in my 6 mile run showing as 10 miles long! And the pace per mile was similarly incorrect. At this time I do not seem to be experiencing the East/West bug, although I will confirm that by using the Google Nav app the next time I am in my car (just activated the phone yesterday). Additionally, I turn off wifi and bluetooth, leaving on celluar radio and GPS to improve stability before starting my runs, as well as, doing a fresh reboot. These steps seemed to increase the chance of completing a run with my Droid X.
This is a major component of my use of the phone, and I really enjoyed having an all in one, mp3/radio, gps, phone, that assisted me on my runs. I cannot yet comment on whether the X2 is more stable than the X, due to my limited time with the phone.
when I am using the qwerty keyboard (not touch screen) it is either not responding when I press a letter, or after several presses, when it does eventually respond, it displays a letter or character different from what I am pressing. Its basically to the point where my keyboard is useless. I have to hit the same key at least 5 times before it shows anything. It will sometimes skip letters that I'm typing and just display the next character. for example, I can be typing SLOWLY, hitting one at a time, spelling t-e-x-t and it will show up e-t, or something along those lines. Ill backspace to go back to the beginning to add in the missing letter and Ill hit T over and over and over till it eventually shows up, or some random character will show up.

View 5 Replies View RelatedThe only time I was successful in getting WIFI to work was connecting to the OPEN connection at a Lexus Dealership. I've tried numerous times to connect to my home wireless network without success. It shows connected, but there is absolutely no Intenet. This is inexcusable for such a prominent technology company as Motorola! In my view, I believe that Motorola has omitted the WEP key or WPA key in their WIFI set-up. Does anyone else agree to that assessment? I have an electronic engineering degree and have been involved with technology since I was in high school and I would think that Motorola would answer this problem with a software update. I am sure it affects all of their smartphones with supposed WIFI capability. Other than the WIFI issue it is a great smartphone even without 4G!

View 12 Replies View RelatedMy issue is this, I cannot "fast forward" a video during playback. I can select a "fast forward" spot in the video using the slider or control panel but as soon as I let go it reverts back to where it was before (usually the beginning). The really weird part is when I download a player app it initially works, it did this trying RockPlayer, GeekVideo, BSPlayer and others, but as soon as I exit and re-start the apps they revert back to this behavior. My videos are 2.5 hours long and I need the ability to start, and re-start them at differnt points.
I tried MoboPlayer and it behaved the same. I noticed that the file type that does not work is the .WMV, the .MP4's work as they should.
Is this an issue with 2.3.6 that would be fixed if I go back to 2.3.5? I did not see any posts on the internet about this specific issue so I am confused. I received my RAZR MAXX a few days ago. I did the OTA update to 2.3.6 before checking this issue on 2.3.5.I am not rooted or modified in any way.I do not have this problem with the same applications with .WMV files on my old DX running GB 2.3.3 or my tablet running HC 3.2.1
I have my phone set to respond to "OK Google Now". When I am not connected to Bluetooth, this works great. When connected to BT, the Moto Voice Blue "Listening" window pops up, then minimizes/closes after 1 second. This did not happen with KitKat.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have 10 albums that I sync to my iPhone. I have a specific photo that I have saved as "0" so that it's first when I sync, creating a cool album cover. However, since the recent iTunes update, when I sync photos to my iPhone, it sync them out of order and sometimes creates duplicates. Occasionally, some photos are in the wrong albums.
I unchecked all albums, synced, then resynced with the albums checked, hoping that putting them back on fresh would help, but it doesn't. Incidentally, if I sync 1 album only, they sync in the correct order with no duplicates.

After upgrading to ICS and being forced to do a FDR, I eventuallly realized my Smart Actions were no longer woking properly. I deleted them and was adding them back one by one. The ones that are not location-based work okay but I cannot actually get a location trigger to save. I press on Location, it shows me my one location I have set up right now, I select that one, press done to go back out to the smart action page, but the location value is not set. I tried clearing the cache, system and app, already but nothing changed.
I just realized I can set a location if I am not editing a sample action. Starting with a blank rule, it works but I still hae so save the action and then save the trigger.
D2G no longer gives notifications. Volume is all the way up and notifications are activated. I received notifications before Gingerbread.For those of you clamoring to get Gingerbread, be careful what you ask for; so far I'm not impressed. It almost seems as if they are using us to beta test their software.

I like the V600 because it is quad, unlocked (im out of contract with t-moile) so I can swap sims and use it when overseas. I could renew the contract and get a free phone but I couldn't find any free flip phones that have quad on t-mobiles upgrade page.Suggestions on what to do? Replace internal parts or bite the bullet and pay for a new phone?

View 6 Replies View RelatedI've just updated my Razr Maxx to ICS several days ago and ever since then the Location trigger I use for work is completely unreliable. It's constantly turning on and off all day long. I mainly use the smart action here to make sure my phone is automatically on vibrate throughout the day at work and I can't really rely on it at this point. Prior to updating to ICS it worked perfectly.I noticed you do not need to leave WIFI on anymore for location triggers to work, but at the same time I see wifi in my battery usage while wifi has toggled off. Is this new version manually turning on WIFI to determine location? I've tried leaving WIFI on and it doesn't seem to make a difference, it's still inconsistent.Also, I've already tried resetting Smart Actions to default and wiping out all smart actions and starting from scratch.

I don't seem to have that trigger in the version of smart actions on my new Droid 4, though? Is that a hardware sensor limitation? Or do I need to change a setting somewhere to make that trigger come up in the list?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have found that whenever I try to take a picture, it looks like it worked, but then I click on the image that appears in the corner and it shows the last picture that I took before this one (from over a month ago). The picture never actually saves.
I have tried turning it off, removing the battery, then turning it back on. I have tried deleting old pictures to clear up space (the phone says that I have over 5GB of space). I have tried giving the camera extra time before trying to view the picture.
Why do we have to constantly keep our Wifi connection on thoughout the day for Locational Smart actions to work properly? Why cant we have Location in Trigger and Wifi(on) in Actions since its also using our GPS location to location us and Wifi for more accurate location?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have SmartActions set up to trigger when my location is home to turn on WiFi and turn off data. Similarly, I have a trigger when I connect to my Bluetooth in the car to turn off WiFi and turn on data.
The problem is when I am leaving the house but not going to the car. Is there a way I can determine that I am leaving my house or disconnected from my home Wifi so that I can turn WiFi off and data on?

View 6 Replies View RelatedLast Friday my D4 did a forced reboot out of nowhere, which resulted in the Data Manager somehow turning off the "Data Enabled" feature. It took me an hour of no internet/data connection to figure out what was going on.
Perhaps related, since then, Gmail no longer auto syncs or pushes messages to my phone. I have to manually refresh in Gmail for any new message to show up. This failure is highlighted when I am sitting there with my Xoom and my D4, and my Xoom gets mails all day long over 4G/LTE, but my phone is silent.
I have been all through my settings and can't figure out why Gmail won't autosync anymore.
I guess I am talking about gingerbread, though I don't know, but I had a major software update for my Droid 2 Global last week and am still figuring out the differences. Although initially I thought it was good, here are some annoying ones: While entering info in different apps (texting, email, color notes) after typing only a bit, it stops accepting anymore keystrokes and says has separated from the app.No longer able to link or unlink contacts.Unfortunately, I am still discovering contacts that are linked.In case it matters, Verizon is my carrier.I wasted much time trying to send an email to Verizon support and to post on Verizon forum.

I went to take a video and noticed that I could only take a video in DVD quality or worse. There was no longer an option to take video in 780p or HD+ (1080p). I thought that happened because I didn't have much space left on my SD card. I later purchased a 32G Sandisk MicroSDHC. I thought that I would get back my HD and HD+ video options back after I installed the new card. This did not happen. I no longer can take HD+ video anymore. My settings in the video record mode no longer list HDor HD+. how to get the HD settings back? I tried clearing the cache and data in the camera app, but that didn't help.

Does motorola offer something simular? Or do we just have to get a new device once the battery is dead?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI am not at all happy with ICS. To me, the upgrade to ICS is a nothing more than a bunch of pretty colors and a few new animations. In actuality, however, I think that the upgrade delivered little in terms of improvements. In fact, I wish I could undo the upgrade and go back two weeks, to a time in which I felt the Razr Maxx was virtually flawless and was the best phone I ever had.Elsewhere in this owner's forum I have written about the way in which business contact names are now scrambeled in the contact list. Others are having problems with battery life, overheating, poor navigation, etc. However, the biggest failure of the ICS upgrade, as I see it, is the loss of the ability to view Flash encoded videos in either the native browser or in Dolphin.
With all of the hype about the upcoming release of ICS, why didn't anyone warn the customers that Flash would no longer work with ICS and that this upgrade would essentially hobble their device? Motorola did mention this fact buried in a pre-release notification, but it was easily missed:Due to Adobe's discontinuation of Flash development, Flash Player is no longer preloaded and is not available for download from Google Play to this device. Existing installations of Flash Player may or may not play Flash video properly. Alternatively, the new HTML5 standard is supported for Web video.
When creating a Custom Trigger and selecting "Wi-Fi network" I find the following Actions greyed out: Does this mean you cannot select them or are they enabled by default? IF they are enabled by default, why can't you save the Custom Trigger without selecting an additional Action.

Did the is icon go away with the Lollipop update? What am I missing. I tried using Android Pay at the grocery store today and it did not register with the POS terminal.

Consequently, I can't edit it, change the password, or even delete it. Any suggestions on how to get the corporate sync account back on the account list?
