how to trigger a Smart Action using the "double-tap" feature of the Home button? I would like a Smart Action to trigger the Vehicle Mode on my phone. I know that there is a blue tooth trigger to do so, but I do not have any blue tooth devices.
View 5 RepliesOn my Razr Maxx I could select 'play playlist' as part of a smart action. My Razr Maxx HD doesn't have that option. It does have a 'play music' option but when selected it says no playlists found despite their existence on the sd card and in internal memory.

Trigger: Detect my wifi, then: Disable Cellular Data, Turn on blue-tooth, dim brightness to 45%, lower ringer volume, But when I leave the house, I want it to Turn Off Wifi and enable Cellular Data. Is there a way the SA can detect that I am not connected to my home wifi and disable wifi and enable Cellular Data, or just enable one SA and disable the active one?
View 9 Replies View Relatedi have set up the pre formated sleep mode using the time trigger, however, each night it shuts off before the set time. i have the night trigger set from 11pm to 1159pm everyday, the morning trigger set from 12am to 7am everyday and the weekend trigger set from 701am to 9am saturday and sunday. sometime in the wee hours of the morning it shuts itself off in the middle of the morning time frame. ive checked my phone at 3 am and 5 am to find the smart action has shut off. i have to open and close smart actions to get it to come back on. ive deleted the action, cleared cashe and started over, deleted and started from scratch and used the pre formated sleep mode. i cant think of why it stops working.

Have tried all the options available, but none seem to work. This feature can be accessed by going to Settings>Applications>Double tap home launch to choose your option.

The best examples of when this might come in handy:In the car, being able to turn media volume up to loud so you can stream music through your stereo and control it entirely through the car stereo. I find mysef always having to find my phone and turn media up on the phone first, so I don't accidentally blow a speaker when I get in the car without the phone connected.At work being able to turn the media volume to mute. Currently, I have the double-tap to open up the camera.......however, when the phone is in lock mode and the home button is double tapped, the iPod turns on.
I don't want the iPod being activated by any means other than tapping on the iPod app icon.
Ok, so now our options for double clicking the home button are Home, Search, Favorites, Camera, iPod, and now multitasking??? 6 options? And if we DON'T want to use double click to go to multitasking what happens... we just lose multitasking all together? Many people have gotten used to and like being able to use the double click for our favorites or for the camera... and now we need to ditch that if we want to use the most desired feature of 4.0??? really? I mean, REALLY? It just seems like a pretty clunky afterthought to throw another double click option at us. Surely apple could have implemented something nicer.
Personally I think for multitasking they should use some sort of 3 finger gesture. Either a 3 finger swipe up (and keep the dock-like implementation apple chose) or a 3 finger zoom out (which would then zoom out to showing all active apps at once. imagine the tabs view in mobile safari.Additionally I think apple should add a dedicated camera button. That would solve the other double home button issue and this would make the iphone much more usable as a camera.
I know in iOS4 if you double tap the home button it gives you the multitasking option...is there a way to override that so the double tap can be ipod controls?
Im still on 3.1.3 waiting for the jailbreak 3gs, so I was just curious if a way existed for those who have been able to jailbreak their device.

You can't customize the behavior of the home button anymore in Settings, and as such you can't set it to do things like open phone favorites, open the camera or open the iPod controls. This is kind of a downer since I used to use the double-tap for phone favorites all the time.
I know that previous reports about iOS4 said you could double-tap and hold to bring up phone favorites but that's not working anymore, it seems.
- Holding the home button brings up voice control.
- Double-tapping brings up the multitasking/recent apps bar along the bottom.
- Double-tapping and holding does nothing.
- Triple-tapping does nothing.
- Triple-tapping and holding brings up voice control.

Been trying to set up some rules based on recomendations from this vid url...where they suggest using the Smart Action trigger for "Motion Detector" to save battery, and which looks pretty useful!However, I have a UK version of the RAZR and the Motion Detector feature does not seem to be enabled! Why is that? Is there a way of enabling it? Whilst I am on this topic I was also wondering if there is a way to restore the Smart Action Samples, as I managed to delete a couple of them accidentally.
View 4 Replies View RelatedMy iPhone 4 running 5.1 has suddenly started crashing back to the shutdown animation when I double tap the home button. It's happening every time I click it, so I can't access the ?springboard??, the part where you can close apps, slide left to access volume, etc... It appears to jam, then drop back to the black screen with loader animation, then just a few seconds later, I see the lock screen again and have to enter my password...
It seemed to start after I installed some rubbish apps last night, but I've removed them since, but the problem persists. Maybe it's a coincidence, and not connected to the naff app..

First let me start by saying I had the RAZR and I used Smart Actions quite a bit to control certain functions. I then got the MAXX because well I wanted it.. and its massive battery. So, I updated to 6.12.173 and went to set up a smart actions and found that I could not find the Incoming Call Trigger.Now I had this bult on the orginal RAZR already, and I had updated the phone so I went back and it is mssing from their as well.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI've got the Droid RAZR HD MAXX, and was wondering if anyone else is experiencing stuttering on the home screen. Specifically, it happens when swiping to the Quick Settings and Manage Pages screens. After I swipe once to the screen, it seems to be smooth when going back and forth, it's just the initial showing of the screen when I notice it. Then going to different apps and then back to the home screen, I'll see it happen again. It's not a deal breaker, but it just makes the phone seem "slower" than it actually is. Also, the Circles widget seems to look choppy at some points as well, during the weather animation or when flipping the clock.
