Motorola Droid :: SD Card Not Present & Won't Connect Via USB To Mac
May 27, 2011
suddenly my SD card decided that it was going to disappear, and even though it's there, my phone is not detecting it. I pulled the battery, removed the SD card and plugged it into my computer via adapter (not phone) and was able to access it. I put the SD card back in my phone, power up then go to Settings>SD Card & phone storage and under 'Mount SD card' it says "Insert an SD card for mounting". Okay ... so a few days later I exchanged SD cards with a "droid" friend and she was able to detect my card in her phone, but again my phone is not detecting her card. Bummer... Also, when I plug my phone into my computer via USB to Mac I am unable to establish a connection. I am using Android File Transfer. I have tried to format SD card (FAT32) with Disk Utility and still nothing... So I'm almost convinced that my phone is damaged. It was working last week.
i updated my phone software on my x10 to android 2.3.3 since i done the update it will not read my memory card. all it keeps saying is sd card unmounted or not present. i have tried to repair the phone on the pc companion website but it will not let me as it says no card present. I have also have used the sony update site as well and reloaded the software twice once with the memory card in and once with out.
Cannot connect phone to Vista PC, even after making sure Motorola device drivers are up-to-date. Device manager shows a Motorola G drive working properly, but removable disk G in explore shows no media present.
Also tried Remote Web Desktop from Smart Dog and cannot get an IP connection either. Have a solid WiFi connection, and tried disabling 3G.
I've gone home and wanted to change my SIM card to the home one. Now MotoBlur wants me to put in the password and stuff. Did that and it says: "The phone radio is unable to connect to the network. Make sure the radio is on, or move into a better cover area". Same story when I put my UK (the orginal) SIM card in. Tried to connect to wifi, that won;t work either.
I have connected my outlook email to my droid. However, my droid 3 only shows a ew emails and I can't access any of my folders. How do I get all my emails on my droid?
My phone (DROID 3, less than a year old) won't connect to my computer, and I'm not sure if the issue is the phone or the computer. I have done all I can do on Motorola's troubleshooting/guided assistance pages. Downloading new drivers, restarting, and updating software hasn't worked. I'm using a Gateway laptop with Windows 7, and before the holiday season just passed my phone and my computer got along fine. Now, not so much, and I haven't done anything deliberate to cause this. No damages etc.My phone will begin charging when plugged into any USB port on my computer, and the computer recognizes something happened but a little alert bubble pops up saying "USB Device Not Recognized" each time. I can't access any of my phone's files from my computer the way I used to be able to, AutoPlay does not start up, and nothing I've done so far has worked to fix these issues.
My laptop will not recognize my RAZR. I get the little sound on inserting the USB, but it says the device is not recognized. The phone IS charging, but i cannot transfer photos/movies.
Motorola Droid (2.2 system); had it almost 2 years. Browser wont' connect to anything...not even google.
Click on "Browser" icon and get message "www.google.com - The page does not support your version of browser. Please update your software" with a browser update button. (I don't click on things I don't request). When I try "google search" icon I get search page but any search results in the same message as above.Click on "Market" I get "Attention - A server error has occurred. Retry, or cancel and return to the previous screen."Trying any other apps results in various message that say they have problems communicating with the server.
I want to replace the SD card in my Droid 2 with a new, larger one. Would this be the correct procedure?
Unmount the existing SD card Insert the new SD card in the phone and have it recognize and format it Copy the folders & files from old card to new on my PC
i have two droid razrs on my verizon account. they are both currently with no service due to my brother sticking me with a 1500 dollar phone bill that being said one of them will not connect to wifi says "error" and thats all and the bluetooth isnt working either during my research i have found others with this same problem but no solution if neither connected i would probably shrug it off as verizon shut off my wifi access but that is not the case i have done hours of research and cant seem to find a solution on my own so my question or rather questions are as follows: How do i fix this issue if even possible? What could have caused this issue? What can i do to prevent this from happening again? Should i just try and get a replacement when i pay my bill and get service reconnected? my phones are not rooted or altered in anyway they are stock exactly the way you buy them at verizon store?
I tried to connect to my Droid Bionic to my computer today and it does not give me an option to connect via USB...it just say's charging. There is nothing in the notifications dropdown area and the drivers are not showing in the device manager inside windows 7 Pro 64bit.
I uninstalled the drivers and rebooted then installed them again but still nothing.
I tried this on 3 computers both 64 and 32 bit. The cable is good and it is the one that came with the phone. It does charge but no data transfering.
I cant connect to my job's wifi because the wifi requires me to enter a user id/name but the Bionic's proxy setting dont have a field where a user id/name can be entered. Does anyone know of a different way to connect or a different setup?
So on saturday I tried manually installing the ICS update from over on droidforums. net.I know I know that is not advisable by most people However whats done is done. The install failed.I used the droid utility 1.7 to put gingerbread back on my phone. The phone works.I can go online, connect to wifi, make calls and doing everything like normal.I do however have a questions that i'm wondering if they are related to what I did.
1. I can't connect to 4G all of a sudden.I am only in a 4G area while i'm at work so the time I have to troubleshoot is limited.I did however read that other people are having a problem as well.I went to a store and they gave me a new sim card which didn't change anything. She believes its just the network.I guess time will tell on that.
2. I called customer support about the 4G thing and while going through the trouble shooting the guy asked for my IMEI number.in my phone it says unknown.I don't know if it ever showed a number but he seemed shocked that it said unknown so of course I think its something I did. i never told him or anyone at the store about trying to install the update in fear of them refusing to help me.
3.When I turn my phone on and the screen is loading up it takes a minute for it to get a signal.I sits there with a red circle with a line through it for a minute then the screen refreshes and I get service and 3G.Also while the screen is loading up I get a message in a blue box towards the bottom of the screen that says "Have a great day!" Which as nice as that is I never noticed that before.
AT&T U-verse just replaced my wireless gateway, and I can't get my Droid 2 to connect to it no matter what. I've tried entering the 10-digit network key (WPA/WPA2 PSK) many times, and I just get Scanning... then Connecting... then Disconnected. I've deleted the old "remembered" network and started from scratch, but it won't connect. My other wireless devices can connect to it fine.
I have both a CommandOne bluetooth, and a Jabra Stone....both of which pair with my Droid X, but don't communicate....they both did at one time (the CommandOne stopped communicating during a conversation)....the Jabra who knows when it quit. Now I have two BT's neither of which I can use. I keep thinking I must be doing something wrong, but damned if I can figure it out. This should be pretty straight forward. I've turned off BT, and the restarted the phone, done multiple Discoveries, multiple retrys at connecting.
The only change is that I have moved, and have gone to a wireless network. I have tested on the web access via the PC and everything comes up fine. It just is not able to connect on the Bionic.
From the documentation the Razr is supposed to support USB Host out of the box and allow connectivity of USB devices that do not require special drivers.Specifically mentioned were USB keyboards - which is the sole reason I purchsed the Razr over the Galaxy. I have a standard USB to micro USB adapter that I've used to connect to the phone. However, the input is not recognized. How do I go about connecting a USB keyboard to the Razr so that the input is recognized
I purchased my Motorola Droid in November 2009 at a Verizon store. They created a Gmail account for me but I don't know the password. I've never accessed this Gmail account from any other device aside from this Droid. Now my phone died and I can't get my data, specifically my contacts off this phone.
I was able to take out the SD card and back that up. I've tried going thru the normal Gmail steps to recover the password but that has not been successful. The next option is to get this phone repaired. The screen has died on this phone and want to know if it can be repaired. I would like advice on either or both of these options.
If there is an easier way to recover my contacts off this phone / Gmail contacts,
Just received my refurbished DX to hopefully work better than my current one which has been a pain since the Gingerbread update. I have quite a few apps installed on my SD card that didn't make it through the lame VZ backup. Do I have to reinstall them from the market or is there a way to just have them recognized?
I have about 8 gigs worth of music on a 16 gig class 6 SD card in my D3. Every so often some music files will disappear and LOST.DIR will then have numeric files in its folder. I do not know why this is happening, but I am not the first who seems to be having this issue.
I thought I was doing something wrong that was causing the SD card to unmount incorrectly but my D3 has not been USB connected all morning and I have lost 140 files, and correspondingly LOST.DIR now has 140 numeric files.
Had to get a replacement phone (dropped it screen cracked) replaced the sim card from the first phone and the SD card everything came back including my downloaded apps but if you go into settings/storage/SD card it shows unavailable and in the ongoing at the top of the home screen it shows preparing SD card but it's been running forever it knows it is there and I've looked at it on my computer the files are there, any thoughts?
Got mystery autoupdate to 2.3.3 from Verizon other morning - phone now has no SD card recognition -, i.e. no camera, music etc... - Scandisk 8gb card - data on card is intact when viewed from computer and file structure
SD card was getting a little full so I deleted all my music from it. That space is still not free, but the music isn't there either. I've tried accessing the card via Terminal and couldn't find anything there either. I'm down to 262 KB remaining on a 16GB card that has almost no media on it..
I have an SD card the says "MICRO HC 8GB co8G Taiwan". It has a little circle that has a "4" in it. My Droid X2 is reading it as a 4 GB card and says it's full even though most of my apps are in the internal memory. When downloading app data it says there's enough room. When I removed the SD card, there are a number of apps that are checking as being on the SD card. When I "Move to media area" it changes to "Move to phone" which suggests that it just move the app to the SD card...which in not in the phone!
Is this a programing problem with the phone where it's not finding the SD card at all, or is this a faulty SD card?
where we can manually scan the SD card so ringtones etc. Would show up in ringtones and notification areas etc. Instead of having to reboot the phone everytime to scan the sd card I move or add a ringtone etc. Yes I've tried apps that are in the market and they don't work and still have to reboot to scan the SD card.
