Motorola Droid Razr :: Battery Life Post Update?
Dec 23, 2011Seems since the update yesterday AM my battery has been draining faster. Haven't made any changes to smart actions or any other settings, but seems I'm down about another 20% at the end of work day the last 2 days. Still not dissatisfied by any means, just curious. Also, last 2 days Android OS has been top on battery use list, compared to prior to update, where it was farther down.Also, never dropped 4G prior to last outage, and now post update/post outage seem to be waffling much more between 3G and 4G.

Jul 10, 2012Has anyone been able to get the Watch ESPN app to work post ICS update? It worked well for me prior to ICS, and now if it is opened, the app will lock up, or the screen will lock up, or the phone will reboot itself. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the app with no change.

Apr 22, 2012When I get a meeting invite from someone as an .ics file attached to an email if I open the attachment and press save it is saved to the local phone calendar and not my Google calendar, which has been set to be the default calendar. There seems to be no option to allow it to save it to the Google calendar (or move it afterwards), other than not saving it on the phone but waiting until I have access to my (non-Moto) Android tablet which doesn't have a local calendar, just the Google calendar.

Jan 14, 2012When using the Droid Razr as a hot spot for my Zoom I cannot access Yahoo.com and a few other sites. When connecting using a conventional wireless hot spot there is no problems. Also tested using an HTC 4gLTE and there was no problems. The issue is specific to the Verizon/Motorola Razr Hot Spot. There seem so be an MTU issue with many sites when only using a Droid Razr as a hot spot, The Razr connects directly to all the sites but the Hot Spot function will not allow certain sites. After repeated calls and Google Searches I found a tech that amited that Verizon / Motorola Droid Razr has an issue with accessing certain sites only in the Hot Spot App. They plan to correct in the next update hopefully in Feb 2012. They suggested the the fix is in Beta. Some of the sites that don't connect are Yahoo.com and Yahoo.mail Microsoft.com some Apple sites. There are more but I didn't have pen at the time.

Dec 4, 2011I moved from the droid x to the razr a couple weeks ago, I'm having trouble using my tethering on laptops and desktops. I can connect my Xoom and iPad just fine, but my laptop and desktop both windows 7 ultimate say they cannot connect. I have not tried to connect with USB so I don't know if that works. when or if we can get ICS for the razr?

Not sure what is going on here. why I can't access the music on my SD card that was fine on my Droid4? Seems odd that my music folder is empty (when I browse to it using files/astro.)

Jul 20, 2012I'm unable to take a portrait photograph or video on my Razr. If I hold it in portrait mode, the icons don't rotate like they do on the Galaxy Nexus, there's no option to set it to portrait mode, and every picture ends up in landscape. Even if I disable Auto Rotate, they're all in landscape. This is a real pain in the butt because sometimes I need more detail on something that is taller than it is wide but I have to settle for the extra space of landscape. The Galaxy Nexus and Droid Bionic allow portrait photographs and video, why doesn't the Razr.

Dec 20, 2012Unlike other stock apps and Verizon bloatware, I was unable to re-enable the stock Email app.
My stock Email app used to be linked to my office Outlook email. From further research, I have found that it is the cause for warning such as "Unfortunately, process.com.motorola.services has been force closed" or something like that to pop up. My attemp to fix this was to download other developer's apps, but soon to find out nearly all of them only supports POP3 and IMAP. Needless to say I feel nauseating just thinking about spending $20 for apps like ActiveSync and TouchDown for the stupid Outlook email!
Motorola Droid Razr :: Unable To Connect To Shared Folders?
Nov 3, 2012I'm trying to connect to my shared folders on a Windows XP machine through the My Files app, but it keeps saying the login is incorrect. The shared folders are the typical XP Shared Documents in My Computer, and I can access them through EStrongs File Explorer easily, and the PC has a username and password so that's not the problem. It doesn't matter what I type in for that anyways.Shouldn't this work out of the box? It seems like I have to jump through some unspecified hoops here, and there's no clue what I'm supposed to do. It looks like a useless feature at this point.

My Droid sees the network SSID and treats it as a WEP secured network, so it only provides me the ability to enter the WEP password and not the whole range of WPA2 credentials. May 31, 2012Upgraded three family DX's this weekend to the RAZR MAXX's and so far pretty pleased. My wife's phone has an interesting "feature?" which I haven't been able to figure how to turn off. When she has an unread email (either GMAIL or or local internet provider mail) periodicaly when the screen is locked and off the screen will turn on for a second and then turn off like a reminder notification. Obviously a battery killer. I've looked through all the reminder features including the add-on we use "Light Flow Lite" which we use for missed calls and cannot find where to turn this off.

Oct 6, 2011I was at the Texas State Fair this weekend, and a Verizon guy was trying to con my family into all these "deal." He did have a Bionic, which I managed to get to play with. It was not long before I concluded that the Bionic is way faster than the DROID3. And that's with livewallpapers on. I fired up the camera app, did some browsing on the browser, and nothing. No redraw, no lag.
Now, the launcher speed did improve with the update. But it is still not up to speed with Bionic, it will still redraw coming out of intensive apps, and Launcher Pro blows it out of the water in all but one area. Oh and I went through quite a few pages on the Bionic forums, and did a search for both "lag" and "redraw" and came up fairly empty. With live wallpapers on, Launcher Pro's app drawer drops frames. Live wallpapers doesn't seem to affect the stock launcher at all. Overall LP is faster, but not that one little area.
So when are we going to get some attention around here in Bionic soak test land???
Motorola Droid X :: Post GB Update: Can't Make Calls
Jun 5, 2011Since receiving the OTA GB update, I have run into an issue where the phone will not make calls. After dialing a number and hitting send, the phone looks like it is about to dial but immediately goes to 'End Call' and disconnects. I'm seeing the same thing after hitting a direct-dial shortcut. The dial screen comes up with the contact's phone number and as soon as the phone connects to start dialing, it immediately goes to 'End Call.' Time of call in every instance is 00:00.
This has happened twice in the last 3 days and the only way I have found to correct it is to pull the battery. A powerdown/reboot does not do anything. The annoyance is magnified since I am using an Otterbox Defender case and have to remove it to access the battery (grrrr!)

Apr 8, 2012I purchased the Moto Elite Sliver because my Plantronics Pro HD would drop its bluetooth every single time a call was answered or placed. I did a little research and found it may be related to a conflict with the 2.0 headset and 4.0 phone. Moto Sliver is BT 3.0 and was working great until this week. Now every single time a call is disconnected, the headset disconnects and reconnects. Reboots galore, problem still exists. Uninstall/reinstall Motospeak, problem still exists. Sometimes the bluetooth will not connect at all (reboot required). The Droid RAZR Maxx and the Elite Sliver are supposed to be state of the art MOTOROLA, I make a living with my phone and headset.

It's as if the WiFi is going to sleep when I power the screen off, but it doesn't wake up again. Turning WiFi off and on makes it reconnect.It seems to happen mostly when I'm at home, where I also use the Motorola flip stand with "ESP" smart charger, and a NetGear dual-band wireless router/access point.

Now, after several days' worth of set-up, google searches, forum searches and FAQ's, I'm come to the conclusion that Motorola did NOT build this function into the Droid Razr, and I have to pay a hefty fee for a decent 3rd-party app to do what my Blackberry did for free. Have I missed something?
