The application contacts storage (process com.motorola.contacts) has stoped unexpectedly. Has anyone been having this problem and is there a fix. I cant call any of my contacts and this is a real pain in the but for real. Due I need to change from moto WOW!
In the past - namely when I owned the Droid X - while in a call, I was able to press the volume up and volume keys successfully to adjust the in-call volume while I held the phone to my ear. Albeit the screen was turned off, the volume adjustment responded properly. I find now with the Bionic that I cannot adjust the volume while the phone is against my ear and that I actually have to move the phone far enough away from my face in order for the screen to turn back on and allow for the volume to be adjusted.
This causes me to miss part of the conversation, Matt can this be adressed or is there a setting I am missing?
I just bought this Bionic. I am familiar with the Droid OS. I have tried a factory reset, exporting contacts to SD card and importing, importing from Outlook, removing all contacts from GMail then syncing with Outlook, and just about every other thing I could find online to do. No where do I have the option of deleting all of my contacts and starting over.
When I receive a sms message sometimes, the original text comes through fine. However, a few minutes later I get small bits and pieces of the original message sent to me in about 10 separate text messages ( sometimes more ) from a California telephone number (I live in Mass.). When I call that number from my Bionic, it goes right ot my voice mail voice mail. When I call the number from a landline, it states that the call cannot be completed.
Has anybody else noticed that when you are on the phone, you are unable to adjust the volume while the phone is next to your ear.. I have went through 3 bionics and all of them have had this issue, in order for me to adjust the volume during a phone call I have to pull it away from my ear, let the screen light up, and then it will let me change it..
My phone locked up/screen went black during a phonecall yesterday. It was at night. So, it was dark where I was. I tried to access the screen. It would produce a faint light, but would not let me access the screen, phone or any apps. I was talking on a bluetooth headset at the time. Normally at the end of a call, I could hang up the phone by pushing a button on my headset. That wouldn't work either. The only way I could hang up the phone was to pull the battery.
how to diagnose the problem or stop it from happening again? Or, is this just a BSOD (black screen of death where phone locks up and requires a battery pull) that happened while I was in a phone call?
Wow that was weird. My Bionic just rebooted after I answered a call. The other party began to speak and bam it rebooted. I have never had that happen before. I am glad it was a call from one of my employees and not a client!
It happened again today. I picked up the phone to make a call and it was in the middle of rebooting. It had been sitting idle for over an hour.I rebooted it myself the night before just prior to connecting it to the charger.
I just found a problem with my Bionic today. I was trying to access my voicemail and had to hit the number 1 on the dial pad during a call to enter my mailbox number.
The number 1 would not do anything during the call. All other numbers worked. If I kept trying to press the number 1 the screen would go black for a second then return with the dial pad. A factory reset did not cure it.
I went to a local Verizon store and the person there told me that this is a known issue and it only happens when the volume is up full. He then said that I have to put the volume down to 1/2 in order for the number 1 to work properly during a call
I called Motorola when I returned home and was told that this is not a known issue - they never heard of it.
Researching on Google and this Forum I have found others that have had this same issue. I have not heard of any resolution yet.
Both Motorola and Verizon Phone Tech Support recommended replacing the phone. Verizon Tech Support was supposed to call me back in an hour after my call with them to see what I wanted to do but never did. I was supposed to keep trying the number 1 after they had me force stop and clear the dialer and virtual keyboard. The problem still exists.
I only have a matter of hours before my 14 days is up at Verizon at which point I will be given a refurbished phone. For some reason I could not log onto this forum today to post this. I just now got in.
Do any other owners of the Bionic experience this? I don't want to replace the phone if they all do it. It's down to the wire now!
When I set up facebook on my phone, some how all my facebook friends were added as contacts on my phone. Is there an easy way to delete them all and start over?
This is my first "smart" phone and I have a question that (I hope) has a simple answer. The phone produces sounds when e-mails or text messages come in as well as for phone calls, and I want it too. Except at night. Is there a way to set the Bionic so that ONLY an incoming phone call produces a sound?I have an elderly mother and need to receive an emergency phone call. However, I don't need want the phone to wake me up any time an e-mail or text message arrives. Sleep mode allows calls to come in but there is no sound.
The last several days I have begun to hear an intermittment buzzing noise when people that I am speaking with on a phone call on the Droid Bionic are talking. The noise does not appear to occur when I am speaking - only when the other party speaks and this has happened on several calls with several people from different phone numbers and it does not matter whether they call me or I call themI had thought that noise issues were relegated to the audio portion of Zumocast, etc. through headphones, etc. as reported via other discussions, but now this issue has come up. I have one day left to return my phone and this is one thing I can not deal with.
I just spent two hours on the phone. First with Verizon, and then Motorola (I was disconnected from the rep at Motorola who did not call me back). This is the issue. When I got the Bionic I used a program called MyBackUpPro to put much of the stuff I had from my Original Droid onto the Bionic. I was up and running and very happy.Since the 8th when I got the phone everything sync's just find EXCEPT contacts. When I try to uncheck and check the box to sync contacts it give the error "Sync is currently experiencing problems, it will be back shortly.". I have tried to sync contacts over 30 times since then and that's the only message I get.My next step was to try to use Backup Assistant, however according to Verizon they are having problems with it.So they transfered me to Motorola, and I spoke to two reps there who took me through the same steps as Verizon... I did them for the second time and of course no go.I suggested to THEM that maybe I can import the contacts from outlook by saving them to a CSV file, putting it on the SD card then using your contacts program to import them. I attempted to do this and it can never find the file.I put the file both in the SD card AND the SD-ext card just in case. When choose import from SIM card it says there are no contacts on my SIM card.
I now can not sync contacts between GMail and Bionic.I have not tried until today to do this since the December OTA update so I assume it is related to the update.
In order to do a clean synch with a contact management software such as Deja Office they recommend we delete the contacts on the phone. Otherwise I'll end up with the number of contacts doubling.I looked at the contacts app and there doesn't seem to be a way to delete all the contacts.
i don't want posts stating this has been reported before-the search enging sux on here.
as soon i turn off the wifi, the call quality goes back to normal. is this yet another bug? will it be fixed with an update? what's the story on this moto?
All my merged contacts end up using the Twitter handle, which in most case, isn't the person's name. There doesn't seem to be any way to override this other than unlink the Twitter account, then I end up with duplicate contacts. I know this has been discussed before but I couldn't find it in search. Is there any way to override this?
I haven't used the lapdock in over a month.Recently attempted to connect and found I am unable. When I connect the lapdock it appears to connect normally, but then flashes back to the phone. While connected, the touch pad and keyboard are not functional. I also noticed I no longer get the options I use to when connecting (specifically no productivity mode).I have tried rebooting the phone, removing battery and repowering and reconnecting, no difference at all.
I tried searching the forums but could not find anything. When I try to uninstall an app through the market it just hangs on the uninstall page. I have the same result in the app menu on the phone itself. The only way to get the market and/or the app menu on the phone to get going again is to reboot. I tried booting into safe mode and uninstalling apps through settings (app menu) but it still just hangs on uninstalling.
Every so often when playing a game or hearing my phone ring, my sound goes weird and it sounds tinny and high. It always self corrects usually on the next play of a turn or another call. I think this may have also happened on my OG Droid.
I have caller ID blocking on my cell phone number, because, I do not want everyone I call to see my number. I have always had it set up that way. Numbers in my contact list, however, have *82 programed in front of the number so friends, etc. will know it is me calling. This works fine when I call a contact, but, when I try to text the same number, I get the error "The message must contain valid recipients and content" and am unable to send the text. If I manually enter the same number without the *82, I can send the text, but, nobody knows who it is from, because, my umber will not be revealed. This never happened on my original Droid (running 2.2.1). This is a real pain in the ..
the headphone port breaking/not connecting? I am replacing my third Bionic today for that exact issue. The first one a piece bent inside the headphone port, the second one a piece broke, and the third one just stopped connecting and producing sound.
I noticed that my yahoo mail account was not showing all of my mail messages within the last day. I have verified that my mail account is working fine via pc and was able to check via the web browser on my Bionic. I removed the account and now when I go to add it back via the add accounts and selecting the "Yahoo Mail" option, I can't get passed the e-mail address password screen. It sits there for a bit with "adding your Yahoo! Mail account" and then gives me the message of "Login to the accunt failed, please try again." I am using the correct password and have been able to add this account manually, which I don't prefer since the way I am trying gives me a different icon for Yahoo. Does anyone know why this is happening?? Like I said, Yahoo Mail just started acting up yesterday and now it won't work and play well with others using the pre-defined mail setup in the "Add Accounts" area for Yahoo! Mail.
Is there an easy way to sync Outlook contacts and calendar without Exchange? This is the only problem I have encountered with my new Bionic. The calendar synced, but I have lost my categories, etc. The contacts synched, but I seem to have three of everything (???). Is there a way to delete all the contacts on the phone and start over? I find it hard to believe someone has not come up with an App to make a direct USB sync with the PC, given the Extensive use of Outlook...
Although my WMV formatted Videos play fine on my home computer, I had no problem transferring them to my Bionic SD Card. Rather than playing, a small blue box opens at the bottom, which says "unable to open this type of file". Confirmed that the pre-installed Player should play MP4 and WMV. I tell them about my error message, and they recommend downloading the VLC Media Player (which works great on all files on my home computer, even on AVI and FLV files). Still won't play, so they refer me to Motorola, but before I call them, I also download, the seemingly popular MoboPlayer and MX Video Player.
The Motorola second level of support tells me to convert them from WMV to WMV, although my experience with Motorola's Tech support is that I sense that due to our mother tongues, it might be my fault for not parsing my words carefully enough. Feel free to contribute your WMV (or MP4 experience) to this thread, as the last advice that the Motorola Level 2 Tech Support gave me was to go to "setting", then "privacy" and then "restore data reset".
I have tried all possible solutions to get it to recover but have not been successful and now waiting on a replacement unit from Verizon. In the meantime I am using my old DroidX which seems so slow in comparison. The strange part is that before the last update I have never had a problem with my phone, could this BSOD be a result of the latest update.
So I haven't had any trouble until now with my boinic. I took pictures saturday and I just tried to take one and this is what I got. "Camera is unable to initialize". I have pulled the battery and cleared the data on the camera app and still nothing. I really dont feel like starting over with it but I can if I have to later.
