Every so often when playing a game or hearing my phone ring, my sound goes weird and it sounds tinny and high. It always self corrects usually on the next play of a turn or another call. I think this may have also happened on my OG Droid.
View 5 RepliesThis is my first "smart" phone and I have a question that (I hope) has a simple answer. The phone produces sounds when e-mails or text messages come in as well as for phone calls, and I want it too. Except at night. Is there a way to set the Bionic so that ONLY an incoming phone call produces a sound?I have an elderly mother and need to receive an emergency phone call. However, I don't need want the phone to wake me up any time an e-mail or text message arrives. Sleep mode allows calls to come in but there is no sound.

I don't primarily listen to my phone for music, so it's really not too big of a deal, but it sure is annoying. I thought the OTA was supposed to fix that. And it's not my headphones, they're beats studios.

I can make an assumption that the phone is sending the phone number to the carrier via that warble but I have never heard that through my OG Droid. View 5 Replies View RelatedFirst time I've gotten this alert.Not rooted.Was in dock all night.Pulled it out of dock and within moments I got an alert I've not seen before, in the status bar.I went to the task manager to see what it was all about and the OS was using 54% of the CPU.Moments later it jumped to 80+ percent.It kept moving between 50-ish and 80+ from moment to moment.I ended up shutting the phone off and restarting it.After doing that, no more alerts, but the first time I checked the OS following the restart, it was at 27%.Basically, it's now using a minimum of 16% and sometimes more than 25%, but never more than roughly 30%.IS THAT NORMAL?oh, and as a test, I put it back in the dock for a moment or two, took it out, and no "high CPU usage" alerts.

These .wav files played perfectly on my old droid x and play perfectly on my xoom. why they won't they play on my bionic? I used the stock music app on my droid x, double twist also worked. Double twist works great on my xoom tablet. Music nor double twist nor winamp work on my bionic.

"Sorry the player does not support this type of audio file."
No Error with Music or Winamp, the file just does not play.
I get this error everytime I try to play a song on my bionic WIFI or 4G!

Since then, at least 2 times (possibly more if I was away from my phone when it happened), my phone has randomly started ringing without any incoming calls, alarms or calender appointments set, emails, messages, etc. The only way I could make it stop is to shut the phone down. The volume of the ringing isn't as loud as my set volume, but there is no way to silence it aside from shutting down the phone. Never did it before the system update. I'm not positive if it happens at the same time each time, but it was around 4:17 PM yesterday when it did it.
View 10 Replies View RelatedMusic cuts in and out reguardless of what player I use while the WiFi hotspot is enabled. I turned WiFi hotpspot off and music played as it should. Pandora, Tunein radio, mp3's... anything media wise it appears.bIt also appears this only happens while listening via a bluetooth device - in my case a Motorola T505.
View 6 Replies View RelatedWhen I receive a sms message sometimes, the original text comes through fine.However, a few minutes later I get small bits and pieces of the original message sent to me in about 10 separate text messages ( sometimes more ) from a California telephone number (I live in Mass.). When I call that number from my Bionic, it goes right ot my voice mail voice mail. When I call the number from a landline, it states that the call cannot be completed.

I was trying netflix for the first time playing futurama episode 44 "were the buggal" and when ever there was sound from the speakers it was makeing a clicking sound even when it it is about half way turned down.I tryed to take of the back and it still dose it....is it just my new phone.
View 4 Replies View RelatedFor the first time, my Bionic started making a sound, somewhat between a slow crackle and a tick (although not perfectly regular in timing), that was audible with the phone setting on a sofa cushion. It sounded like it was coming from the area of the mic, but I suppose it was coming from the speaker on the rear near the bottom. I was not actively using any apps at the time, although Google Music and Pocket Casts had both been used (via Bluetooth headset) earlier today.
I tried sleeping the phone and waking it up, and the sound resumed. Power off, waiting a minute or two, and then power on seems to have fixed it, at least for the 10 or so minutes since I restarted it. For the record, this phone has been nearly 100% reliable -- the battery cover has never been off since leaving the Verizon store, about a week after launch.
The issue occurs when playing music and you get CPU load. For me this usually occurs within 6 hours after a reboot. Apps that use the network to stream music are more affected. This usually occurs while the screen is off at random times, and is resolved temporarily when you press the power button. However, there appears to be a bug in the OS where simply touching the screen can cause enough CPU load to create this issue, although that bug seems to require the phone being on for a while. Also, if you do/don't, can you post your kernel version? The atrix uses 2.6.32.9-00001
View 4 Replies View RelatedIs anyone else having an issue where their external sound (ringtones, navigation, music, etc) gets distorted and digitized occasionally?It seems completely random and I asked around when I first got my bionic and no one had heard of the issue so I went to verizon and they exchanged the phone for a new one even though they couldn't reproduce it because it's so intermittent but the new one has the same problem.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI just got the 5s and when placing or receiving a call, the sound is very low. I can barley hear the person on the other end. if I switch it to the speaker I have no problems hearing them. All other sounds, music and tones play fine and I've checked the volume button on the side and the sounds button under settings, everything is turned up to high. Is there any other place on the phone or settings to go to?

I installed the ICS yesterday. Now the Vibrate on touch in the sound setting drops out after five minutes or so.This happens every time I go back to turn it on. Also the sleep in the display setting keeps going back to 30 seconds, no matter what minutes I select . Is this a bug that can be fixed with a update or is there something else I can do.

I have went through 3 bionics and all of them have had this issue, in order for me to adjust the volume during a phone call I have to pull it away from my ear, let the screen light up, and then it will let me change it..
View 8 Replies View RelatedMy phone locked up/screen went black during a phonecall yesterday. It was at night. So, it was dark where I was. I tried to access the screen. It would produce a faint light, but would not let me access the screen, phone or any apps. I was talking on a bluetooth headset at the time. Normally at the end of a call, I could hang up the phone by pushing a button on my headset. That wouldn't work either. The only way I could hang up the phone was to pull the battery.
how to diagnose the problem or stop it from happening again? Or, is this just a BSOD (black screen of death where phone locks up and requires a battery pull) that happened while I was in a phone call?
Wow that was weird. My Bionic just rebooted after I answered a call. The other party began to speak and bam it rebooted. I have never had that happen before. I am glad it was a call from one of my employees and not a client!

View 10 Replies View RelatedI just found a problem with my Bionic today. I was trying to access my voicemail and had to hit the number 1 on the dial pad during a call to enter my mailbox number.
The number 1 would not do anything during the call. All other numbers worked. If I kept trying to press the number 1 the screen would go black for a second then return with the dial pad. A factory reset did not cure it.
I went to a local Verizon store and the person there told me that this is a known issue and it only happens when the volume is up full. He then said that I have to put the volume down to 1/2 in order for the number 1 to work properly during a call
I called Motorola when I returned home and was told that this is not a known issue - they never heard of it.
Researching on Google and this Forum I have found others that have had this same issue. I have not heard of any resolution yet.
Both Motorola and Verizon Phone Tech Support recommended replacing the phone. Verizon Tech Support was supposed to call me back in an hour after my call with them to see what I wanted to do but never did. I was supposed to keep trying the number 1 after they had me force stop and clear the dialer and virtual keyboard. The problem still exists.
I only have a matter of hours before my 14 days is up at Verizon at which point I will be given a refurbished phone. For some reason I could not log onto this forum today to post this. I just now got in.
Do any other owners of the Bionic experience this? I don't want to replace the phone if they all do it. It's down to the wire now!
i am having lag after the update to froyo in 3d games .... over all other performance is gud but ...while playing the games it have glithches/ lag / run
View 2 Replies View RelatedIn the past - namely when I owned the Droid X - while in a call, I was able to press the volume up and volume keys successfully to adjust the in-call volume while I held the phone to my ear. Albeit the screen was turned off, the volume adjustment responded properly. I find now with the Bionic that I cannot adjust the volume while the phone is against my ear and that I actually have to move the phone far enough away from my face in order for the screen to turn back on and allow for the volume to be adjusted.
This causes me to miss part of the conversation, Matt can this be adressed or is there a setting I am missing?
