All my merged contacts end up using the Twitter handle, which in most case, isn't the person's name. There doesn't seem to be any way to override this other than unlink the Twitter account, then I end up with duplicate contacts. I know this has been discussed before but I couldn't find it in search. Is there any way to override this?
View 1 RepliesI set up my Droid with my original gmail account, I'll call it gmail1. For various reasons I want to have 2 additional gmail accounts so I played around, created them in gmail, I'll call them gmail2 and 3. Cause I wasn't sure what I was doing I ended up with contact lists for each with slightly different info and they all got merged into my contact list on my Droid.So the net is I have a person with 2 addressess, another with 3 birthdays (all the same day, but merged from the 3 accounts. would like my Droid to only sync contacts with gmail1, but the contact list already contains the extra data. Is there a way to eliminate that extra data? I removed the contacts from gmail1 and 3 and synced them to the Droid, but all their stuff still exists in my Droid contact list.

About a week ago the sync to my twitter account stopped working stating there was a username password problem. I double checked and I have the correct username and password. I changed the password online but that didn;t I've tried deleting the account from "my accounts" and it keeps telling me that the username / password are incorrect? Any workaround?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI just spent two hours on the phone. First with Verizon, and then Motorola (I was disconnected from the rep at Motorola who did not call me back).This is the issue. When I got the Bionic I used a program called MyBackUpPro to put much of the stuff I had from my Original Droid onto the Bionic. I was up and running and very happy.Since the 8th when I got the phone everything sync's just find EXCEPT contacts. When I try to uncheck and check the box to sync contacts it give the error "Sync is currently experiencing problems, it will be back shortly.". I have tried to sync contacts over 30 times since then and that's the only message I get.My next step was to try to use Backup Assistant, however according to Verizon they are having problems with it.So they transfered me to Motorola, and I spoke to two reps there who took me through the same steps as Verizon... I did them for the second time and of course no go.I suggested to THEM that maybe I can import the contacts from outlook by saving them to a CSV file, putting it on the SD card then using your contacts program to import them. I attempted to do this and it can never find the file.I put the file both in the SD card AND the SD-ext card just in case.When choose import from SIM card it says there are no contacts on my SIM card.

Otherwise I'll end up with the number of contacts doubling.I looked at the contacts app and there doesn't seem to be a way to delete all the contacts.

I have tried a factory reset, exporting contacts to SD card and importing, importing from Outlook, removing all contacts from GMail then syncing with Outlook, and just about every other thing I could find online to do. No where do I have the option of deleting all of my contacts and starting over.

My only "complaint" is that whenever a call comes in or when I make a call, it always has it on the phonespeaker and not over the car dock audio connected to the radio. I have to press the speaker button to turn it off each time.way to have it default to the speaker being off?

I have been using Zumocast, but that's only a one way deal. You can stream and download files from PC onto the Bionic, but not vice versa.Also, I tried to download a 1.4 gig mp4 file but it doesn't fully download, and makes my notification area on my Bionic force close and the whole phone just wigs out and requires a reboot. So Zumocast needs to do some updates in order to support large file transfer.
Anyway, I am looking for a way to transfer files from my phone to my computer(s) wirelessly. I don't always have my USB cable around.
Im having the same issue as a lot of other people (so i read). Mine has progressively gotten worse. My data connection shows active (sometimes it doesnt) but I cannot transfer data. After multiple restarts/battery pulls, i have data connection but NO app will transfer data except the web browser and dolphin. Even Gmail will not sync. So i can surf the web, but cant check my gmail app, pageonce, etc, etc. Wifi/bluetooth work fine. MOST of the time I can still text / make calls but not always.
I am hesitant to do a factory reset as the last time i did this, it did not change the problem and i was stuck with nothing because i had no data connection to connect to my google account with (nor wifi, i was on vacation).
I can get a 4G signal rarely in home. At work and mobile I am usually 4G.I expect to be on 4G for a few years (5G anytime soon?) and was thinking of spending $$$ on a Wilson repeater to pick up 4G with a directional antenna and amplifier for home: url...I am a licensed Amateur Radio operator and the principals involved seemed sound to me.Also, does anyone know how to put the Bionic into Field Test Mode?

Home net is a std Verizon issued router (only thing custom is the net name, channel, and crypto key) and the Bionic is able to get on the wifi no problem.

However, I can't find a way to do this on the Bionic. There's no option in accounts > Gmail. I HATE having the emails strung together like they were text messages. One of the major issues is losing attachments (ex: photos) in earlier emails once additional ones have been added to the "thread."

Spoke to the developer of Freecaddie and he checked and it is suppose to save courses to SD but Bionic saves to Internal Memory. With My Tracks even when I pick "Save to SD card" is saves it to Internal Memory. What is up with that and is there a way to correct it?I know my SD card is working because I have moved pics and music to it without a problem.

This has been the error message since January 18. Here are my phone specs:

I just updated my phone with the most recent update last week, however, as this has been an issue for going on two months, I don't think that the phone is the issue. I have done a FACTORY RESET and the error message is still showing up.
Numerous attempts to contact Twitter has not been successful.
I have been having some browser issues since the GB update. My phone seems to be having trouble accessing secure websites. And when I say trouble, I mean they will not open. I have not been able to log into Twitter since the day GB was released. The website will load fine until I try to go to the https login page and then won't go any further. I was even having trouble with gmail earlier today.

I can log in at twitter.com on my PC and the Seesmic app loads the tweets just fine. I wiped out my Bionic and then re-set everything up, and it was working fine until I added my FB account, and then removed the account. Now I can't add any new accounts at all.
I used Google's https: market.android.com to transfer all my apps from my Droid 1 to my Bionic. By and large it was seemless and quick. However, less than half of my Gallery pictures made it over. Because the Gallery is a stock app and not in the marketplace it is not on the the above market transfer desktop application.I also have astro and estrong on my device.
