Motorola Atrix 2 :: Twitter Pic Association In Contacts?
Feb 26, 2012
How do I associate a person's Twitter pictur, with their contact info. I have some contacts that I ONLY contact via twitter, and want them to show up in my contacts, but I want their associated Twitter pic to show in my contacts, and ideally be automatically updated, like Facebook does when a contact there updates their picture.
Since mid January, my Twitter Contacts have not been syncing. I get an error message: Sync is currently experiencing problems. It will be back shortly.
This has been the error message since January 18. Here are my phone specs:
System: 4.5.141.MB860.ATT.en.US Android: 2.3.6
I just updated my phone with the most recent update last week, however, as this has been an issue for going on two months, I don't think that the phone is the issue. I have done a FACTORY RESET and the error message is still showing up.
Numerous attempts to contact Twitter has not been successful.
I have an AT&T Atrix and I having problems loging into my twitter and skype accounts, Iam sure Iam using the correct login and password and it wont le me in, I created new accounts and it doesnt work either, what can I do?
Since 16:37 GMT my social networking app is not pulling in my Twitter feed. Is this the same for others? Facebook is still.coming at the moment but this feels very similar to last weeks "server side issue?
How do you sync contact's photo's from Facebook or Twitter? I know Moto Blur used to let you choose, but now with Blur not on the HD, I would like to find a way to sync those photos.
I have the Bell Mobility Atrix. For the most part it works fine. However, lately, this is what's going on. First I should mention that I have the Android Twitter app (from Twitter) installed on the phone and I can log in to Twitter, send/receive messages just fine with that. If, however, I go to Accounts > Add Account, then select Twitter in the Motoblur section (where all the other social media icons also appear), enter my credentials, I get a message stating Success!, Then, if I go to Messaging from the Home Screen, I see the Twitter icon, however it has a yellow exclamation point through it, and the message "Failed Connection".
So I cannot see/read/send messages to/from my Twitter inbox using the Universal Inbox (again, Twitter works just fine through the regular Android Twitter app). I have done all the normal troubleshooting, i.e. removed battery & SIM card, replaced them. Uninstalled and removed my accounts, rebooted phone. Reinstalled app and also re-added my Motoblur Twitter account, and each time it says "Failed Connection". I don't see online where I can configure my Universal Inbox accounts, only on the phone.
If you are presented with the dialog box to always do something with a particular file, but later change your mind and want to us another program or something, where do you go about chaging file associations? I haven't needed to do this yet, but have checked some of those boxes and always wonder what if I change my mind.
All my merged contacts end up using the Twitter handle, which in most case, isn't the person's name. There doesn't seem to be any way to override this other than unlink the Twitter account, then I end up with duplicate contacts. I know this has been discussed before but I couldn't find it in search. Is there any way to override this?
Right now I have multipule contacts on my atrix that are "linked." Is there anyway to permanently consolidate all the linked contacts into one and export all my contacts as a csv file for outlook and gmail?
I just recently did the 4.5.91 update on my phone. Feels like I'm relearning the phone. I am trying to find out how I can go about hiding those factory installed contacts (like the AT&T ones). I've attempted to delete them, but it says unable to delete read only contacts/files, but that they can be hidden. I've looked under options/edit, and don't see a hide option/setting.
Something happened to my contact database yesterday and now whenever I access any contacts, look at texts, etc. my phone is very slow to either start the SMS program (the force close/wait dialog continually comes up) or the contact takes a while for the data to appear. Is there a way to erase all the contacts out of the database and resync them all? If so, will erasing the contacts also erase call history, etc? If it does is there a way to not lose this information?
I'm looking for a way to transfer contacts (too many for SIM card copy, plus addresses) and calender from V9x to my new Atrix. Have MPT but I don't think the Atrix is supported.
I have an ATRIX 4G upgraded to Gingerbread. Today, out of the blue, all my contacts suddenly got deleted. I syned my contacts with my gmail account but all the contacts with phone numbers are gone. I only have email ids. I did not have a SD card till some days back so I am assuming my contacts were stored on the phone's internal memory/SIM card. I tried to import contacts from my SIM card but it did not have any contacts stored.
Is there any way I can recover those contacts? I tried changing the display setting in contacts but to no avail. I hope someone can help. I had some important numbers in the list which will be difficult to reaquire.
I understand that the ability to sort contacts on the Atrix by last name (or change their display to last name first) is not possible at this time. When can we expect this feature to be added?
I just got my Atrix today and apparantly was just dumb enough to upload a contacts CSV file exported from MS Outlook to my Motoblur account. It synced with my new phone and made lots of multiple entries, etc. what a mess! Now I'm reading that I can synch a number of other ways including using Windows Mobile Device Center to sync with my Outlook contacts. Now how do I stop Motoblur from synching/updating contacts and clear the phone contacts so I can sync another way?
I recently updated a bunch of apps on my phone that I have had for a while. I then started noticing that my battery would not last a half a day. It used to last over a day easily. Then today got a text saying that i have almost reached my 2gb data limit. So I installed the My Data Manager app and it is showing that the Contacts app is constantly communicating with something. I have an corporate exchange account for my email and contacts. How do i tell what is causing the contacts to constantly communicate?
Contact loads bit slow, when i type any name in contact search it is taking more than 10 seconds to list the name.i have sycned my contacts from gmail, but duplicate (multiple times) contacts are generated under Motorola Services Contact.whenever i listen radio it gets switch off automatically.
I changed my FB email so I had to delete/add my Blur FB account. It added, but I am not seeing any contacts. When I go into the Facebook group, it tells me "You do not have any contacts".
I lost my contacts with the update. I thought that I could use Motorala Media Link to sync the contacts with my PC (Windows 7) with Windows Live mail. Media Link does not show Contacts in its list.
I've just got myself a new Atrix on Orange UK and when setting up the email/calendar/contacts via the corporate sync app I found that contact were not making it through.
I administer the mail server so I watched the logs and the server does try to push the contacts, but they never appear on the Atrix.
I then googled a bit and came across this forum, and I came across a thread over in the Droid area back in aug 2010 that they had exactly the same issue. There were rather weak work arounds, including buying Touchdown, but that then doesn't play nicely with the motoblur widgets.
The notice of the new update 4.5.141 said to back up contacts before installing.
I have searched for a way to back up contacts to the computer but all I've found is how to back them up to an SD card.
(I understand that if they are in google contacts, I'm safe, and my phone has that, but the other Atrix in our home has many of the contacts saved as a Motorola contact.) That Atrix also does not have an SD card!
I had to do a master reset, but before I did, I exported all contacts to my SD card. However, when I try to import them, it shows that there are only three on there and they don't export. I plugged the phone in and looked on the computer, still nothing.
So i download an update for about 4 hours, it crashes at least twice in the process, and then when everything is finally working, I notice my contacts are completely gone. The ones that sync from facebook are fine, but I don't care about those. Lots of them are gone though. I have no idea what they were saved in before. What account... etc. This happened last time i updated the system, but i had my old phone so i just went to at&t and had them add them all. i didn't think it would happen again, but IT DID!
I have spent 2 days trying to sort this and Im beginning to think about sending the phone back. I have the Atrix and when I first opened it up I set up my Motoblur account. I also set up my facebook account to and then waited for all my contacts to be imported....but nothing! No contacts on the phone. However I keep getting "New Link Post" in the happenings box coming up from people on facebook, but there is only their names, no profile pics to show which would suggest its doing something.
Does anyone know where the pictures of contacts are stored? I naively thought that I could find them using the gallery app but that is not the case. It would be nice to have some of thoses photos available for reuse.
Today my atrix started force closing anything I try to access a contact. I took the extreme step to completed hard reset the phone with no extra apps installed still craches. The guilt party, of course, is motoblur.
The application Contacts Storage (process com.motorola.contacts) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again...sigh...Another vote for ditch motoblur account requirements.
I'm a brand new Atrix owner and am going nuts trying to figure out how to sync my outlook contacts into my Atrix Contacts.Motorola Media Link doesn't have Contacts as a Sync. choice. Phone Portal says I have no contacts and MotoBLUR is no
