the headphone port breaking/not connecting? I am replacing my third Bionic today for that exact issue. The first one a piece bent inside the headphone port, the second one a piece broke, and the third one just stopped connecting and producing sound.

My Phone . I replace the hdmi cable and the same thing was happening. I had Verizon replace my Bionic and the same thing is happening. Is this going on with other phones and what can i do? Cannt look at movies, photo or anything on my TV or any other TV.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI haven't used the lapdock in over a month.Recently attempted to connect and found I am unable.When I connect the lapdock it appears to connect normally, but then flashes back to the phone.While connected, the touch pad and keyboard are not functional. I also noticed I no longer get the options I use to when connecting (specifically no productivity mode).I have tried rebooting the phone, removing battery and repowering and reconnecting, no difference at all.
View 1 Replies View RelatedLike many of us, I have experienced the problem of noise from the headphone port of my Bionic. This was prevalent no matter what I was listening too (music, podcast, phone call, etc), and was most noticeable when in the car, plugged into the aux jack of my stereo.
A friend suggested getting a ground loop isolator, and I found one on Amazon for around $12 with free shipping. It arrived on Friday, and let me tell you, THE DIFFERENCE IS AMAZING! All the noise is gone, and my music sounds significantly better. No more hiss or noise. I didn't realize how much I had gotten used to it being there.

This just started last week. Once in Awhile my headphone jack will not work and the only way to get it to work is to power cycle the phone, and it is not just with headphones it has also happened with an aux cable. Now this is just a random occurrence Not sure what causes it just happens once in awhile. I've only noticed it twice in the last two weeks.

My bluetooth headphones will work for the phone, but not for game or music player audio.When I disconnect the headphones, the speaker works fine. When I reconnect them, I still get nothing, but again, after disconnecting, the speaker works.Rebooting the phone corrects the issue.The best I can relate this to is muting the phone during a meeting.I have use the volume rocker and my "Volume Control" app.If I mute it, and put it back quickly, it works. It's when I've had it muted for an hour or so that I see the problem.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI tried to connect to my Droid Bionic to my computer today and it does not give me an option to connect via USB...it just say's charging. There is nothing in the notifications dropdown area and the drivers are not showing in the device manager inside windows 7 Pro 64bit.
I uninstalled the drivers and rebooted then installed them again but still nothing.
I tried this on 3 computers both 64 and 32 bit. The cable is good and it is the one that came with the phone. It does charge but no data transfering.
I cant connect to my job's wifi because the wifi requires me to enter a user id/name but the Bionic's proxy setting dont have a field where a user id/name can be entered. Does anyone know of a different way to connect or a different setup?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI tried searching the forums but could not find anything. When I try to uninstall an app through the market it just hangs on the uninstall page. I have the same result in the app menu on the phone itself. The only way to get the market and/or the app menu on the phone to get going again is to reboot. I tried booting into safe mode and uninstalling apps through settings (app menu) but it still just hangs on uninstalling.

I have tried a factory reset, exporting contacts to SD card and importing, importing from Outlook, removing all contacts from GMail then syncing with Outlook, and just about every other thing I could find online to do. View 6 Replies View RelatedI have caller ID blocking on my cell phone number, because, I do not want everyone I call to see my number. I have always had it set up that way. Numbers in my contact list, however, have *82 programed in front of the number so friends, etc. will know it is me calling. This works fine when I call a contact, but, when I try to text the same number, I get the error "The message must contain valid recipients and content" and am unable to send the text. If I manually enter the same number without the *82, I can send the text, but, nobody knows who it is from, because, my umber will not be revealed. This never happened on my original Droid (running 2.2.1). This is a real pain in the ..
View 5 Replies View RelatedI noticed that my yahoo mail account was not showing all of my mail messages within the last day. I have verified that my mail account is working fine via pc and was able to check via the web browser on my Bionic. I removed the account and now when I go to add it back via the add accounts and selecting the "Yahoo Mail" option, I can't get passed the e-mail address password screen. It sits there for a bit with "adding your Yahoo! Mail account" and then gives me the message of "Login to the accunt failed, please try again." I am using the correct password and have been able to add this account manually, which I don't prefer since the way I am trying gives me a different icon for Yahoo. Does anyone know why this is happening?? Like I said, Yahoo Mail just started acting up yesterday and now it won't work and play well with others using the pre-defined mail setup in the "Add Accounts" area for Yahoo! Mail.
View 11 Replies View RelatedAlthough my WMV formatted Videos play fine on my home computer, I had no problem transferring them to my Bionic SD Card. Rather than playing, a small blue box opens at the bottom, which says "unable to open this type of file". Confirmed that the pre-installed Player should play MP4 and WMV. I tell them about my error message, and they recommend downloading the VLC Media Player (which works great on all files on my home computer, even on AVI and FLV files). Still won't play, so they refer me to Motorola, but before I call them, I also download, the seemingly popular MoboPlayer and MX Video Player.
The Motorola second level of support tells me to convert them from WMV to WMV, although my experience with Motorola's Tech support is that I sense that due to our mother tongues, it might be my fault for not parsing my words carefully enough. Feel free to contribute your WMV (or MP4 experience) to this thread, as the last advice that the Motorola Level 2 Tech Support gave me was to go to "setting", then "privacy" and then "restore data reset".
I have tried all possible solutions to get it to recover but have not been successful and now waiting on a replacement unit from Verizon. In the meantime I am using my old DroidX which seems so slow in comparison.The strange part is that before the last update I have never had a problem with my phone, could this BSOD be a result of the latest update.

I have pulled the battery and cleared the data on the camera app and still nothing. I really dont feel like starting over with it but I can if I have to later.
View 4 Replies View RelatedIn the past - namely when I owned the Droid X - while in a call, I was able to press the volume up and volume keys successfully to adjust the in-call volume while I held the phone to my ear. Albeit the screen was turned off, the volume adjustment responded properly. I find now with the Bionic that I cannot adjust the volume while the phone is against my ear and that I actually have to move the phone far enough away from my face in order for the screen to turn back on and allow for the volume to be adjusted.
This causes me to miss part of the conversation, Matt can this be adressed or is there a setting I am missing?
When accessing a contact group, the bionic will always open the last opened contact group. I worked through some settings with motorola last winter, but the problem has never corrected. I even received a new phone when the speaker jack crapped out, same issue.

View 5 Replies View Relatedi am having problems with my bionic adding accounts under the my accounts settings area. every time i try to add my picasa, facebook, Internet, or twitter it says 'an error has occurred please try again later'. when trying to add an email account it says auto setup is not available for the provider (tried with my gmail, yahoo, hotmail, & verizon accounts). i got around that by finding the manual values to fill in for each provider account, but that's just email. i am pretty miffed on the others not working.
mostly because i would like to have picasa in my gallery and be able to share photos from gallery or after taking with camera app to picasa and/or facebook. i do not want to have the facebook for android app on my phone, so just having the account set up in blur would be sufficient. i have tried taking my timezone off the automatic setting and retrying to add picasa account, still no joy. still in my 14 day trial with the bionic and am certainly being swayed by this issue
Well the other day I went to use my new headphones on my iPhone4 and the sound was terrible. The sound is distorted and crackly, to get the other speaker to go on I have to put the volume at 100% and that makes my ears bleed lol. I plug the headphone in my computer and they worked fine. I tried another set of headphones on my iPhone and Only sound would come out of one speaker. Same thing happens if I plug it into a stero. Im freaking out bacuse my iPhone is my baby and I have no idea what happen. I have already restored the phone and restarted the device multiple times and still nothing is working.

Today, randomly the headphone port stopped working, when I play music with headphones in, they are not recognized and music is played through the speaker instead. Do I have to replace the jack? I have rebooted many times. When the headphones are halfway in, the phone recognised them for a short while but then carries on playing through speaker. My software version is 6.0 BUNDLE 2647 (v6.0.0.600, Platform 6.6.0.223).
View 4 Replies View RelatedWithout a headphone jack inserted, or plugged into a speaker using the port my iPhone 5 16gb will not play any audio or video. It just freezes the phone when you try to play something for about 5-20 seconds and then does nothing.Â
If a pair of headphones are plugged in then everything works perfectly. Same is true through the charging connector. My ringer is also currently not producing any sound.Â
This has been tested on the following apps and is the same on all:Â

I have been using Zumocast, but that's only a one way deal. You can stream and download files from PC onto the Bionic, but not vice versa.Also, I tried to download a 1.4 gig mp4 file but it doesn't fully download, and makes my notification area on my Bionic force close and the whole phone just wigs out and requires a reboot. So Zumocast needs to do some updates in order to support large file transfer.
Anyway, I am looking for a way to transfer files from my phone to my computer(s) wirelessly. I don't always have my USB cable around.
Im having the same issue as a lot of other people (so i read). Mine has progressively gotten worse. My data connection shows active (sometimes it doesnt) but I cannot transfer data. After multiple restarts/battery pulls, i have data connection but NO app will transfer data except the web browser and dolphin. Even Gmail will not sync. So i can surf the web, but cant check my gmail app, pageonce, etc, etc. Wifi/bluetooth work fine. MOST of the time I can still text / make calls but not always.
I am hesitant to do a factory reset as the last time i did this, it did not change the problem and i was stuck with nothing because i had no data connection to connect to my google account with (nor wifi, i was on vacation).
I can get a 4G signal rarely in home. At work and mobile I am usually 4G.I expect to be on 4G for a few years (5G anytime soon?) and was thinking of spending $$$ on a Wilson repeater to pick up 4G with a directional antenna and amplifier for home: url...I am a licensed Amateur Radio operator and the principals involved seemed sound to me.Also, does anyone know how to put the Bionic into Field Test Mode?
