Motorola Droid 4 :: Display That "Sender" In The Top Row And The "Subject" In The Second Row?
May 25, 2012
I have a Droid4 linked to my Gmail account. In my Droid, each e-mail is displayed in two rows. The top row shows the "Subject" and the second row shows the "Sender" (in a smaller font). I would like to reverse the order -- that is, display that "Sender" in the top row and the "Subject" in the second row.
It is rather strange, but since I updated to iOS 4.0 and set up my Gmail account for Mail and Notes via IMAP, everytime I check my mail on my iPhone, and later delete it on my Mac, the iPhone Mail App shows scores of unread emails, with as No Sender, No subject and no option to delete the same. Anyone else experience this? Any workarounds/solutions?
I keep receiving multip copies of texts. For example let's say a friend texts me. I receive that same text multiple times throughout the day, even thought I deleted it. Another example, let's say that you have your Google Calendar sending you text reminders for events/meetings, etc. Even thought I deleted the first notice I still receive that exact same notice for something that happened two to five hours ago.
I received a text and the source was an actual name, as if the person was in my contact list. Is it possible to get a text and have a display name if the person is not in your contact list?
My Droid 2 Global started doing that today. I would press the button on top that turns ON the display, and the login screen appeared, as usual. Then, when I attempted to insert my password, the display would suddenly turn off before I could go any further, and when I pressed the top button again, it had returned to the initial login screen. I couldn't get past the password entry! I typed faster, got my password in, then went to settings to confirm the display time: it was set for 2 minutes to display shutoff. I then removed my password, just in case I couldn't get back on! Periodically, again, the display turned off very quickly for no reason, during the next hour or so. During that time, I turned my Droid off, then on, but it still didn't cooperate. Next, I removed the battery, and replaced it. Still no luck. The phone wasn't overly warm (that's ANOTHER question--why does it get so hot!), as it has been on other occasions.!
I recently broke my droid. The phone still turns on, but the screen is disconnected. I know the phone is working and I know that I have text messages, but I cant read them because the screen is no longer communicating with the phone. Is there any way to display the Droid screen onto the computer so I could navigate and use the phone just to check some text messages that I know I've missed and need to see?
I have received several MMS Picture messages and the picture will not display. The cloud where the picture and message are displayed is blank. I see a message "Loading" then it goes away and the cloud is left blank
I updated my profile to show I now have the RAZR Maxx HD, but it doesn't seem that I can change my display name. It shows up as ***, doesn't like the nickname for Richard I guess. Any way to change display name.
I had strange apps using up my battery after I did the upgrade.I managed to get them under control using the cache clear, restart, and *288 option 2 but now I'm seeing my battery life fading quickly again and noticed my screen is using up 50%.Is that normal battery usage for Display? I have my display set to auto brightness, no auto rotate, no roaming banners and time out 2 minutes
Droid Turbo Ballistic 64G (running v5.1). Since the last 2 Android upgrades, phone has stopped displaying a Groups tab in contacts (Favorites & All Contacts are only tabs shown)
I haven't found any settings to fix this, and validated that other brand phones did not lose Groups tab after the upgrade!
Note: phone allows contacts to be assigned to groups (as always); but haven't found a way to utilize groups & would like that capability back!
I'm probably just blind, but where is the setting (If it's still there) in the contact lists to have it only display contacts with a phone number? Otherwise I end up with every person I email on my exchange account on my contacts list.
Sometimes, perhaps just a couple times a week, I will hit the power or Home button to wake my phone and the screen will be very, very dim for 5 or so seconds. After that, the screen will be the normal brightness and the phone behaves normally. Most of the time, the screen pops on right away, and I can't find any correlation that explains when this might happen. It's not related to the environment's brightness, as AFAIK. It seems to be completely random.I have the screen brightness manually set at the lowest setting. Auto brightness is turned off.I got my X2 with the original Froyo firmware, and didn't see this happen until the current 2.3.4 firmware. But the older firmwares weren't current for very long, so perhaps it would have happened if I'd used the older firmware versions for a longer time
Why isnt there an option to display only contacts with phone? It used to be there in GB. It was there with my razr before the ICS update and then it went away and still not there when I got my razr HD. I liked that reature because I liked to sync all the contacts and then only show just the contacts with phone numbers.
Have a coworker with DroidX that has a black background for email display. Can't figure out how to do on my DroidX2. Tried display and account settings.
Intermittenly the display screen timeout resets to NEVER. Nothing that I do (or at least so I think) causes this. I don't know it until I notice that the battery is dangereously low. Don't have any apps that may cause this that I know of.
Used to have a similiar situation with the Original Droid where it would reset to 30 seconds.
Does this happen to anyone else and if so how did you get around it? Or is it yet another bug in the operating system? Happened pre-GB also. Doesn't seem to be more or less frequent with GB.
Wondering if anyone else if experiencing this. I've replaced it in the mm dock several times and it is so dim I can barely see it. I have tried setting the display brightness to max and setting it to auto with no effect.I've set the night mode brightness on the mm dock setting to as bright as it can get with no change. BTW it is 1:30 in the afternoon. Interesting that at night when it should be dim it is as bright as it can be. Checked the clock and the DX2 knows the correct time.
While on speakerphone the display will naturally go dark after awhile. But if I need to turn speakerphone off and remain in the call, how do I do this? Obviously I would need to bring the display back up so I can tap the speakerphone button, but I can't seem to get the display to come back while in the call. If I briefly tap the power button, the call is dropped. Touching the volume or camera button won't bring the display back, so what is one to do? Drop the call and call them back?
As soon as I answer a phone call, the display on my Droid 3 goes black. It does not wait until I put the phone to my face as the user guide says. It does not come back on until I press the power button briefly. Same with sending a call.
I'm not sure if I have the terminology right - but on the active display, is there a way to add additional features? I'd like to be able to see temperature (and today's weather upon click) and battery life. I could see these without 'logging in' to the phone. The screen that I'm thinking about is the one that shows the time and notification of unread messages.
I found the System Settings > Display > Brightness > Display Power Saver checkbox, but turning it off or on doesn't seem to do anything. In fact, I noticed my Maxx's screen was darker than the Droid 4's in the store the other day, and I went into the Brightness settings and found Display Power Saver unchecked, so I checked it just to see what happened, and the screen got brighter. My brightness is always on Auto. Unchecking it had no effect. Since then I've been able to detect no difference with it checked or unchecked.
I have taken my gmail contacts and sorted them into groups. For example Friends and Friends 2, where Friends are people I call all the time and Friends 2 are those I call once a year. On my D2G under Contacts>menu>Show/hide. It says "check the groups to hide." If I check Friends 2, should this not now hide all the contacts in the Friends 2 group?
In Contacts Menu there is also a "Show Group", and this has the options Create new Group, All contacts, favorites, Google, and Phone contacts. This is confusing to me. If I choose "Google" which I assume is all my Gmail contacts, shouldn't the Show/hide apply to those groups? This is not the case. I have checked and unchecked several groups to hide and they still display. I have also verified that the contacts are only in the groups that are checked. So they should be hidden.
I want be able to hide certain groups in contacts and only show them when I need them. I'm not getting this right. I have synced since organizing the the the Gmail contacts.
I have been trying to display battery percentage on the battery status icon as in the stock app but it was fruitless. What do I have to do to display the battery percentage on the battery status icon? In the case that it couldnt be done, how do I remove the battery status icon(stock) from the status bar while I download and display another battery indicator app from the market?
Razr Maxx was ran over by vehicle and display was crushed. You can't answer it but it rings and rings etc. My question is what do you do if your phone is ringing but you can't answer it because of a broken display. This mainly comes from a safety question as if you were in a car, bicycle type of accident and your display was busted. Only damage was from the screen display of the phone. Not looking for answers of how to get the phone fixed and repaired.
