I have a droid 3. My home wifi shows up on the phone as an avail. network. As instructed I type in the network password. Then it spends several minutes telling me its trying to connect. Then it doesn't connect. In the past, other devices (hp laptop and ipad) have had no problem connecting.

View 4 Replies View RelatedThis problem has persisted since day one with this phone, and has been an issue through all software updates. My phone is currently running the latest OTA software update from Verizon: 4.5.605.MB810.Verizon.en.us. The phone will connect to WiFi access points. It never seems to have trouble finding or negotiating a connection to a WiFi network. I can connect to open networks, WPA, WPA2, etc. I can connect to b/g/n no problem.
However, after using the network for a while, it always fails. The connection will suddenly stop working, and apps will start to claim that the network isn't available. The phone continues to think that it is connected to WiFi, but no data will flow. The only way to fix the problem is to disable to WiFi radio and turn it back on. The failure seems to be triggered by a volume of data. If I connect to a network and then don't download much, it seems to last longer (time-wise) than if I immediately start a download.
Different access points seem to trigger the problem sooner than others. I have a business-class HP Procurve 802.11n access point that will lock-up the phone almost immediately. I also have a consumer-grade Linksys 802.11g access point that will work for much longer, but still leads to failure. Suggestions to disable wifi encryption are NOT acceptable. Suggestions to disable wireless-N are NOT acceptable.
Have just recently bought a Motorola Razr M which is running stock ICS on Telstra in Australia. I am having constant problems with wifi connections dropping in and out whilst at home. It basically will display very good signal then all of a sudden drop out completely and reconnect. This happens without me moving or changing my hand position, sometimes whilst browsing web or downloading and sometimes whilst not using internet at all. It can happen as often as every few seconds or it may go 5-10 minutes before it starts. No other device I own has these problems, including my Motorola Atrix. I have spent hours changing settings in the modem (2.4g only) but nothing makes ANY difference. This is definitely a phone related problem (bug, hardware etc).

My wife bought me a secondhand BB 8900 [Vodafone] on the internet. She put in the sim from "Talk Mobile" and I am able to use the phone fine. I am also able to connect to my home BT WiFi and the phone shows up on it's screen that connected to my WiFi and it's ID. Is there any way I could access my Yahoo e-mail on this device using my home BT WiFi?
I have tried by going to Advanced Options ->Host Routing Table-> "Register New" -> Getting a message "Registration Message sent with an exclamation ! Sign" but no messages are seen/

Droid Turbo (Android Version 5.1) - WIFI works fine at home and seems to work other places. I have been using it for months at work. Recently I cannot connect. Other people can still connect. I had the connection saved...but even tried deleting it and researching, but it won't locate the server.

Downoaded the 1st of 2 updates/upgrades and after installing it, I was no longer able to connect to it. "Obtaining IP address" was all it displayed until disabling it and connecting to one of my neighbour's unsecured, poor signal, on and off connection.I've tried the tech people at Bell Mobiity and even my internet provider and they are clueless.Everything else in the house connects without issue, including my old blackberry bold 9000, xbox, 3 laptops, tv, etc. Just not my Atrix.I've rebooted the router several times, renewed WAN settings, switched to static ip. I've also pulled the battery for 2+ minutes, rebooted the phone, told it to forget, then re-entered the password to try to reconnect. Nothing.I also don't have any issue connecting to other wifi networks. Just the one in my house.

When I open up wifi settings it sees my network, as usual, and then I have to select it to "connect". Which I do. It scans to connect and then, within seconds, disconnects. It will keep scanning and I see my network there and could repeat this process over 100 times with the same results.

I had to do a reset on my phone and now I can't get to those pictures. They are still on the sd card because I can get to them if i plug into my computer. I have written the developers of the apps but have not gotten any response.

For example, when I open Google Talk, the application is disconnected and must reconnect...every time I open it up. Plus the WiFi icon at the bottom of the Xoom will go from blue color to white color automatically. I even have the setting checked to stay connected to this WiFi network when in range.

I am having problems connecting to my home network. The phones wifi turns on fine, gets an IP address and looks fine. However, the wifi and phone strength meters grey out and there is no connectivity to the internet on the phone. The wifi network is WPA protected.The phone worked fine on a different, unprotected, network I found up the street.I have a cliq that works fine on my network.I have tried powering off and powering off in airplane mode, neither of which make a difference.

this has been a problem since i've had this phone, but i assumed it was the source i was watching (Internet, netflix, etc), but eventually narrowed it down to my phone, or possibly router, are loosing the interent connection, despite the wifi symbol still in the notification bar.
toggling wifi off then on again will fix the problem most of the time, but usually only for a few minutes. i'm usually able to access the interent on my phone at first, but after a minute or two (or sometimes much longer) the interent drops again.
restarting doesn't change anything (on either my phone, or the router, or both). i have a new-ish netgear router (~1 year old), and i have no problems with any other wifi device that use the home router (including a roku, and another android phone).

The Admirals Club (American Airlines), the Red Carpet Club (United Airlines), the Chairman's Club (US Airways) often offer complimentary wifi access, usually via T-Mobile. Typically what you do is navigate to a web page co-branded with the airline's logo and click on "Wifi access" or a similar link.The problem is that the T-Mobile hotspot categorizes the Bravo as a phone, not a PC browser, and never takes you to the specific page for that airport lounge; I kept getting sent to a page where I was supposed to log in with a T-Mobile username. I finally gave up and called T-Mobile hotspot support who pointed me in the right direction even though they don't sell the Bravo.

At the bottom of the Settings list you should see 9 items in a section called Debug.Select the UAString item and choose Desktop.Press the back arrow to return to the browser. You should now be able to access the URL that gives you the lounge wifi access. You can set the UAString back to Android once you're connected to the wifi, I found.
I recieved the 905 update a few days ago and everything has been going good untill last night when i no long connect to 4glte it only has 3g available.

Now, no matter what the brightness widget is set to, when I have my droid docked on the windshield, I can't see the menu(s). Also, the navigation screen is MUCH darker, but managable.
