View 5 Replies View RelatedI just bought a Xoom wifi only because I thought it would be handy to have a tablet that I can use to swap files between my pc and my device, and now I see that though there is an sd slot it's pretty much just a decoration at this point. Does anyone know if there is a way to get this thing to work, or when Motorola/Andriod will fix that? And yes, I do know there are apps that I can use to access PC files over a wireless network, but i wanted to be able to bring a few sd cards worth of movies with me on the road when i travel since after i fill the device up with music and apps there's not a whole lot of room left.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI bought the device few days ago and on very same day updated to Android ver. 3.2. I use internet over my home Wifi and have a Netgear - WGR614 router. The browsing speed is very very slow and most sites dont open. The signal strength shown in xoom is - (-105 dBm 3 asu).Is this a issue with Android 3.2 update or my home wifi is weak? Would i be able to reset the tab to the original version?

View 11 Replies View RelatedI would like to think that I am somewhat OK with using the XOOM based on the fact that I have an original DROID and have been dealing with the ANDROID OS for some time now. I have yet to load any files on the XOOM itself, but I was wondering how I go about accessing files once they are put on the XOOM. I have uploaded pictures and placed those in the picture folder but they are easy to find due to the gallery. When plugged into my laptop I can see all of the different folders, but I cannot figure out how to get to them when not plugged into the laptop. You can do a long touch on the DROID homescreen and it will give you the options of seeing, shortcuts, widgets, folders and wallpapers. This is how I would access files with the DROID. It does not work the same for the XOOM.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a Motorola Xoom and I have just upgraded to ICS 4.0.4, prior to this I didn't have any problems accessing my wireless router...Netgear WGR614V6....but since the upgrade I've tried everything and I can't get Internet access. I go to settings and click on "Wireless" (You can see that it sees it amongst the list of Routers) and it shows that it is protected by the encryption "PSA-PSK". I put in the password and it goes through the motions but it doesn't connect. It shows that it is looking for an IP address but then it doesn't pass the authentication. I have even tried "WEP" but to no avail. Has anyone had this problem..is there a fix or do I have to go back to "HoneyComb".

View 7 Replies View RelatedJust want to know if anyone else is having this problem or is just on my Xoom. I can access Market but when I try to access My Apps I regularly get a FC. What it says is (process.com.android.vending) has stopped unexpectedly.
I have tried the Vol-Up-On start and cleared the Market cache with the same result. Would uninstalling an reinstalling Market be the next step.
It's wireless and has 3.2.1 installed, and has build # HTK75D. last week it was showing up on My Computer and I was able to save all in the system. Today I'm unable to access it in My Computer, in fact when I plug in the USB plug into the computer with Win 7 Pro it does not give a bing sound that sounds normally when a USB plug it plugged in. the same result when I tried a different hard drive. All my other USB toys work OK. I even installed "MotoHelper_2.0.53_Driver_5.2.0" with no positive results.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to find the best option for mobile internet access for my Xoom.I've ordered the D-Link DAP350 to be able to get wifi from wired internet, but am looking for a router that will accept an onlocked 3.5G modem. So, I looked at the CNet CQR-981 that will accept a USB modem (which the DAP350 apparently does not)The problem as I see it is that they all need some form of setting up/driver, and those will not be available for Andriod-or am I missing something? BTW, I've tried tethering my Xoom to my Nokia N8 both with wifi and BT.

View 15 Replies View RelatedI have a Wi-Fi Xoom with 32G of internal storage and Android 3.2. When I insert a 16G SanDisk Class 4 micro SD card and power up,I am unable to mount the card. I go to Settings>Storage, and get an error message, with the option to Force Close or Send Report. Most of the time, the app closes itself with no action on my part. If I insert the SD card while the Xoom is powered on, I get a different problem. I am able to get to the storage setting, and there is an option to mount the card. However, pressing on that option doesn't cause anything to happen. The card is formatted as FAT32. I have copied some files to it on my PC, and the files are there when I connect the card back to the PC. I've checked the board here, and not seen this problem addressed.

View 9 Replies View RelatedWe bought a Xoom to use on vacation instead of taking a laptop. I want to download photos and videos taken with my Canon Camera into my Xoom. I have the adapter for the Canon that allow me to convert the SDHD to a Micro SD, so that I can pop in ito the Xoom. I can view the photos fronm the Canon card on the Xoom, but it won't let me download them into the device. I don't want to have to go thru a computer to do this. So is it possible to download from the SD card onto the Xoom.
Also, when we watch the videos that were recorded on the Canon with the Xoom, they are at a slowed down speed. Would seem that if they were actually downloaded to the Xoom, it would take care of this issue.
I do not want to use the Xoom to take these photos. My Canon camera is the device we will use to capture the photos for multiple reasons.
Is the Xoom f.e. capable of moving apps to an sd card? I've tried several such apps, but none seem to work. Is this a hardware issue / limitation of the f.e or can someone recommend an app2sd card app for the f.e..?
