Motorola Droid X2 :: Will Not Connect To Home Wifi Network
Jun 5, 2012
my droid X2 will not connect to my home Wifi network. I have to reboot my router to get it to connect. It tries to connect but displays a message that it is "Getting an IP address" but never connects without a router reboot. This is a big pain.
Why won't my phone remain connected to my home wifi network? It's very frustrating to play Words With Friends when I have to disconnect then reconnect to my network every few minutes. The network signal strength is listed as Excellent.
If I unmask my WiFi network, I can connect to it with my Droid Razr.
If I turn off broadcasting, I know its still there - I have laptops and an iPhone that still find it an can connect to it. But my new RAZR doesn't seem to know how to locate/connect to it .
What settings do I need to change to get this to work.
I can not connect my new iPhone 4S to my home WiFi network, whereas other networks are OK. A possbile explanation - the password contains 26 characters, and I haven't tracked don't how to change that password.
I currently have the blackberry bold 9700 for tmobile.I can connect to my home network but i cant use apps such as the facebook app or the IM+ app or any social networking apps of that sort.Whenever i do try, it says you need a mobile carrier internet connection or a wifi connection. I have a white signal(showing im connected) to my home network but nothing will work.
I still have to wait for full-functionality on my X10 when the service provider gets updated to a new contract in a few weeks. However, I cant get it to connect to my home wi-fi network. It recognises the network and remembers it. The Network Key is good. Ive tried both with and without 'data traffic enabled', and of course the phones Wi-Fi is turned on- Ive tried that both through the main screen and through the Wi-Fi Settings screen.I got a shock bill last week because the phone was using dial-up connection instead of Wi-Fi without me realising it!Also, how can I ensure it chooses unsecured or 'FreeZones' when on the move over dial-up? I want to be able to use the Navigation function, but worry about the phone being connected too much, even with the internet bundle I am subscribing to.
I've got data traffic, and Wi-Fi ticked and I can see my network on the Wi-Fi Networks list but when I click on it and enter the password beneath Wi-Fi it says "disconnected".What's even weirder is that I managed to connect the phone to the internet the first time I booted it up for five minutes, but since then I haven't been able to recreate that success . What should I do?
While in random wifi zones, no problems. However, while i'm at home using my own network, all of a sudden i can't access the play store. says 'No Connection, Retry'.... Problem started months ago, i google it and see people with similar issue but none of their fixes worked for me.
I recently changed to EE and wanted to add my new number to iMesssage, so I looked on apple support and found the solution so i did it and reset my network settings but now when I try connect to my home WiFi it wont work?
Basically I was streaming a video on you tube the other night, until my Nexus 5 froze up. My phone was taking way too long to respond, so I decided to hold the power button until the device shut off, and I held the power button again to turn it back on. (duh) As soon as it turned back on, I was no longer able to connect to my home WIFI. So now whenever I try to connect to our home WiFi, I get an "authentication error" and the WiFi network status just comes up as 'saved" instead of "connected". My mobile Data works fine, it's just my WiFi that isn't working anymore. Did I accidentally fry a component within my Device that allowed me to connect to a WiFi network?
I have a new 5c iPhone but can not connect to my Wi-Fi Home Wireless Network as my new phone does not recognize my password. How can I change the password and move on?
I have Motorola DEXT Motoblur ORANGE and yes it is unlocked...When on home network wifi turns on but no signal. YES i have router ON, also I have tried all over the city to get free wifi or any wifi signal at all and nothing. When on roaming when I travel it works perfect. Signal, multiple networks, internet works great... When I come back to my home network same story again...
I am having problems connecting to my home network. The phones wifi turns on fine, gets an IP address and looks fine. However, the wifi and phone strength meters grey out and there is no connectivity to the internet on the phone. The wifi network is WPA protected. The phone worked fine on a different, unprotected, network I found up the street.I have a cliq that works fine on my network.I have tried powering off and powering off in airplane mode, neither of which make a difference.
I have a 6 week old ZOOM WiFi which in the last week has started to endlessly reboot when attempting to connect to my home network. It stops rebooting when Wi-Fi is turned off. When WiFi is turned back on, the rebooting starts again. Before I realised what was causing the reboot, I restored it to factory settings, and this seemed to work for a few days. No apps have been downloaded since then. I have tried a soft reboot without success.
After installing an app called WIFI Analyzer and seeing all the AP's in my neighborhood I wanted my home network in a less congested area of the spectrum. I changed my home network and now I can't see my AP? The only thing I can think of is that the Razr Maxx does not support 5GHz as I see from the product spec page that N networks are supported.
When I got my Atrix 2 days ago, I brought it home and connected to my home wifi with no problem. Downoaded the 1st of 2 updates/upgrades and after installing it, I was no longer able to connect to it. "Obtaining IP address" was all it displayed until disabling it and connecting to one of my neighbour's unsecured, poor signal, on and off connection.I've tried the tech people at Bell Mobiity and even my internet provider and they are clueless.Everything else in the house connects without issue, including my old blackberry bold 9000, xbox, 3 laptops, tv, etc. Just not my Atrix.I've rebooted the router several times, renewed WAN settings, switched to static ip. I've also pulled the battery for 2+ minutes, rebooted the phone, told it to forget, then re-entered the password to try to reconnect. Nothing.I also don't have any issue connecting to other wifi networks. Just the one in my house.
My Xoom post upgrade to 4G is now assigning the IP address of 192.168.20.1 to the device usb1 everytime it is rebooted. This apparently hardwired configuration conflicts with my homenetwork's default gateway. Is there anyway to change this with out rooting the device? I would rather not have to re-IP my home network or not be able to connect to any network via Wifi who uses that IP address as a default gateway.
The last few nights I've been annoyed to wake up to error message on my D3 about Backup Assistant not being able to connect because the network is unavailable. I have no idea what that error statement is all about, but the thing that made me really angry is that there is no reason for Backup Assistant to be running at all. With the Droid 3, all my contacts are already backed up via the exchange server and google. I have no use for this bit of VZW bloatware, which was apparently initialized by folk at the VZW store who activated my phone.
To make matters worse, there is no option on the Droid for turning off Backup Assistant. It lets you change the time it runs, but there is no easy option to tell it not to run. However, I discovered a work-around today which doesn't involve rooting or anything like that: Go to Settings> Manage Applications> All, click on "Contacts sync" and then "clear default." Backup Assistant will not run again unless you reinitialize it.
I have a droid 3. My home wifi shows up on the phone as an avail. network. As instructed I type in the network password. Then it spends several minutes telling me its trying to connect. Then it doesn't connect. In the past, other devices (hp laptop and ipad) have had no problem connecting.
when I have both wifi and 4g lte running on my Droid Razr Maxx (still running gingerbread), both indicators are blue. As I understand it the 4g lte indicator should turn white when I turn on wifi, which is what is use to do.
These days I use my d1 as a wifi only clock radio/bedroom internet device. For some reason gmail no longer syncs on its own. I have to manually sync to get emails.. anything I can do? Screen is always on so I don't know why it doesn't sync
Have just recently bought a Motorola Razr M which is running stock ICS on Telstra in Australia. I am having constant problems with wifi connections dropping in and out whilst at home. It basically will display very good signal then all of a sudden drop out completely and reconnect. This happens without me moving or changing my hand position, sometimes whilst browsing web or downloading and sometimes whilst not using internet at all. It can happen as often as every few seconds or it may go 5-10 minutes before it starts. No other device I own has these problems, including my Motorola Atrix. I have spent hours changing settings in the modem (2.4g only) but nothing makes ANY difference. This is definitely a phone related problem (bug, hardware etc).
i have two droid razrs on my verizon account. they are both currently with no service due to my brother sticking me with a 1500 dollar phone bill that being said one of them will not connect to wifi says "error" and thats all and the bluetooth isnt working either during my research i have found others with this same problem but no solution if neither connected i would probably shrug it off as verizon shut off my wifi access but that is not the case i have done hours of research and cant seem to find a solution on my own so my question or rather questions are as follows: How do i fix this issue if even possible? What could have caused this issue? What can i do to prevent this from happening again? Should i just try and get a replacement when i pay my bill and get service reconnected? my phones are not rooted or altered in anyway they are stock exactly the way you buy them at verizon store?
I cant connect to my job's wifi because the wifi requires me to enter a user id/name but the Bionic's proxy setting dont have a field where a user id/name can be entered. Does anyone know of a different way to connect or a different setup?
I have a DROID 3 with Android 2.3.4. I work on a college campus and am mobile a good bit, so I am usually bouncing between Wifi and 3G. I have noticed that when I am listening to music on my BlueTooth the Wifi will scan, Obtain IP Address and flip back to scan, obtain IP address then turn Wifi OFF entirely.
If I am not listening to music over Wifi, even when I use a physical 2.5mm plug listening to the same service "google music" it connects fine every time.
I just got a replacement iphone 4s and am having trouble connecting to my home network. When I type in my password it says it cannot connect to the network. Before I got my replacement, my previous 4s was able to connect to the same network.
So, I used to be able to listen to music at work without using my data plan. I could just connect to the guest wifi. Selecting the "Click to connect" would bring up the web page where we log in and I was up and running. Now when I select "Click to connect", I just get a big lock with a cross through it. Selecting "Use network as is" doesn't do anything.
Since the intial update (5.5.893) I have had this problem. When I turn on wifi, it takes about 30 seconds for my phone to connect. This happens whether I am at home, at work, or over a friends house. Here is what happens.I turn on wifi with my widget.? Wifi networks available immediately comes up, then goes away and the question mark over the wifi signal remains (on the left of the status bar).About 90 seconds later, I am connected to wifi.If I go to WiFi settings during this time, It does not list any WiFI networks. Then (after the previously mentioned 90 seconds) the wifi network appears, finds the IP address, and connects
