Motorola Droid 2 :: How To Change Pocket Detection Settings

Sep 15, 2011

I turned it on, but now since I upgraded to the current version OS, I cant find it under settings ---> display. I am having a problem with my screen shutting off randomly, and I think this is the culprit, I just can't figure out how to turn it back off.

Motorola Droid 4 :: In-Pocket Detection Not Working Properly?

Feb 14, 2012

It does work correctly when i put it in my pocket it does shut the screen of, When i see the problem is using the phone in portriate mode. it will just shut the screen. Seems to happen whent he phone is straight up and down ti will just lock the phone. i can unlock it and it goes straight back to locked. I have my screen time out set to a minute, and since i disabled it a few days ago i haven't had the issue. and also seems like the setting may be related to pulling down the notifications bar. It kind of makes me think my finger is hitting the light sensor that makes the phoen think it is in my pocket. Maybe that setting needs increased to a few seconds before it locks. Or maybe we just need an option under in pocket detection to set our own preference in seconds from 1 to 10. Either way wanted to report the problem and see if others have noticed this.

Motorola Droid Bionic :: How Does In-Pocket Detection Work

Feb 11, 2012

I'm thinking that it should be able to sense darkness and turn the screen off. I have it checked and don't know if I'm impatient but you would think a couple of minutes should be enough time. I had screen timeout set to never so I tried it with a timeout set. I was thinking my shirt pocket was not dark enough so I put it in my jeans, still nothing. I even tried sticking it under a pillow and still nothing.

Motorola Droid Turbo :: How To Change Settings On Command Center Widget

Nov 3, 2015

I just got my Droid Turbo, and while I was setting it up I vaguely remember seeing a settings screen for the command center widget. I didn't really understand yet what the command center was at that time, so I didn't change any of the settings. Now, however, I'm trying to get back to see what setting changes are possible and for the life of me can't figure out how to get to the settings screen.

When I tap on an open area of the command center near the top left (right under where the target GPS icon is displayed), a screen opens up for a VERY BRIEF quarter of a second and the top says "Command Center", as if that is going to open the settings screen. But then it immediately changes to the weather detail screen.

how do I get back to it?

My question is if Nokia could make an update that gives the phone Face Detection, Smile Detection, and all those other modern camera features? It seems unlikely to me but I was just wondering if they could do this, and if they, can they do it soon.

Motorola :: Droid X2 Ringer Turns Off Despite Settings

Jan 2, 2012

I've seen this issue covered in a few non-motorola forums. Despite the fact the I have the ringer turned on, a ringtone selected and the volume turned up, I don't get a ring during incoming calls.Powering the phone off and on seems to be a temporary fix, but (according to the non-motorola forums), the issue may have something to do with a smart battery profile (something I did not enable) and can only be permanently fixed by a factory reset. If that's what it takes, I'm more likely to return the phone and find a model without this bug.

I'm trying to set my Droid Bionic phone up with a static IP address because of a finicky router. I've checked the "Use static IP" box and entered all of the settings (ip address, gateway, dns, etc.) but my phone still keeps trying to use DHCP to get settings from the router and eventually fails. How do I set a static IP address on this phone? This option worked on my old Nexus S 4G phones with Gingerbread and Ice Cream Sandwich. I don't want to use up any more of my data on Verizon than I have to.

Motorola Droid Razr HD :: Volume Settings Changed With JB?

Dec 8, 2012

Is it just me or with the upgrade to JB has Moto taken the colume controls on this phone and downgraded the performance of the speaker?

Having mild hearing loss I loved the fact that with this phone my ringtones and notification sounds could wake up the dead. For normal situations I would have to slide the volume controls to the mid point of the slide bar, but when I was in a noisy environment I could slide the controls all the way to the right and be sure I wouldn't miss a call. Now after the upgrade it seems like even with the slider controls all the way to the right the volume is no where nearly as loud as it used to be.

Is this just me or did Moto make a change with the update? If so is there anyway to get back to the pehnenomal speaker performance we had under ICS?

Motorola Droid X :: Any Way To Adjust Auto Brightness Settings?

Nov 14, 2011

Is there any way/app to adjust the Auto Brightness on the Droid X? The brightness that the phone picks is way too bright, so I normally turn it down/off. But when I am in direct sunlight I can not see the screen well enough to find the brightness settings to adjust them so I can use the phone.

I currently use the Android Power Control Widget to change my Brightness settings. It does a good job for me, except in the above mentioned issue. I have looked in the Android Market Place, but most applications just talk about predefined brightness settings. I found one called Custom Auto Brightness, but it does not seem to work on the Droid X.

Motorola Droid 3 :: Noise Reduction Settings For The Camera?

Sep 14, 2011

I upgraded in July from a LG enV Touch. As the Verizon rep. so correctly pointed out, Verizon currently offers no feature phone that isn't a massive downgrade from the enV Touch. It's probably safe to assume that this isn't going to change anytime soon. Kind of dissapointing. The closest thing to my old phone that Verizon offers is the Droid 3. I remember lusting over the Droid 1 when it first was released, so the 3 seemed like the natural choice. So far I have been happy with the phone. Android has taken some getting used to but beyond that it's a massively better phone than my old enV! I have had a couple of issues though which would be nice to see resolved:- bluish tint from camera. I make part of my living as a photography, so this one bothers me quite a bit. I'm very used to using camera gear that either has very good auto WB or at least lets you tweak the WB for specific lighting conditions.

- Noise reduction settings for the camera. The camera defaults to some pretty aggressive(smeary) noise reduction. I'd rather have some luminance noise than the water color effect. Phone locks up when activating the camera. I have to removed the battery to reboot it. This is one that has sort of been solved, but not in a great way. It was suggested to me that I have photos saved to the internal memory rather than my Sandisk microSD card to avoid this issue. It did work but i'd rather be saving to the SD card from the start.- Airplane mode doesn't work correctly. Once the phone is in airplane mode it will not come out of it. I have to turn my phone off and back on again.- When powering on the phone in silent mode, the phones still makes noise while booting.- Battery consumption seems high all around. I feel like it is even excessive in stand-by.

- This last one is probably not doable... it would be nice to have the option to remove all the garbage Verizon puts on the phone that I will never ever use. I could say the same thing about my enV Touch! Verizon had tons of crap on it that is absolutely of no use to me but obviously consumed system resources on some level.I realized from looking online that a lot of these issues have been brought up before. I don't think it hurts to reiterate that they are actually glitches that many of us experience in day-to-day use.
