Motorola Droid Turbo :: How To Change Settings On Command Center Widget
Nov 3, 2015
I just got my Droid Turbo, and while I was setting it up I vaguely remember seeing a settings screen for the command center widget. I didn't really understand yet what the command center was at that time, so I didn't change any of the settings. Now, however, I'm trying to get back to see what setting changes are possible and for the life of me can't figure out how to get to the settings screen.
When I tap on an open area of the command center near the top left (right under where the target GPS icon is displayed), a screen opens up for a VERY BRIEF quarter of a second and the top says "Command Center", as if that is going to open the settings screen. But then it immediately changes to the weather detail screen.
On my Moto Droid Turbo I am using the Command Center widget and for the most part, like it a lot. I had a question about the calendar(s) that it polls to show on the right side. It is showing an other calendar I have access too, even though on my calendar app, I have it set to not display.
Is there a way the Command Center widget can be told what calendar(s) to use? The entries it shows me are not really important to me for the most part (I only have access to the other calendar for occasional reference).
I want lock the screen or power off the phone by using a voice command if my friends grab the phone out of my hand to read what I am texting.
I want to be able to say "Hey Droid Turbo, lock the screen" or something similar. I tried the "Goodnight" command but the screen still stays on even though I have it set to be off while sleeping. How to achieve my goal?
Home screen droid turbo. Circle clock widget. What is that top bar measuring. I know bottom is battery. I see what almost looks like the gps symbol next to the bar. Wondering what exactly this is representing....
I recently purchased a Droid Turbo and would like to change the option of the calendar display to another option like settings. I really enjoyed the Droid Maxx command center option of the battery status which flipped to the settings option...
So I usually DO NOT have the Google search bar widget that stays at the top of all of my home screens but now it's there. Not only that but it is unresponsive, I can't type in it, the mic doesn't respond, it's there but not working and I don't want it to begin with. My phone did a bunch of updates today, I wonder if some update messed it up. It has moforoot and KitKat....
While I like the functionality of the Moto Command Center it doesn't fit my phone's theme very well. I am using Nova Launcher with UP icon pack. I'm looking for something different. What do you use for a home screen weather/clock/battery (if included) widget?
Is it possible to change the font on the turbo? I have friends who have Samsung, who are not very tech savvy and have adjusted different fonts, but I dont see an option on this phone.
I bought the Droid Turbo at the end of November. I've used the camera some, but when I opened the photos in Photoshop, they're only 72 dpi and I'd like them to be 200 dpi.
Ideally, any time I make or receive a call I'd like for the screen to be automatically turned off as if I always immediately hit the "screen on/off" button once the call was active.
To describe in more detail: I want the screen to turn off independent of how close it is to my ear. If I want the screen on, I want to have to hit the "screen on" button. This would prevent me from ever accidentally hitting screen buttons when I position the phone on my collar during calls as opposed to holding it against my head.
This may or may not be a Turbo-only issue, same qualifier for Lollipop as well. But, it is noticed, so I ask.
When I put an event on the stock Google Calendar, I specifically have my settings to say NO notifications. I look at the event when created and it has NO notifications. Yet 10 minutes before the event like clockwork, boom, notification.
I'm going to go into the desktop version of Calendar and see what I can do there, but this notification stuff is annoying.
I have a Droid Turbo, and on both KitKat and Lollipop you have to change volume settings separately. I'm always turning down my volume, just to get a full blast text alert that startles me right out of my seat. On previous phones (including other Motorola droids) all notification volume settings were linked and changed as one. Why is that not a thing anymore? How does that not just make the most sense? I know there are apps out there that could do this, but I don't want to have to download another app to simplify something that should be simple in the first place.
I've been told by Verizon and by Motorola that I need to do a factory reset. (Moto Approach stopped working yesterday and we can't get it to start again.)
Before doing that, is there any way to backup my folder settings (which apps are grouped together in which folders on my home screens)
I recently updated my Droid Turbo to Android 5.1. I did a factory reset immediately after the install and set up as a new device. I went to settings to change the launcher from Launcher3 (Turbo's default launcher) to Google. When I went in to the settings screen, the "Home" option was no longer available.
I tried force stopping and clearing memory on Launcher3 as well as Google App, but the Home option still isn't showing up.
Does the Turbo not have the ability to change the Launcher to the standard Google launcher? I miss swiping right to get to my Google Now cards .
I just finished a full wipe and chose to set up everything from scratch and not from Google backup. I know how to set up sounds for within each messaging app. But I can't find where to change it for Gmail app emails.
How do you change the missed call notification? I have a song set for my ringtone and when I miss a call it plays the full song and won't stop. I've had to reboot the phone to make it quit.
I have received a few phone calls within the past couple years where my called ID shows only "716" rather than the full number "716-xxx-xxxx". These calls were from mostly cell phones.
Is there away I can toggle this on... On my phone? Droid Turbo 1.
I don't need it all the time but it would be useful when making working calls when on the road so that they don't have my personal cell # and nobody ever answers " unknown" so *67 isnt the key.
I also am not really interested in spoofing my number with a fake one or creating a Google voice (or similar account) and then having two phone #'s to worry about.
On my droid turbo I have my contact list on the contacts icon on the main screen. In the phone dialer contacts list I have my wife's contact list that comes up. I can't figure out how to change that to my contacts lost.
I have a Motorola Droid Turbo. I have never locked the phone. I downloaded ANDROID PAY app last night. It required a screen lock to secure credit card. I agreed and set up a pattern screen lock. I got tired of unlocking phone every time. I went to disable the screen lock and I am NOT ABLE to do that. The security settings for NONE and SWIPE have been grayed out and are no longer an option. I have removed ANDROID PAY and still have issue.
How do you change the menu options? And by menu, I mean when you use the drop down notification bar and tap the icon in the upper right. On mine, I have "Owner", Brightness, Settings, etc. I'd really like be able to silence my phone from this menu. There are more spaces, so I feel like I should be able to change what's on there. And also, how do I set myself as the owner?
