View 3 RepliesI'm on my second Motorola Standard Dock for the Droid. In each case the dock worked fine for a short time, then phone suddenly stopped going into "dock mode" when inserted. The connection is OK: Still charges the phone. Just no dock mode features, which is why I bought the dock in the first place. Tried every combination of seating while turned on/off, seating then turning on/off, powering and de-powering dock, etc. No dice. Phone docks fine and enters car dock mode with car cradle. Using provided charger(s) with dock(s). Have not tried full reset of phone due to hassle of reinstalling apps, etc., but powered up, removed battery, etc. Am I really so unlucky as to get two defective docks or is there a software issue here?
View 10 Replies View RelatedWhen I select the Where Am I option in the Card Dock app, it comes up fine and shows where I am and my progress. However, when I select the Google Maps button, it brings up a web based Google Map application instead of the DroidX's Map application as described in the instructions I've read.
View 8 Replies View RelatedThis is something I've dealt with and have tried to address ever since ICS was released. Each night I set my phone into the standard dock (non-usb one), and the bedside mode comes up as it should and the screen dims after a minute or so as it should. It is usually around 10 to 15 minutes after I dock the phone that the problem occurs. What happens: The bedside alarm app is removed from the screen, revealing the home screen in landscape mode. My screen then times out (shuts off) as it should, because the bedside alarm clock is not the active window. My alarms work fine, but I can't see what time it is when I wake up before my alarm goes off unless I turn the screen on and look at the lock screen. I've tried factory resets, fxz file, removing all apps from recent apps list, resetting the alarm app data, nothing seems to.
View 9 Replies View RelatedWhen I put the phone in the navigation dock, the phone refuses to display anything in portrait orientation. This seems to be a common issue observed in other forums.IMO, navigation is much better in portrait mode, as it allows you to see farther ahead. Is this behaviour by design? If not, it there a plan to fix it or allow us to change it?
View 11 Replies View RelatedThis feature doesn't appear to work. At least not when I put the phone in my poclet. How is it supposed to work? Does it detect the absence of light? Maybe my pocket isn't dark enough?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI turned it on, but now since I upgraded to the current version OS, I cant find it under settings ---> display. I am having a problem with my screen shutting off randomly, and I think this is the culprit, I just can't figure out how to turn it back off.
View 6 Replies View RelatedIt does work correctly when i put it in my pocket it does shut the screen of, When i see the problem is using the phone in portriate mode. it will just shut the screen. Seems to happen whent he phone is straight up and down ti will just lock the phone. i can unlock it and it goes straight back to locked. I have my screen time out set to a minute, and since i disabled it a few days ago i haven't had the issue. and also seems like the setting may be related to pulling down the notifications bar. It kind of makes me think my finger is hitting the light sensor that makes the phoen think it is in my pocket. Maybe that setting needs increased to a few seconds before it locks. Or maybe we just need an option under in pocket detection to set our own preference in seconds from 1 to 10. Either way wanted to report the problem and see if others have noticed this.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm thinking that it should be able to sense darkness and turn the screen off. I have it checked and don't know if I'm impatient but you would think a couple of minutes should be enough time. I had screen timeout set to never so I tried it with a timeout set. I was thinking my shirt pocket was not dark enough so I put it in my jeans, still nothing. I even tried sticking it under a pillow and still nothing.
View 3 Replies View RelatedIs there a way to control music so that if my Turbo is in my pocket, I can speak something like "Ok Google, next track."?
The new Microsoft Band 2 as far how well it controls music?
Does anyone know how to restore the In Pocket Detection function? Since ICS update it isn't in the Settings, Display menu. The touch screen is much more sensitive now and when the phone is in my pocket it accesses apps and commands, etc.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI moved from the Photon 4G with the Motorola vehicle dock over to the Atrix 2 with the Motorola vehicle dock... No matter what I have tried, the phone insists on going into landscape mode when in the dock. I need to have the dock in portrait mode, as thats the only way it fits on my dash without obstructing anything.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI noticed today that while my Atrix's is docked in the car dock, it will not display the current speed. But if I go into setting and select display compass heading (or something like that), it will display the compass heading in the location icon. Is there anyway to get the current speed to display in the icon instead?
View 3 Replies View Relatedso It seems my car dock isn't charging my phone. It was 90% when I left the house remained plugged in on the dock for an hour except for one phone call. I used Navigation for maybe 10 min and it was still at 90% when I got to work. I'm wondering if anyone else is having this problem. still have to test to see if its the charging port in the car that i'm using or not. It might be but the only other one I have in the car I can't use and connect to the car dock because it's too far away
View 10 Replies View RelatedI often park my Droid X in it Motorola Car Dock when I am on a long drive (2 hours) and usually turn on maps, gps, and bluetooth. Battery indicator top right shows lighting bolt thru battery in upper right of home page every time I look and looking at the cigarette lighter end of the cord, I see the red light on. Starting the trip, I verify I am 100% charge but at the end of the trip, I am not fully charged. why am I dot fully charged if on car battery the full time? If I assume my cable is ok and it is really connected full time to the car source, is it possible the usage current can be more than the charge current thus resulting in a never fully charged phone at the end of the trip? Or is this simply an indicator of a bad or intermittent cable?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI noticed that the phone knew that it is placed in a dock (vs a charger) and it also knows what type of dock it is (Car, HD, etc.)How does it work, is it custom USB wiring? a magnet?
View 8 Replies View RelatedI've been wakened several times a night by notification tones randomly going off for no reason while phone is docked. Seems a lot of folks are having the same experiences. I expect to hear the initial phone docking notification and the battery full notification is turned off so that aint it. I'd turn off notifications but that's a pathetic fix.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI noticed after using the phone in the car dock, battery strats draining nearly twice as fast compared to before docking it and it is sinsibly warmer just sitting in standby with screen off. It goes back to normal battery use if I reboot the phone.
View 12 Replies View RelatedWhen I plug the phone into the USB port on my PC it charges. When I plug the Multimedia dock into the PC and dock my phone it does not.I moved from the Droid1 to the Droid4 and have a dock from my Droid1 that works as it should. The new Multimedia dock for my Droid 4 will not charge the phone while docked unless I plug it into the dedicated charging plug. Doing this, I lose the ability to transfer data back and forth via USB.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm not a fan of the car dock app. I can only add one app to the shortcuts and I can't replace the existing ones. There's also a big back icon taking up space in the map app that I can't disable. Plus, I'd rather just use the default Google Navigation app instead. It has a better "follow me" feature when not navigating. Well, at least I like the first person perspective option versus the aerial point of view.
So, is it possible to replace the car app with a 3rd party app? I'd like it to launch instead of the Motorola one when the phone is docked. If so, what's a good 3rd party car app?
If that's not possible, then can I completely disable the car app from launching when docked? I'd prefer to keep using the Motorola car dock since I have Smart Actions that turn on GPS and Bluetooth when docked. I can press menu then exit to go to the home screen but when I press the home button it launches the car dock app again.
I bought the official Droid 3 Vehicle Dock from Verizon's web site. I knew that it did not come with the USB charger that plugs into the lighter socket, but that's OK because I have several of them. But I was surprised to see that the special Micro USB cable with the audio jack was not in the box.So is Verizon selling the car dock without the special cable that is shown in the instruction booklet? Or did I just get lucky and they forgot to put it in my box? I can't find a place to order that cable either from Verizon or direct from Motorola.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI recently ordered a Droid 3, which came with free car dock and home dock. But when the phone is hooked up to the car dock-which is suppose to help the phone be "hands free"- the sound won't work. In other words, when I get a text and it says, "say Listen to hear your text" I can't ? This also happens when I try to use the navigation. I can see and it works fine, but I can't hear the instructions unless I take it off the dock, which is where I need it to be.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have two minor issues with the car dock/ vehicle navigation app. 1. Can I turn off the autolaunch when the phone is placed in the vehicle dock? When I put the phone into the dock, the app immediately opens, and I don't want it to. If I already have Pandora or Navigation running , I want that app to stay up and running instead of the phone opening the car dock homescreen. 2. Can I have the home button go to the car dock home screen when the home button is pressed while the phone is in the dock? Currently,if my phone is in the car dock and I press the home button, it takes me to my regular home screen. To get to the vehicle home screen, I have to pull down the notification bar and select the notification. I am currently using GO Launcher, but I think the issue still occurs with the stock launcher.
View 4 Replies View Relatedhow to disable the auto text read back while in the car dock. There's no way to reply. I have a command one Bluetooth that works with motospeak so that I can be hands free while driving. The auto read out function over shadows this, making it worthless.

View 1 Replies View RelatedWhen listening to music with the phone not in the Car Dock, I can view all songs, albums, artists, etc.... in the library. When I put the phone into the car dock, the library shows one folder, "Recently added", with nothing in it. View 2 Replies View RelatedSince upgrading to ICS on my Droid RAZR MAXX, the volume output on my HD dock is either full blast or off. I'm not able to control the volume.
View 11 Replies View RelatedSince the 2.3.4 update (and the factory reset that went with it) I'm getting my notification sounds at night while in the charging cradle. I thought the cradle software was supposed to automatically mute those notification sounds, but there must be something I've not set right somewhere. Anyone know how to fix it?

I have a protective case on my phone that is just the thin rubber protectant. My Bionic won't fit in the LapDock unless I remove the case. Isn't there an insert or something that is supposed to come off of the LapDock to allow phones with cases to fit on the dock?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI've searched here and several other forums without success for an answer to how to suppress the notification sound that occurs when inserting the Droid 3 into the HD dock. I did see another thread that seems to mention this but it deals more with ongoing notifications throughout the night and I don't have any problems with that. don't want to use silent mode because I want calls to come through, but I don't want the notification sound to play on insert. I've tried the Bedside dock app becuase it selectively suppresses notification sounds (no email alert, can choose phone or SMS alerts). Bedside works great to handle email notifications but it insn't active until after the dock insert sound has played. This is a real nusiance when my wife is already asleep when I place the phone in the dock.
