Motorola Droid 2 :: GPS On The Fritz Not Connecting?
May 10, 2011
In the past month or so I've noticed that the GPS is having issues not connecting and when it does connect it's miles off of my location.Last weekend I was driving from MA. to CT. Fired up GPS and Google maps (my current location was displayed a few miles off) entered the End Point then Go, I get "Searching for GPS" so I tossed it up on the dashboard. Had my copilot fire up her GPS on her android and everything was working fine on hers. An hour into the ride mine all of a sudden it got it's collective brains together and started give directions.I believe it's the GPS that's twisted. I can try to check into places via FB and again it's miles off on the Bing map. I can try the same thing in google maps and it's miles off.Is there a util that can manipulate the GPS, maybe reset it, uninstall/reinstall?Any ideas on how to fix this?
I use to never have a problem with this until this past spring. Basically i cannot connect my phone via USB cord to the computer. I thought i found a work around by removing the battery and then rebooting the computer. well it seam to be getting harder to do this.
Why won't my D3 play music via USB when connected to my car stereo? Even my old crappy Imagio did it. And my friends Droid X would work too...mine just says READING forever and never plays..
I'm having trouble connecting to my company's Exchange server with my new Droid 3. I've upgraded from the original Droid, which had no problems connecting. I noticed one difference between the old email app on the Droid and new one on the Droid 3 is that the original app had a setting to "Allow all certificates". My company authorizes our own certificates, and I wonder if my problem might be related to that. I have exported my certificate from my desktop computer and installed it on the Droid 3, but that doesn't seem to have had any effect. When I attempt to set up my email account via Corporate Sync, I get an error: "Could not connect to server". The server is running, and everything else can connect to it fine.
I have a Fritzbox 7390, and I have tried to use Fritzapp fon app so that when a call comes on land line, the mobile Samsung S5 would also ring. It does, but I can not answer the call, and have to use land line to answer it.
Since the upgrade to ICS, my Droid Razr won't connect with the factory installed bluetooth in my 2008 Nissan Sentra. It worked perfectly before the upgrade but now nothing. It pairs and when I call using the steering wheel controls it turns on the phone with the correct person and calls them. However, you can't hear the phone ringing in the speaker and if/when the person answers you can't hear them. I was excited to get the upgrade but my car bluetooth is more important to me. Everything else works great but the bluetooth is a major safety issue for me as I drive a great deal. Does anyone know how to fix this or is there a way to undo the upgrade?
I have noticed that my phone is very slow connecting to the Internet when it first turns on or after it has been sitting for awhile. It takes about a minute or so for it to finally get going it just hangs there at first. Some sites take longer than others but they all do it. Once it grabs its good until you set it down again
At home I am pretty sure it does the same thing. This morning when I got to the office, I noticed it was telling me that I have a wifi available. Open it up and there was the known wifi I have been connected to before, all week. Odd though, it says disabled but when i click it to connect, it says obtaining ip but then does back to not connected and says disabled. So basically I cannot connect to the wifi and I am 110% positive I have the correct password since I have connected to it just yesterday. Also curious why it isn't just connecting automatically to a known wifi. I have checked and others are on it right now.
Every time I connect my phone to a laptop, all of my apps that are saved to the sd card disappear from the home screen. Also, if I move an app to the sd card, when it's not connected to a computer, it disappears from my home screen as well.It seems like a recent update to the phone has caused problems with app to sd functionality. Is there any way to fix this other than moving all my apps back to the phone?
I've had the Bionic on launch day (orginal one replaced once already) and have had problems with the Hotspot from day 1. It will NOT connect to my laptop with internet access. When I put the cursor over the network icon it will say connected but it also says "Unidentified network" "No network access". If I look at the status it says
I noticed an odd behavior last week and again today. I have a Moto T605 BT kit in my truck. Only since the ICS upgrade, if I have my phone off, and then turn it on while in the truck, as soon as it connects to the kit, it dials the most recent number in my history, whether that call was inbound or outbound.
Whenever i voice ask my Droid Turbo to do something verbally it will come back FIRST by saying "connecting to google" then it will begin performing whatever task i have asked it. Example: i would say "whats up google now navigate to 123 main street Oceanside": and it will come back with a VERBAL reply "connecting to google" "navigating to 123 main street Oceanside" How do i PREVENT and STOP it from verbally replying EVERYTIME i ask a question before beginning my task by my phone giving a verbal "connecting to google" Its very annoying and in my mind an unnecessary response for the phone to always be saying.
I have a Droid2 Global which has stopped all audio to selected phone numbers. The calls connect OK but there is no audio at all. No ringing, and no voice in either direction. I know it is my phone as it is now happening on 2 phone numbers. All connections, both incoming and outgoing are affected. Speaker, bluetooth will not work. I do not have a wired option to test the 3.5mm jack. I've factory reset, removed the contact details, power off, ..... Others work well, just these numbers. Latest version and no updates pending.
Everytime I connect my Droid3 to the computer my Droid Pulls pictures and music FROM my PC and puts it on the phone. Sometimes it will pull All of my pictures, and sometimes it randomly selects 2 or 3 HUNDRED of them. I recently decided to add some music to my phone and as I was creating my "playlist" to sync to my droid, I noticed that something was happening. Before I even hit sync, my phone pulled ALL of the music off my computer and stored it on my phone.
I have tried to delete the pictures by going into the file on the computer and I get half way through when it locks up. I have to delete EACH picture.
I have gone to the Verizon Store, they have never heard of this happening. They did a reset, which thrilled me because I lost all of my ringtones and downloaded apps. It also erased all the personalized ringtones I had set.
Is anyone else having a problem connecting the phone to the desk dock via USB cable to the computer? When I connect a USB cable directly to the phone from the computer, the phone is charging and the computer recognizes that the phone has been connected and mounts the phone as a drive. If I connect that same USB cable to the desktop dock, then drop the phone in the dock, the phone detects that it's in the dock, but it doesn't charge, and the computer doesn't recognize that anything has been connected. If I plug a wall charger into the desktop dock, then drop the phone in the dock, the phone charges with no problem.this bundle also came with a little desktop charging station, which has just a small slot for the spare battery (also part of this bundle), and two USB ports (one male and one female). If I plug that same USB cable into the small charging station (female USB port) and drop the spare battery in, it starts charging. If at the same time, I plug the male USB port of the charging station into the phone's USB port, the computer recognizes the phone has been attached and also the phone starts charging too.
Is anyone else having problems with their computer crashing when you connect your phone to the computer via USB cable? This was a pre-existing problem before but it was solved by checking USB debugging (or vice-versa). But after the software upgrade to 4.0.4, I get the blue-screen-of-death and the computer crashes every time no matter which setting I choose for the USB debugging. This makes it almost impossible to transfer files between my computer and phone.
I have my Droid Xyboard set so that the if the screen turns off and its not plugged into the power adapter, the wifi will disconnect. (Under Wifi Settings > Wi-Fi disconnect Policy > select "Never when plugged in"). The wifi is supposed to connect automatically when I turn the screen on (I assume), but that doesn't always happen, many times it just sits there searching for a connection, and I have to manually turn off the wifi radio, then turn it on again, and then it connects automatically.
I have my IP settings set to "static" - which has improved the problem I think, but has not completely solved it. My security setting on my router is (WPA/WPA2 PSK) - but this happens with other wifi networks as well. My Mobile network connection is always turned off, unless I come to use it, I manually turn on the 3G/4G LTE radio.
I want to know if the D3 can connect to wireless headphones and a bluetooth heart rate monitor simultaneously? I am thinking about purchasing a bodymedia link arm band and I would like to use this while also using LG HBS-700 bluetooth headphones. How does it work?
Does Motorola intentionally make their new products inferior at release?I've been using a Droid and a Droid 2 for about 18 months.I shoot a lot of pictures outdoors, some macro, lots of nature and concerts.I also shoot indoors under challenging conditions (concert lighting.) They have both prtovided a passable point-and-shoot camera. The Droid 3 camera is dissapointing in that several important features have vanished:
-There is auto white balance, only a manual and difficult-to-use control. -The user can no longer set ISO -The user can no longer set EV -Focus is iffy under a variety of conditions -Photos have a bluish cast under most conditions, with and without flash
So instead of getting pretty good shots with a convenient camera, I'm getting washed-out, bluish garbage.(Issues with the video vs. Droid 2 also, in a separate post.)I want to know if Motorola intends to make the experience of this camera catch up with the spec soon, or if i should return my phone while I can still get something else from Verizon.
Ok, I have scoured the forums and tried everything, but cannot get my MOTOACTV or my BIONIC to be detected by my PC. I'd like to update the MOTOACTV, Steps taken so far:Unistall MOTOCAST ( ver 2.0.23), shut down PC, re-installfactory reset on MOTOACTV Unistall MOTOCAST ( ver 2.0.23), shut down PC, re-install as administratorMOTOACTV is basically factory except for some golf course downloads.I dont show any MOTO devices under mt device manager network connecttions. Also, I have confirmed that the Motorola device manager service is running and evan restarted it.
Hi, I purchased my MOTOACTV from the US and brought it to India. However, the GPS doesnot seem to be connecting. It keeps searching for GPS and doesn't connect. I went to the MOTOACTV website and tried to download the map for India and there is an error with the link they have provided which does not allow me to download the map. This is very disappointing. I was very excited to use this device and am feeling very let down now.
Anyone having issue with the Photon not charging and connecting to pc's usb. I beleive one problem caused the other - 1st i couldnt charge my batter in the wall so i wanted to see if it was the charger - grab'd my evo charger and still nothing so i pluged it up to the usb and my pc isnt recognizing the device. Drvers were already instaqll and i used the Moto Media Link to sync music and pic yesterday. Ive hardkey reset my phone, now its charging but still not getting anywhere with the usb connection.
I am on my second Atrix in two days. The phone takes 10-15 minutes to connect to the ATT edge network. Motorola and ATT tech support have no answers. My razr gave me 5 bars and the ATT tower is in line of sight. I am ready to get a Samsung..
My 3G XOOM (MZ601) is having a small issue since the 3.2 upgrade that if i have the XOOM at home connected to my WiFi, then take it out with me, it refuses to connect/switch to my Mobile network without a restart. Once I have done this it works fine, but it's a bit of a pain having to turn it off and on again every time I leave the house.
I just bought an ATRIX 2 at end of October and have spent days trying to make WIFI connection work.I could get to internet via cellular 3/4 G but although the phone would show the WIFI network and know it was there it wouldn't connect. It would try and then say "Disconnected".Finally, through reading tons of blog entries on different sites, I pieced together a solution I wanted to pass on to others.I have an Airport Extreme router. It was necessary to enter the MAC Address from my phone into Airports setup using Airport Utility. Then I also had to explicitly choose a Radio Mode that did NOT include the "N" option. Most options are hidden (for some bizarre unkown reason) so when clicking on the Radio Mode field in Airport Utility Wireless Section, hold down the "Option" key (at least on MacBook...maybe Control on Windows, but then you prob don't have an Airport router). This brings up a bunch of Radio options not shown by default.Choose one with no "N". Then be sure the Enable Auto IP" is checked "ON" under the Wireless Settings/Advanced section.Once this was done, have full strength connection and blazing fast.
I've not been able to connect my Motorola heart rate monitor chest strap to the Motoactv device. The device keeps trying to connect and never connects. I wear the heart monitor, including wetting the contacts, but the device never connects. I'm assuming the the new heart monitor has good batteries, since it's brand new. Are the batteries installed in an inactive manner for shipping? I need to get it working or else I need to return it for my $70 plus.
Have a wifi 3g xoom with android 3.2 and a 16g msd card. When I try to connect to my nikon Coolpix p100 the camera comes on and the xoom shows loading but no photos from the camera ever show up. The Gallery only shows the photos taken with the xoom not the nikon. The p100 documentation indicates ptp is supported but that alternative does not show up on any menu and i have searched and searched for a way to find ptp in any menu on the Nikon p100. Using the Motorola camera connection cable i bought at Best Buy.
So i have an unlocked CLIQ XT, I can make phone calls with my rogers SIM card but i cannot connect to data. SO when i launch the internet it says no network available. Any help?
