Motorola Droid 2 :: Selected Phone Numbers Connecting With No Audio
Oct 12, 2011
I have a Droid2 Global which has stopped all audio to selected phone numbers. The calls connect OK but there is no audio at all. No ringing, and no voice in either direction. I know it is my phone as it is now happening on 2 phone numbers. All connections, both incoming and outgoing are affected. Speaker, bluetooth will not work. I do not have a wired option to test the 3.5mm jack. I've factory reset, removed the contact details, power off, ..... Others work well, just these numbers. Latest version and no updates pending.
Has anyone run across Phone #'s failing to be saved? I'm not using anything but the stock directory. I get a phone call or make a call then go to the recent list and go through all the steps to save new contact, including "SAVE" as the last step and the next day it is not there. It is still in the recent calls list but without a name. It happened last week and I was sure I did it right but this week it happened again and I was thinking about last week so I know I "SAVED" as the last step. Does it make a difference if I go "Back" or just go straight to "Home" when finished?
In Kit Kat, when I looked at a contact, all of the information for that contact was displayed, including multiple phone numbers. With Lollipop, contacts that have multiple phone numbers now only display one phone number and there is a "see all" button that I need to push to see the additional phone numbers. I have tried to find a setting that would make it so all of the information was displayed but can't find one. Other than downloading a new contacts app...
Car dock: 1. I would like to be able to add phone numbers to the favorites listing manually. 2. I'd love to see an option to default to car Aux audio automatically instead of speakerphone. Right now to make a call I always have to place the call and then shut speakerphone off. HD dock: I'd like to be able to automatically silence calls instead of have to go to menu and checking the box everytime.
My second Bionic and having issues with dialing in on conference calls, I dial the 855 number then dial the password and the phone just stops entering numbers and blacks out, the 1st one did the same thing very frustrating it freezes all the time on the digits.
My Droid X updated yesterday and now the audio no longer works when I make phone calls. The person I call or who calls me cannot hear my end of the conversation. It will only work if my phone is on speaker. Has anyone else experienced this or know a fix? I have taken out the battery to restart it, but that did not fix the problem. Verizon had no solutions besides to send me a refurbished phone replacement.
Is anyone else having problems with their computer crashing when you connect your phone to the computer via USB cable? This was a pre-existing problem before but it was solved by checking USB debugging (or vice-versa). But after the software upgrade to 4.0.4, I get the blue-screen-of-death and the computer crashes every time no matter which setting I choose for the USB debugging. This makes it almost impossible to transfer files between my computer and phone.
if I dial a contact via the Razr's voice command using my Bluetooth headset, the call connects, but neither party can hear audio. If I dial by selecting the contact manually, using the same Bluetooth headset, the call connects normally and audio is fine. The headset is a Jabra 250 and I don't have easy access to another Bluetooth device at the moment. Can't tell if this is a sw or hw issue on the Razr or the headset (which is an older model but still works just fine with original Droid Razr).
Occasionally, I will lose both the wired and bluetooth headphones. My bluetooth headphones will work for the phone, but not for game or music player audio. When I disconnect the headphones, the speaker works fine. When I reconnect them, I still get nothing, but again, after disconnecting, the speaker works.Rebooting the phone corrects the issue. The best I can relate this to is muting the phone during a meeting.I have use the volume rocker and my "Volume Control" app.If I mute it, and put it back quickly, it works. It's when I've had it muted for an hour or so that I see the problem.
I've had two Razr's behave the same, whenever audio plays, especially using the headphone jack and external speakers, one can hear an audiable click or pop just before and after the audio plays. This happens with Pandora, Rhapsody, and Google Navigator. I haven't tested other audio based apps yet.Verizon and Motorola say they've not heard of this issue, so I'm wondering how many other Razr owners have noticed this pop? Hearing such noises as the audio turns on and off is not acceptable quality for a Motorola branded phone.I don't know enough about how the Android OS works, but I'm thinking there are two possible causes. First, as different apps access the audio hardware the internal electronics of the phone produce an audible pop as the circuits power up and down. Alternatively, the Android OS may be probing the headpone jack trying to determine if it's connected to external speakers. I've noticed that the pop gets louder as the phone approaches 100% charge.
With a 90% charge or better I've even had the audio output go quiet if the headset cable is moved, even though the audio application shows audio is playing. I know that removing the headset cable will pause the player, but in this case hitting play starts the player and it shows progress, but no audio is heard.
I've been using my Moto Droid, running Android 2.2.2 for some time now. Up until recently, I've been able to use it to listen to Pandora and mp3s loaded onto the phone. Now, any time I plug a set of headphones into the audio jack, the audio is really distorted. It sounds like a channel is out or something, and this happens across all volume levels. It pretty much sounds like you're listening to music underwater. Doesn't matter if it's streaming adio through Pandora or mp3 audio. When I unplug the headset (any headset, mind you) and go to external speaker, the audio is fine.
I am able to print photos from my phone wirelessly via my network (Dell Laptop w/VISTA & H/P Officejet 7400 All-in-One, Microsoft Small Business) but when I tried to print a spreedsheet, as a test of Motoprint capabilities, it shows the printer grayed out and says "This printer is incompatible with the currently selected document type". Funny that I use the same printer on a somewhat daily basis to print anything I want to print from my laptop.
Odd, one of our Droid1 phones just started to not ring only from other cell calls - the ringer works perfectly from landline calls. We have checked every setting we can think of - rebooted - pulled battery - nothing reinstates the ringer from cell numbers.
I'm probably just blind, but where is the setting (If it's still there) in the contact lists to have it only display contacts with a phone number? Otherwise I end up with every person I email on my exchange account on my contacts list.
One of the things the custom ROM makers all do is to implement a change to the stock system to enable the battery status to be reported in 1% increments, rather than 10% as at present. They also change the battery icon set so that the correct % charge remaining is displayed in the battery in the status bar.Why doesn't Moto implement this change in their next update? It would be a welcome change to every user, and it might slightly mollify those calling for an unlocked bootloader. (Though after the glitches I've seen in this update I'm on the unlock-the-bootloader side myself.)
So Im new to the site and am in desperate need of a solution to keep the peace at my house. Its the weirdest thing on min her phone will show all of her contacts when she goes to check her text. In a matter of less than 5 mins the names will disappear and it will just show numbers. She puts the phone down and picks it back up later and its magic her contact names will show up with the messages. At no time do the contact names disappear from her actual address book tho.
I am having trouble sending an audio text. In a new text message, I can "insert" audio, and hit "OK" and then send, but it does not actually send it. It does not give me a message that it has NOT been sent but it does not appear on the screen as a sent message..
1. My phone is lagging. I notice that that this starts occuring when my internal ram gets to about 100MB or less. I never had this issue with gingerbread because I used the auto kill feature in the phones preloaded task manager. Now, ICS does not have a auto task killer and my ram is running extremely low and causeing the phone to lag, especially when going from app to app and returning to the home screen.
2. My audio has been spotty. It works one second then when you load a app that has audio it won't work. If you close the app and load it again then the audio works fine. I have gone into the system recovery and wiped the cache partion on the phone. I also use Cache Cleaner + and have reset the phone and still get the same issues as above. If the suggestions don't work then I call verizon and tell them thank you for screwing up my phone. Worked perfectly fine before with GB.
I use to never have a problem with this until this past spring. Basically i cannot connect my phone via USB cord to the computer. I thought i found a work around by removing the battery and then rebooting the computer. well it seam to be getting harder to do this.
Why won't my D3 play music via USB when connected to my car stereo? Even my old crappy Imagio did it. And my friends Droid X would work too...mine just says READING forever and never plays..
I'm having trouble connecting to my company's Exchange server with my new Droid 3. I've upgraded from the original Droid, which had no problems connecting. I noticed one difference between the old email app on the Droid and new one on the Droid 3 is that the original app had a setting to "Allow all certificates". My company authorizes our own certificates, and I wonder if my problem might be related to that. I have exported my certificate from my desktop computer and installed it on the Droid 3, but that doesn't seem to have had any effect. When I attempt to set up my email account via Corporate Sync, I get an error: "Could not connect to server". The server is running, and everything else can connect to it fine.
In the past month or so I've noticed that the GPS is having issues not connecting and when it does connect it's miles off of my location.Last weekend I was driving from MA. to CT. Fired up GPS and Google maps (my current location was displayed a few miles off) entered the End Point then Go, I get "Searching for GPS" so I tossed it up on the dashboard. Had my copilot fire up her GPS on her android and everything was working fine on hers. An hour into the ride mine all of a sudden it got it's collective brains together and started give directions.I believe it's the GPS that's twisted. I can try to check into places via FB and again it's miles off on the Bing map. I can try the same thing in google maps and it's miles off.Is there a util that can manipulate the GPS, maybe reset it, uninstall/reinstall?Any ideas on how to fix this?
I recently made the decision to stop using my headphone jack. To listen to audio, I plug my listening devices into th 3.5mm jacks that are located on the different docks. The problem I have is that a lot of the phone sounds still come through the external speaker. For example, I am watching a movie and I get an email, text msg, or phone call. I can't hear this because my headphones are on. If I plug my headphones into the phone's actual headphone jack, I hear all of the sounds. If I am in the car and a call comes in, the voice comes through the speakerphone. I have to manually hit the speaker button and then the audio comes through my car stereo. Does any know if there is a way to make the audio from the micro usb to work the same as the audio on the headphone jack?
Over the past three days, when I place or receive a call the person on the other line cannot hear my voice. When I dial out I can hear the person on the other line however my voice in inaudible. Whene I toggle back and forth between speaker ON and speaker OFF the other person can barely hear my voice when the speaker is on...but not at all when it is off. When I check my system in the Setings>About section I confirm my system is up-to-date. I have voice privacy de-selected (did not notice any difference).
I use Stitcher, the FM Radio and Mediafly a lot. On the X these would always stay active when surfing the web, playing most games, etc. They now last about 2 minutes before something is killing there processes. I am not using a task killer. It seems to be more of a problem when the X2 is docked.
