Motorola Droid Bionic :: Not Saving Phone Numbers?
Apr 10, 2012
Has anyone run across Phone #'s failing to be saved? I'm not using anything but the stock directory. I get a phone call or make a call then go to the recent list and go through all the steps to save new contact, including "SAVE" as the last step and the next day it is not there. It is still in the recent calls list but without a name. It happened last week and I was sure I did it right but this week it happened again and I was thinking about last week so I know I "SAVED" as the last step. Does it make a difference if I go "Back" or just go straight to "Home" when finished?
My second Bionic and having issues with dialing in on conference calls, I dial the 855 number then dial the password and the phone just stops entering numbers and blacks out, the 1st one did the same thing very frustrating it freezes all the time on the digits.
Let me just start off by saying this forum site is I think I've been able to find the answers to most of my questions but the one I still can't figure out is.
My only "complaint" is that whenever a call comes in or when I make a call, it always has it on the phonespeaker and not over the car dock audio connected to the radio. I have to press the speaker button to turn it off each time.way to have it default to the speaker being off?
I bought my blackberry in the uk but recently moved to Switzerland. When I save my Swiss contacts here, both under the international prefix and the Swiss phone format, my phone refuses to show their names when I receive calls or msgs.
how can i save contacts on my phone rather than in a google account. Every time i create a new contact, it comes up at the top as Google Contact and when i create the contact it gets saved to google account. If i delete the google contact, all the contacts gets deleted too. I just want to save my contacts to my phone memory and not on google.
I have a Droid2 Global which has stopped all audio to selected phone numbers. The calls connect OK but there is no audio at all. No ringing, and no voice in either direction. I know it is my phone as it is now happening on 2 phone numbers. All connections, both incoming and outgoing are affected. Speaker, bluetooth will not work. I do not have a wired option to test the 3.5mm jack. I've factory reset, removed the contact details, power off, ..... Others work well, just these numbers. Latest version and no updates pending.
I just purchased a Bionic with the car mount. I can only put the phone in car mode with the mount. I don't have a Car Mode Icon. I would like to go in to Car Mode without putting the phone on the mount. While in the car I made some settings default, like the Music, and I would like to undo this but can't find a way to do change it.
In Kit Kat, when I looked at a contact, all of the information for that contact was displayed, including multiple phone numbers. With Lollipop, contacts that have multiple phone numbers now only display one phone number and there is a "see all" button that I need to push to see the additional phone numbers. I have tried to find a setting that would make it so all of the information was displayed but can't find one. Other than downloading a new contacts app...
Car dock: 1. I would like to be able to add phone numbers to the favorites listing manually. 2. I'd love to see an option to default to car Aux audio automatically instead of speakerphone. Right now to make a call I always have to place the call and then shut speakerphone off. HD dock: I'd like to be able to automatically silence calls instead of have to go to menu and checking the box everytime.
As I was texting, a message popped up stating that my phone storage was full. I stopped and checked the storage and memory space to see that they were perfectly fine. I went back to send another text and the message popped up again, the message didn't send and when I tried to access my texting again, it force closed until I rebooted the phone. I am using the stock messaging app, but a different home launcher. I have not previously had problems with this in the past using this same launcher, and only had 38 conversations going (all with only a few texts in each). Does any have any idea as to the reason for this and how I could solve this issue?
I accidently registered my Bionic twice on the "My Products" page and am trying to figure out how to delete the duplicate. You would think that it would not let you register the same phone with the same serial number.
I was in a meeting this am waiting for an important business call. The phone was sitting on the table. I got a text telling me people were trying to contact me and I didn't answer the phone! It didn't ring. I've had it set for CDME/LTE because I live/work in a saturated 4G area. For some reason the phone read 3G with 4bars lit.No call. After multiple text messages the call came through. I've had people complain before that they've called when I've had the phone sitting next to me at work and it hasn't rung, and at other times it rings just fine.
I am going to purchase another battery for my Bionic so I can swap batteries when I am running low. Is there a dock or something I can purchase that will allow me to charge just the battery? So I can be using my phone whilst charging a separate battery at the same time?
For the first time, my Bionic started making a sound, somewhat between a slow crackle and a tick (although not perfectly regular in timing), that was audible with the phone setting on a sofa cushion. It sounded like it was coming from the area of the mic, but I suppose it was coming from the speaker on the rear near the bottom. I was not actively using any apps at the time, although Google Music and Pocket Casts had both been used (via Bluetooth headset) earlier today.
I tried sleeping the phone and waking it up, and the sound resumed. Power off, waiting a minute or two, and then power on seems to have fixed it, at least for the 10 or so minutes since I restarted it. For the record, this phone has been nearly 100% reliable -- the battery cover has never been off since leaving the Verizon store, about a week after launch.
Ever since the 905 update, my phone keeps trying to activate "text-to-speech"whenever I receive a text message while the messaging application is open. Is this happening to anyone else? How can I disable this feature as I don't want to use it and it's very disruptive at times? I've looked in the phone's main settings and in the messaging app's settings, and I can't find anything!
Is anyone else having problems with their computer crashing when you connect your phone to the computer via USB cable? This was a pre-existing problem before but it was solved by checking USB debugging (or vice-versa). But after the software upgrade to 4.0.4, I get the blue-screen-of-death and the computer crashes every time no matter which setting I choose for the USB debugging. This makes it almost impossible to transfer files between my computer and phone.
Normally when you are on a call and put the phone close to your ear, the screen goes dark because you are on a call, but when you move it away the screen comes back on. My screen when I am on a phone call stays dark as soon as I answer it. It does not come back on when you move it away from my ear, and to get it back on I have to press the wake button. Additionally, I am unable to answer call waiting either- when another call is coming in, even pressing the wake button does not wake the phone until after the second caller hangs up.
So - one of my dumb animals knocked my phone off a table (which they weren't supposed to be on in the first place) and it landed on the table foot (brass) face down and cracked the screen. The crack is down near the bottom (not on main viewing screen). Although the phone still works great, the crack is driving me crazy, and would anticipate it getting bigger at some point. I have the Verizon full replacement warranty, but don't really want a refurb as my BIONIC works perfect and don't want to get one someone returned that wasn't.
Just don't think Verizon will do anything except give me a refurb, and I don't have an upgrade coming for sometime.
I was just wondering if the bionic is one of these devices?http://www.engadget.com/2011/12/02/some-android-phones-fail-to-enforce-permissions-exposed-to-unau/
This has happened three times since Thursday, its not the same apps either. I installed the apps on the phone, then they just uninstall themselves. Redwall has done it. Google sky maps have done it. Moviefone has done it. Firefox has done it. Its like it going through my list uninstalling each app in its on time.
This is my first "smart" phone and I have a question that (I hope) has a simple answer. The phone produces sounds when e-mails or text messages come in as well as for phone calls, and I want it too. Except at night. Is there a way to set the Bionic so that ONLY an incoming phone call produces a sound?I have an elderly mother and need to receive an emergency phone call. However, I don't need want the phone to wake me up any time an e-mail or text message arrives. Sleep mode allows calls to come in but there is no sound.
I am having a problem with my Droid Bionic. Whenever I try to view pictures, through the camera or gallery, I get an error message that reads, "Phone memory is full, not enough memory to start application. delete some files." Because of this, I have had no access to any of my pictures.
I have deleted many files and do not think there are more that can be deleted without losing things that I need. I have deleted some apps from the phone. How do I clear the cache on the phone?
In the past - namely when I owned the Droid X - while in a call, I was able to press the volume up and volume keys successfully to adjust the in-call volume while I held the phone to my ear. Albeit the screen was turned off, the volume adjustment responded properly. I find now with the Bionic that I cannot adjust the volume while the phone is against my ear and that I actually have to move the phone far enough away from my face in order for the screen to turn back on and allow for the volume to be adjusted.
This causes me to miss part of the conversation, Matt can this be adressed or is there a setting I am missing?
The last several days I have begun to hear an intermittment buzzing noise when people that I am speaking with on a phone call on the Droid Bionic are talking. The noise does not appear to occur when I am speaking - only when the other party speaks and this has happened on several calls with several people from different phone numbers and it does not matter whether they call me or I call themI had thought that noise issues were relegated to the audio portion of Zumocast, etc. through headphones, etc. as reported via other discussions, but now this issue has come up. I have one day left to return my phone and this is one thing I can not deal with.
As usual, went to look at phone, BSOD, green blinking light. Battery pull, reboot. Don't know why the green light was blinking, there were no new messages, on the phone after the reboot. Ok, now after the reboot I had no data connecetion at all now. Took about 10 minutes, I kept playing with the settings and the data finally came back. It was 4G full bars, go figure. Im in Las Vegas not a new fringe area. I can take any issure or bug with this phone except this one, where the phone goes dead and you never know it. I just don't understand. Their actually gonna make me take it on the chin and go buy a different phone.
Occasionally, I will lose both the wired and bluetooth headphones. My bluetooth headphones will work for the phone, but not for game or music player audio. When I disconnect the headphones, the speaker works fine. When I reconnect them, I still get nothing, but again, after disconnecting, the speaker works.Rebooting the phone corrects the issue. The best I can relate this to is muting the phone during a meeting.I have use the volume rocker and my "Volume Control" app.If I mute it, and put it back quickly, it works. It's when I've had it muted for an hour or so that I see the problem.
