I've had the Bionic on launch day (orginal one replaced once already) and have had problems with the Hotspot from day 1. It will NOT connect to my laptop with internet access. When I put the cursor over the network icon it will say connected but it also says "Unidentified network" "No network access". If I look at the status it says

View 2 Replies View RelatedWent to tether my Bionic to my laptop this AM and realized I didn't have a USB cable with me. I called VZW to get the wireless hotspot enabled on my phone for a couple days. Check. Went to settings to turn on the Hotspot. Nothing. nada. zip. Got a message saying it was retreiving the agreement, and then got a message that said I needed to call VZW to enable the feature. But I just did that. Reboot the phone. Try again. Same thing.Call VZW back, they verify I was indeed provisioned for hotspot, and tell me to reboot the phone. Still doesn't work. Get handed off to a technician.Reboot the phone again. No go. Turn the Bionic off and pull the SIM. Re-seat the SIM, boot up the phone, still no hotspot.I'm now almost 90 minutes into trying to get my Bionic's hotspot feature to work (because I wanted to avoid a trip to buy an overpriced USB cable). Tech says we'll have to do a hard reset. I decline and tell him I'll add this feature to my list of disappointments with my Bionic. He asked if there was anything else I needed, and I said the release date for the ICS update, but of course, they couldn't help me with that.
View 8 Replies View RelatedThe mobile hotspot on my bionic has poor range. I can have the phone 15 feet away on the charger and only have 1 bar of signal on my laptop. Other phones I have had with this feature have had alot better range. I could go anywhere in my house and have signal. On the bionic I can only go about 15 feet away before I lose signal.

Pandora, Tunein radio, mp3's... anything media wise it appears.bIt also appears this only happens while listening via a bluetooth device - in my case a Motorola T505.

It takes about a minute or so for it to finally get going it just hangs there at first. Some sites take longer than others but they all do it. Once it grabs its good until you set it down again
View 10 Replies View RelatedIs anyone else having a problem connecting the phone to the desk dock via USB cable to the computer?When I connect a USB cable directly to the phone from the computer, the phone is charging and the computer recognizes that the phone has been connected and mounts the phone as a drive.If I connect that same USB cable to the desktop dock, then drop the phone in the dock, the phone detects that it's in the dock, but it doesn't charge, and the computer doesn't recognize that anything has been connected.If I plug a wall charger into the desktop dock, then drop the phone in the dock, the phone charges with no problem.this bundle also came with a little desktop charging station, which has just a small slot for the spare battery (also part of this bundle), and two USB ports (one male and one female). If I plug that same USB cable into the small charging station (female USB port) and drop the spare battery in, it starts charging. If at the same time, I plug the male USB port of the charging station into the phone's USB port, the computer recognizes the phone has been attached and also the phone starts charging too.

This was a pre-existing problem before but it was solved by checking USB debugging (or vice-versa). But after the software upgrade to 4.0.4, I get the blue-screen-of-death and the computer crashes every time no matter which setting I choose for the USB debugging. This makes it almost impossible to transfer files between my computer and phone.

I have been using Zumocast, but that's only a one way deal. You can stream and download files from PC onto the Bionic, but not vice versa.Also, I tried to download a 1.4 gig mp4 file but it doesn't fully download, and makes my notification area on my Bionic force close and the whole phone just wigs out and requires a reboot. So Zumocast needs to do some updates in order to support large file transfer.
Anyway, I am looking for a way to transfer files from my phone to my computer(s) wirelessly. I don't always have my USB cable around.
Im having the same issue as a lot of other people (so i read). Mine has progressively gotten worse. My data connection shows active (sometimes it doesnt) but I cannot transfer data. After multiple restarts/battery pulls, i have data connection but NO app will transfer data except the web browser and dolphin. Even Gmail will not sync. So i can surf the web, but cant check my gmail app, pageonce, etc, etc. Wifi/bluetooth work fine. MOST of the time I can still text / make calls but not always.
I am hesitant to do a factory reset as the last time i did this, it did not change the problem and i was stuck with nothing because i had no data connection to connect to my google account with (nor wifi, i was on vacation).
I can get a 4G signal rarely in home. At work and mobile I am usually 4G.I expect to be on 4G for a few years (5G anytime soon?) and was thinking of spending $$$ on a Wilson repeater to pick up 4G with a directional antenna and amplifier for home: url...I am a licensed Amateur Radio operator and the principals involved seemed sound to me.Also, does anyone know how to put the Bionic into Field Test Mode?

But after removing the cable, my z2 cannot locate the ps3 controller. I have followed the steps on youtube, sony support site and even searched google. All have same intsructions. Tried it multiple times but still same issue.

Home net is a std Verizon issued router (only thing custom is the net name, channel, and crypto key) and the Bionic is able to get on the wifi no problem.

However, I can't find a way to do this on the Bionic. There's no option in accounts > Gmail. I HATE having the emails strung together like they were text messages. One of the major issues is losing attachments (ex: photos) in earlier emails once additional ones have been added to the "thread."

Spoke to the developer of Freecaddie and he checked and it is suppose to save courses to SD but Bionic saves to Internal Memory. With My Tracks even when I pick "Save to SD card" is saves it to Internal Memory. What is up with that and is there a way to correct it?I know my SD card is working because I have moved pics and music to it without a problem.

I wiped out my Bionic and then re-set everything up, and it was working fine until I added my FB account, and then removed the account. Now I can't add any new accounts at all.
I used Google's https: market.android.com to transfer all my apps from my Droid 1 to my Bionic. By and large it was seemless and quick. However, less than half of my Gallery pictures made it over. Because the Gallery is a stock app and not in the marketplace it is not on the the above market transfer desktop application.I also have astro and estrong on my device.

My tablet struggles to keep the hard drive spinning over OTG, but my phone powers it just fine. Problem is, the Chromecast needs a WiFi network to connect to, so I turn on the hotspot on the phone. When I do that, I have to disable WiFi on the phone, so it can't see the Chromecast.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI have a strange issue that I've never seen before, nor can I find examples of it here in the forum. I use the hotspot feature on my DROID 4 LTE quite a bit. Unfortunately, it's not very useful when I'm on the road or on a train. Whenever the phone hops to a new tower, the data stream dies. The wifi portion of the hotspot stays active -- it's just that all data stops flowing. I spoke with VZW Level 2 and they had me pull the SIM so they could do a "network reset". Took it out for a test drive and no go. As soon as I drive far enough to hop to a new tower, all data stops flowing through the hotspot.

I purchased a Razr M yesterday and cannot get the hotspot to function. I can connect the computer to the hotspot and I can see that connection on both the phone and the laptop, but I have no internet connection. I previously had an HTC Incredible and it worked with no issues. I have tried disabling the security, re-naming the connection, changing the channel in the hotspot settings and even changing the client start address. this is really frustrating to me because it is the primary use of this phone. (or at least it's supposed to be) has there been any solution to this issue in the previous models I missed? is anyone else having this problem?
