View 1 RepliesI have a Droid Turbo and I want screen cast to my Chromecast some TV recordings I have on a hard drive. My tablet struggles to keep the hard drive spinning over OTG, but my phone powers it just fine. Problem is, the Chromecast needs a WiFi network to connect to, so I turn on the hotspot on the phone. When I do that, I have to disable WiFi on the phone, so it can't see the Chromecast.

Then I spent the next several minutes trying to get it to turn on. Finally took the Atrix out of the LapDock and it would turn on. Put it back in the LapDock and he stayed connected and I went back to what I was doing. Turned it off later still docked, but could not turn on again like before.
Searched around for this and found nothing about not being able to turn the HotSpot on while in the LapDock. Turns on/off fine when in my MM Dock. Running 1.8.3 stock at the moment.
More recently, my droid turbo has been turning rainbow colors instead of black with the time when it's charging. If I press the lock button myself, the phone will lock and stay black with the time. If I unlock my phone and let it be, it'll turn to the rainbow colors. I have my phone on the turbo charger when this happens!
View 9 Replies View RelatedI bought my iPhone 4S sim free and unlocked from Apple in January this year. I have previously used the personal hotspot on IOS 5.0, however I don't use it much as I have a 3G pocket hotspot. A month or so ago I upgraded to 5.1.1, today I had a need to enable my Hotspot and I find I cannot turn it on.
When I select "Set Up Personal Hotspot" I get a message saying ....
"To enable Personal Hotspot on this account visit [URL]
While the carrier is shown as Vodafone I am actually with BT Mobile who is an MVNO using Vodafone's network. So I can't sort it out with Vodafone because my account is not with them. The phone should not have any restrictions on it as I bought it outright, and this is something that has changed between IOS 5.0 and 5.1 because I have used this in the past.
Info:
iPhone 4S, iOS 5.1.1
I am new to the whole JB thing so a few quick questions to those far smarter...
1. If I want to teather my unlimited plan, is there a free app to download to enable this and does it create a hotspot?
2. What are the top 5-6 best free JB apps I should consider?
3. I have 2 iPhone 4s, one JB and one is not. If I change the SIM in between both so AT&T or Apple care? One is the IP4 on my account, and the second is an older IP4 with a chipped screen.
I am not able to find the radio button of personal hotspot in my iphone 4. Where to find that. It disappears from my phone.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI will turn on my mobile hotspot on my droid 4 and i will connect it to my motorola XY board tablet, and i will be in the mist of using it when all of the sudden i will lose internet connection on my tablet. I know it is not a problem with my tablet, because when i am at home i will be connected to my home internet and i wont lose connection at all. So i am just wondering if there was a firm ware update for the phone?
View 1 Replies View RelatedAfter the ICS update, I lost the GPS Enabled/Disabled toggle widget that used to be on my Razr Maxx. It was so easy to push this button to enable/disable the GPS function. Just like the Airplane mode.... Any ideas how I can bring that back?? BTW, I now need to use 3 steps to check the Stand Alone GPS block on my locations in order to use my Google Maps Navigator.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a strange issue that I've never seen before, nor can I find examples of it here in the forum. I use the hotspot feature on my DROID 4 LTE quite a bit. Unfortunately, it's not very useful when I'm on the road or on a train. Whenever the phone hops to a new tower, the data stream dies. The wifi portion of the hotspot stays active -- it's just that all data stops flowing. I spoke with VZW Level 2 and they had me pull the SIM so they could do a "network reset". Took it out for a test drive and no go. As soon as I drive far enough to hop to a new tower, all data stops flowing through the hotspot.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI am having lots of problems in getting my Toshiba Satellite C655 laptop to connect to my Motorola Verizon Droid Razr using Verizon's Hot Spot.It appears to see the Verizon Hot Spot and statse connected but says limited connectivity and keeps disconnecting and refreshing and reconnecting stateing either " Limited Connectivity or No Internet" Also when it did the one time make a connection it would not go to any web pages even tho it stated connected with internet connectivity.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI searched around and found a few forums dealing with similar issues and the previous models of the Razr, but couldn't find any solutions. I purchased a Razr M yesterday and cannot get the hotspot to function. I can connect the computer to the hotspot and I can see that connection on both the phone and the laptop, but I have no internet connection. I previously had an HTC Incredible and it worked with no issues. I have tried disabling the security, re-naming the connection, changing the channel in the hotspot settings and even changing the client start address. this is really frustrating to me because it is the primary use of this phone. (or at least it's supposed to be) has there been any solution to this issue in the previous models I missed? is anyone else having this problem?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI've had the Bionic on launch day (orginal one replaced once already) and have had problems with the Hotspot from day 1. It will NOT connect to my laptop with internet access. When I put the cursor over the network icon it will say connected but it also says "Unidentified network" "No network access". If I look at the status it says

View 3 Replies View RelatedI saw there's a post describing how to enable internet sharing for 1020 but one of the requirement is a foreign SIM card which I don't have.
My 1020 is a Hong Kong version got from eBay and it didn't come with a SIM. I called T-Mobile but they said since it's not from their store, it may not work, they tried to do something on their end but couldn't make it work.
Looking through the videos on the Motorola website, while using the camera they show using the 'Multi-Shot' mode. I do not see that. Is there some way to enable it?
View 9 Replies View RelatedPretty simple question. On other phones, including the DX1, you could adjust the volume while the screen was locked. The DX2 doesn't seem to do this out of the box so my guess is Moto just shipped it with a setting for it off. How do I enable it? Kind of annoying to have to pull the phone out and unlock it for every minor volume adjustment.
View 1 Replies View RelatedUnlike other stock apps and Verizon bloatware, I was unable to re-enable the stock Email app.
My stock Email app used to be linked to my office Outlook email. From further research, I have found that it is the cause for warning such as "Unfortunately, process.com.motorola.services has been force closed" or something like that to pop up. My attemp to fix this was to download other developer's apps, but soon to find out nearly all of them only supports POP3 and IMAP. Needless to say I feel nauseating just thinking about spending $20 for apps like ActiveSync and TouchDown for the stupid Outlook email!

View 2 Replies View RelatedI want to take full advantage of HD video camera on my Droid Turbo, and found an external lavalier lapel microphone (Audio Technica 3350iS, which comes with an adapter for "smartphones including iPhone and newer Android phones"). But even when I use the adapter, the video recorder will only use the phone's on board mic. How can I disable/mute the onboard mic? Scoured the interweb, and at one point there was a perfect app "Mute Mic", but the NSA or Google or Motorola decided it was too useful to live.

View 24 Replies View RelatedWe just got rid of two internet services by using the mobile hotspot feature on our Razrs, saving literally $160.00 a month.
Problem: whenever the phone rings, it knocks me offline. It's like a flashback to the 1990s!
Question: How can I make my cell calls go directly into voicemail instead of ringing? Or is there something else I can do?
I've finally bought the "Latest and Greatest" only to be "Greatly" disappointed! I was/am using a USB Broadband modem for internet connection (for mobility) and a cell phone from another provider. Saw the RAZR and preordered from Verizon with much enthusiasm, Hey I'm finally getting with the times upgrading and consolidatingWell on 11/10/11 I received a receipt on the door when I got home, a receipt from FED EX saying they were here and unable to deliver without signature. I jumped back in the car and rushed to the FED EX joint to get my new toy. Well it sure is a beaut! I love it!ell long story shorter... I cannot get Hotmail, Yahoo, Facebook nor my eBay accounts web pages to load on the laptop via using the Hotspot feature. (Among many other sites while browsing) I contacted Verizon several times tried CDMA only blah blah blah.
Verizon escalated me to support out in Utah... TAKE NOTE MOTOROLA! and the Cisco tech there "made some changes" and was able to get me up and running, albeit until after we hung up and I was satisfied that it had been worked around. After about 10 minutes of enjoying "What I have paid for" it quit again and the pages just sit, trying to load and sometimes scrambled.Dismayed, I called Verizon and asked for a new unit, which I recieved last night, (and again had to got to the FED EX joint) IT TOO Will not funtion properly. ( I figured it wouldn't) But hey, even Henry Ford puts out a lemon once in a while.
If you use your RAZR / RAZR MAXX for tethering, or as a hotspot, for connecting a WiFi-only tablet or laptop PC wirelessly to the Internet, how is it affecting your phone's battery power consumption?
