Motorola Atrix 4G :: Picasa And Hotmail Logins Fail?
Jun 13, 2011
Since April I started experiencing issues with Picasa login. Time to time I have a notification icon that Picasa account login failed. I press re-try and this notification is gone for next few hours or even longer. I tried to re-enter the password and it didnLast two weeks same story is happening with my Hotmail mailbox. However, in case of Hotmail even re-try doesn't help. The issue solves itself over time, but it is very annoying because you never know your mailbox is synchronized or not. Both Picasa login and Hotmail were setup when I bought the phone and they worked fine for two and three month correspondently. The phone is updated to the latest official build 1.8.3.
Other android devices have the ability to synch with picassa to view their online albums am I missing something or is this a big whoops not included on Moto's part.

After creating a hotmail account, leave out of email app and go to the home screen. Find phone settings/accounts/hotmail/other settings and you should see a option that say's, delete messages older than:, tap on this and a box drops down, choose to never delete messages and click on ok. A force close error will appear. When you manage to get back to home screen, the email icon doesn't open and show any emails from the hotmail account. You have to reboot the phone.
With my original Droid (first ever model) I could easily sync to all my folders of pictures on Picasa Web. With my Motorola Bionic I am unable to do so.
I receive the following error when attempting to add my existing Picasa account: Error There was an error creating your account. Please try again.
I receive this error regardless of if I try to enter it from the Accounts area or if I attempt to add through Gallery --> Settings--> Quick upload for pictures --> Add account --> Picasa (Gallery)
I have been able to add other social networking sites such as twitter and facebook. This is the only one that I have found to give me errors
I have my Picasa synced to auto sync. Any new uploads to the website will sync to the tablet. The problem I am having is that my upload folders I see, through my tablet, are showing old folders that have been deleted, as well as not showing new folders that I created through the website. This was working on the 3.0 version then all of a sudden stopped. I was hoping with the 3.1 upgrade that it would work, but it is still not working. This tablet is not unlocked. I tried unsyncing and resyncing the tablet, but it just does not want to forget. This tablet is encypted using the option through the system. This is a Verizon 3G tablet.
After the upgrade to ICS (obviously my XOOM wrongly assumes its T-Mobile Germany) my picasa albums are no longer showing in the Gallery app.In Settings -> Accounts & sync -> <my Google account> the "Sync Picasa Web Albums" is missing (not just unchecked - not there). All sync options are checked.I tried deleting an readding my google account and a factory reset without succes. Picasa albums are still not there. My picasa albums are not public but showing fine on my Transformer Pad (also ICS 4.0.3).
I just got my Droid Razr Maxx HD and everything is great except I can't seem to get the Picasa functionality working. In the Gallery app when I hit the share button and hit Picasa it just says failed to retrieve account information. It also does not show me any of my Picasa galleries in the Gallery app like all of my previous phones(including the Droid Razr Maxx) did.
I also do not see a way to log into my Picasa account in the Accounts & Sync area of the phone settings. My Picasa and my Google account are the same by the way.
Just bought a new boost mobile i776 and planned on unlocking it for use on Telus as a Mike phone.
When I powered it up it says FLASHStrap FS8Ev00.23 HAB PRD i28F256M18- ROMD HAB assert fail Ready to Program Connect USB data cable VID7-UID1: 0000 0830 1504 3500 3131 3637 4444
Has anyone heard of this error or could explain it? I've done some searching but turned up nothing. It said ready to program so I ran the CNS unlock on it, but still no luck. I'll return it if I have to or call motorola but I have to deal with the border crossing involved in that and that makes it much more time consuming if this is an easy fix.
I just wanted confirmation as to whether or not Photon users who are affected by the failed update can utilize the Lapdock 100 still (as one of the things stated in the update was Lapock support). I would figure that we should still be able to use the dock because the other docks have been out for a while now and they too use webtop, however I wanted to be sure before I purchased the dock if possible (as I want to pick up the dock as soon as possible).
When try to download my wifi to my motoactv I keep getting the following message: The scam for wifi networks library failed.Check to see that the access point is on and that it is configured with WPA, WEP or no encryption.
I had been successfully syncing with my coporate exchange server since I got my Droid X last year. I received the OTA update last night for my Droid X. This morning I started the install. After the install it said that my administrator said that I must encrpyt the data on my phone for to be able to sync with the exchange server. I said yes and the phone went through a lengthy process to encrypt the data. After that it showed a coporate sync connect error. I re-entered my password but that did not help. The error says the the administrator is unable to provision my phone. I tried deleting the account and adding it back in and still get the same error.I looked at the data encryption settings under location and security and now it says that I cannot turn off data encryption. It says "The encryption settings was turned on by your administrator. You cannot turn it off". If I cannot connect to corporate email anymore, I do not want the data encrypted as I am sure it will slow down the phone.
Similar to a previous question, one day after purchasing the Razr I played a song with the included My Music player via MotoCast and enjoyed the lyrics display. Immediatly after playing the song I played it again and could not get the lyrics to reappear. No setting changes on the Razr, tried everything suggested in the forums including other songs, pressing on the song window, etc. Live music information setting shows green check mark next to "Song Lyrics."
Twice in the 5 days I have owned my Razr it has unexpectedly shut down and will not restart until I plug it into a charger.I only have the default "low battery saver" smart action set up and each time this happened the battery was at 75% or more.
The hard press buttons (menu, home, back, search fail to light up sometimes. Even when I cover the sensor, it does not turn on. I cannot find a setting to turn it off or on. Even at night, it rarely lights up.
I was just wondering if the bionic is one of these devices?http://www.engadget.com/2011/12/02/some-android-phones-fail-to-enforce-permissions-exposed-to-unau/
id like to buy one of those over 3000mah batteries for my atrix 2 , but where i live i can only find this batteries for the atrix 4g and im not sure if it works on the atrix 2.
My Motorola Atrix or Computer has a Problem install the ADB Interface so there for my phone wont connect to my Computer.I have a windows 7 32-bit operating system.I have tried installing Drivers Manualy, tried using the PDAnet Solution, tried unistalling all USB Ports, tried applications to help.
Will the Lapdock (and other accessories for that matter) work for the new Atrix 2 coming? I've only used the Lapdock lightly and it will be a real shame if it and the other accessories I've purchased over the past year won't work with the 2nd gen Atrix.
I have a new Droid 4 and cannot get my hotmail working. I have added the account under "Accounts" and it said it was successfully added and is in the account list. However, I'm not getting any emails...not the old ones or new ones coming in. My gmail account is working just great. How can I get my hotmail to work?
I've had this phone for about a year and have always had issues of not receiving Hotmail emails within a reasonable amount of time. With the GB update it did get a little better but today when I turned on my phone at 7am and it's now 10:30am I have not received any emails. I checked my Hotmail account on a desktop pc and I had 12 emails since last night as recently as 15 minutes ago. I thought GB was supposed to fix this. My battery life is not better if possibly worse with GB. And yes my Droid X does turn back on when I turn it off. Looks like GB may have fixed some things but broke others
Well now I have a new issue. Trying to get rid of my hotmail account and it won't let me remove it. I go to Messaging >> Menu >> Manage accounts >> select and hold on my hotmail account >>Select Remove account >> "Are you sure..." select Yes >>
Error Removing Account
Is there another way to force the account to be removed?
I have maybe 15 total folders in my hotmail account. On my Electrify, I am running the hotmail app. While it shows my other folders,I can't get it to sync to show the emails that populate those folders. I've messed with every app setting there is to no avail.
an issue receiving Hotmail on Droid x after the 2.3.3 update? I can send an e-mail, but I can't receive one. I've done everything I can think of from changing ports, to re-adding the account, many factory reset, battery pulls, reboots, cache clears and had to call tech support. After several hours on the phone with both Verizon and Motorola tech's as well as these forums to try to resolve the issue the best answer I was given was to try an app off the market place or ship my phone to Motorola for repair.
I recently had to get a replacement Atrix through AT&T after my original one shattered. I had insurance and AT&T provided me a refurbished one through their insurance program. My question is, will I still be able to get all future updates on this phone or is there something I need to do?
I currently have a Droid Pro, wanted to set up Hotmail as IMAP or Active Sync. Currently have it set up as POP3, but wanted the full capabilities from the phone. (Yes, I know, the simple answer is to switch to gmail, but I have had this hotmail account for many years). I have tried the steps listed here: [URL]
Added a Corporate Sync account. Entered these parameters: Email Address: <my email> Password: <my password> Domain: Blank Username: <my email> Server: m.hotmail.com Use secure connection: Checked
When I enter these details, it adds the account to the phone. However, when I go into that account, after a few minutes I get an error: "Unable to connect to Hotmail1." The strange thing is, I am able to see my subfolder set up after it timed out while trying to connect. How to get Hotmail working on a Droid Pro...other than POP3?
