Nov 9, 2011Is there a way to have the phone shut itself down at a set tihme every night? I can't find anything other than the battery saver night mode.

Dec 5, 2011I got the Atrix 4g in Sept, It was a toss up between that or an Iphone 4. My 3GS was dying and I was due for an update. I went with the Atrix.
It was a great phone, until it was run over at a construction site. I had insurance and the next day I got a replacement, a refurb. The phone would shut down, or lock up I'm not sure what it was. I would have the phone in my shirt pocket and after a while I would feel it warming up, a lot. I would hit the "on" button and nothing. I would wait and nothing happened. It finally got to the point the only way the phone would start was take the battery out and put it back in. With an Otterbox this was getting to be an issue. This is my third replacement and it's doing the same thing.

Jul 27, 2011I downloaded the new Gingerbread update yesterday and now the Atrix in USB mode (connected to my PC) upon power off will start right back up. This does not happen with my car charger where its charging but in off mode.

Jul 24, 2012My phone beeped twice then vibrated twice then shut off like as if the battery died well did this while it was plugged in the charger and then it wouldn't turn back on not even the charge screen, well I did what most would do first pull the battery and put it back in. Tried a different charger, then tried with charger plugged in and battery pulled, nothing Worked.
Then I pulled the sd card and the sim card then plugged it in without the battery installed so no battery, no sd card, no sim card booted to a screen showing battery missing. Put the battery back in and it still showed the battery missing so I unplugged the charge cord pulled the battery again installed the sd card and sim card put the battery back in plugged the charge cord back in... now recognizes battery and is charging. Will see if it keeps a charge after it gets a full charge.

Nov 6, 2011I am getting a SIM card full notification just about daily. I have noticed no functionality failure. I have deleted all contacts from the SIM card. The phone at preset has exactly two SMS messges showing in handcent and is displaying about 15 emails in the gmail applet. I am sure I am missing something.

Oct 27, 2011I have a Motorola Atrix on AT&T. I've called technical support multiple times but still have the issue. In my apartment, my phone shows full bars but when I dial a call out, the phone will hang up right away. Other times it will hang itself up and error "call failed".
I've been to the corporate store where they have given me a new SIM card, but it still does not fix my issue. I am trying to figure out if this is a hardware or network issue so I can contact the right people to have the issue fixed.
If my phone is showing full bars that means I have network coverage.
Motorola Atrix 4G :: Auto Focus Is Not Working
Jun 15, 2011I first discovered that the camera is locked on fixed focus about a week ago when I tried to take a picture of a barcode. The camera takes good pictures as long at the subject is atleast 2' away. This camera actually does not auto focus or focus at all (do some tests yourself). The irony is that there is a "macro" mode under the scenes setting but that does not help either. I called Motorola and they seem to be aware that their phone which is advertised as having auto focus does not actually focus. They have no estimate on a fix for this problem.

Jun 7, 2011I have the brightness of my Atrix automatically adapted however I feel that I could live with generally two or three levels lower and therefore save battery life? Especially when it is dark I feel like it is MUCH to bright! Is there any possibility to tell the automatic brightness control "Do it always two levels lower"?

It is impossible to have every name in any database, so if I capitalize a word, it should just leave it alone. I have typed so many things on fb and elsewhere only to see a name of a person or place coming up something ridiculous after I put it up.

My question/ observation deals with video play. Some sites show "postage stamp" that can be stretched while others show full screen automatically. Jul 4, 2011I have noticed that my screen rotation no longer works on my Atrix. The phone still detects the correct orientation (AndroSensor app's 'Orientation' degrees change correctly as I rotate the phone). Games that rely on the accelerometer still function normally. The operating system just seems to do nothing when I rotate. Browser doesn't go to landscape, and other apps that normally can switch to landscape, just don't. The setting to Auto-rotate is checked.I have pulled the battery, I have rebooted, I have tried changing settings, rebooting, changing them again, but I can't get it to work as it did a few days ago. Searching this sort of problem online seems to come up with similar issues with other people across a myriad of different Android devices, yet no one really has any solution on how to fix besides doing a 'factory reset'. A factory reset doesn't seem to be a good fix for this to me.
The closest reasonable explanation I can come up with is that with the added Motorola software, there might possibly be another 'rotation' setting behind the scenes that we can't access that got out of sync with the normal Android rotation settings (read on how this might be an explanation for the problem on Samsung phones), but who knows what is really going on. Very annoying though, since the phone sensors appear to be working properly. I can't even write a simple text message in landscape mode because of this, making it frustratingly difficult with the small on-screen keys on the regular mode.
Motorola Atrix 4G :: Auto Entering/completing Text Entries
Aug 25, 2011Has anybody figured out how to stop the auto entering of words within a text message? I've looked through all the settings, and just can't figure it out. Before the update, I use to be able to just double hit the space bar to make a period. Now, I've noticed that depending on the last word I typed, it will also throw in another word that it "thinks" I'm going to enter.

Jun 28, 2011I have recently updated my Bell Atrix to the latest version that came out. I did it OTA and everything went great. Some applications appear much smaller on the screen than they should. For example WeatherEye appears as if it were zoomed out. It also happens the same way with Swiftkey X beta, which shows up about 1/2 as big as it should.

Apr 8, 2012i got an 4s for my mom on early january. the phone was ok until end of march, the phone keep auto shutting down and have to get hard reset to on (sometimes hard reset not working, and have to plug to pc sync with itunes to restore). after got this auto off problem, i called the carier company, they asked me to update ios 5.1, but problem still. i read some threads here and online, and understand that if got panic.plist have to get replacement.however, after i restore (N times), sometimes panic.plist not show up (but the phone still will auto off). just because i'm signing plan with malaysia's mobile carier, i couldn't get replacement on the spot, and some asked me to wait till they call, some even told me to leave the phone to them about month to get replacement.

Jul 13, 2011I have read help files about the default auto-kill option in the task manager. But it does't explicitley specify which apps can be added to the auto-kill list. I would like to way to know which of the stock apps can be added to the list. I have noticed that my battery usage for idle phone in the range of 30-35% (which I believe a bit high). May be the default apps I already have added to auto-kill are required by motoblur and hence started automatically, thus causing a loop.I have installed only 3 apps uptill now so i am sure they arn't causing this problem
