two things are bothering me...
1) sometimes software crashes (any, not related to a specific title) , just disappears ant tile screen is back. Today the phone completely shut down in a second and only removing the battery bring it back to live.
2) In standby, there is a sound like it is switching the speaker all the time on and off.
My s6 is making a funny noise randomly. Not sure what's making it happen.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI bought a new Bb torch 9860 the day before. It was working perfectly fine until this evening. It has now stopped turning off completely which it was doing very well before. Now it goes into a standby - like mode and quickly turns on when the red button is pressed. Earlier it used to take time in loading (I know it's a time saver but what if I want to switch off my phone completely to give it some rest). I am unable to switch it off completely other than by the method of removing it's battery. Also, it had stopped showing recent updates in bbm and was suddenly not playing any media file before this thing happened. These two have now been resolved but the turn off thing still wont work.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI hope this hasn't been asked before; if it has and I searched on the wrong keywords, my apologies.Is it possible to set the Lumia 710 up so that it ends a current call when I press the button on top of the phone to put it into standby mode?
I've been caught a couple of times when leaving voicemail messages by the fact that I press the button, the 'phone plays a "ker-lick" noise and the screen goes black; but when I switch it back on again, the connection's still open and the call is still on-going.
Normally, this isn't an issue, as the call ends when the other party puts their phone down, or the voicemail reaches the end of the available message time; but I recently called someone who's got an honest-to-goodness answerphone on the shelf next to their phone, and it was happy to leave the connection open for well over an hour. As a result, I've just received a bill from my provider costing two-and-a-half times as much as usual - money I can scarce afford as I'm currently "resting" between jobs.
It would be neat if switching the phone off (or, at least, putting the phone on standby) ended the current call.
It may just be the shutter and associated noises attributed to readying the camera to take vivid picture, but hears a few short clicks and such when booting up there camera, whether from an app or by holding down the camera button.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI am having an issue with the 950s screen responsiveness and hoping a few other ow red could confirm if they are also so I know if it's a bad screen or something else.
When the phone is laying flat on a hard surface the screen is completely unresponsive. As soon as a pick it up everything is fine.
The other issue is in regards to the keyboard which seems to be hit or miss on recognizing input near the edges of the screen.
I suspect it could be the tempered glass screen protector but I don't want to remove it if others have the issue if there is a known software issue.
Since I have updated to Gingerbread my phone is making faint clicking noises when moving the phone or interacting with the touch screen. It is intermittent and can occur when the display has timed out. Is anyone else experiencing this? Since the update I have performed a factory reset in an attempt to address this and other issues and the sounds have persisted. This has become an annoyance to me, are there any settings I should be checking to address this?

View 2 Replies View RelatedMy Lumia 950 has started making a little hiss and 'pop' noise every six seconds when I'm not using it. I first noticed it last night, because the phone was on a bedside table in a quiet room. Rebooting the phone fixed it at the time, but today I noticed that it was making the noise again. Every six seconds it sounds as if I had gently tapped the plastic body of the Lumia with a fingernail. It's clearly audible in a quiet room when the phone is in my pocket.If I raise the Lumia 950 and put the rear speaker to my ear, I hear about a second of white-noise static followed by a "pop" noise. Hiss-pop. When the phone is unlocked and in use, the speaker makes a contiuous low static hiss. It only hiss-pops when the screen is in standby. Volume levels and disabling glance seem to have no effect. Putting it into airplane mode also has no impact, so I guess it's not likely to be interference from the radios?

OK, looked at every app , every notification, every sound on the device and cannot find this. My phone makes two strange sounds. Sometimes once a day, sometimes twice in 5 minutes. No rhyme or reason. And after the sound, I check everything from messages, to voicemail, to app updates, to Ebay to - you name it, and nothing new.One sound sounds like :di-di di dih-goosz goosz goosz with the "goosz's" getting lower in volume and sounding gritty.
The other sound is similar, but different.Any ideas at all? I know if I go to the Apple store it will never happen when I am there.
So lets have a poll of some sort. As soon as you unplug your phone at 100% charge, what is the average and immediate stand by time. I'll go first. Mine says: 1 day and 3 hours.

1) I can text, email, surf, but I CANT call people. When I try to call people, it says "emergency calls only."
2) All of the icons/email preview does not show up on the home page. Even after a hard reset they were still not there.I also tried putting my SIM card into another phone, and it worked perfectly fine, but when I put that person's SIM card into my Nokia phone, it had the same problem. Is there ANYTHING I can do to fix it? I only bought it in December, so I'm hoping Nokia will just send me a new one.I'm a Mac guy who also has an interest in Symbian/Android.
Is there a hack or an app that makes the edge lighting work when the phone is face up? I like knowing who is texting me by the edge lighting but don't always want to have the phone face down.

With EDGE i should have almost 2 days of battery.But with 3g I am having a lot of troubles usually 6 hours, I have been reading that if your phone changes a lot from 3g to 1EX it drains your battery quick has this been confirmed? this can be the cause? I am not sure what to do now
When I playing game or using internet explorer, it feel hot , then I stop playing and stop using phone, standby mode, it continue feeling hot and reduce battery life.
View 9 Replies View Relatedlast night a weird thing happened... i was using my phone normally, with 3g turned on, and after a few minutes of browsing through the whats new place in the me hub, the phone just hung... i could not do anything with it. so, i tried turning it off, but din't work. i tried connecting it to the charger, din't work. Finally, i did a hard reset by pressing the lock button for 10 seconds. then after that when i connected the phone to the charger, it turned ON and the nokia logo came up on the screen... nothing happened affter that and it remained like tat for 1 hour. again i did a hard reset, same problem happened. so, i left it to charge all night and still the same thing in the morning... and also a battery symbol with a red line at the bottom is shown before the nokia logo appears.... now i cannot use the phone... what do i do now??

View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm still pretty confused and with some of them out of date I'm not sure where I stand. The phone crashed yesterday and I need to try and rescue video of my godson's first steps which wasnt backed up!
It had half battery at the time. It has rebooted by itself in the past but dunno how often as I dont keep watch on it. I did notice over the course of the day that the widgets/shortcuts on the desktop had seemed to stop working, but didnt take the time to restart it.
Got a new battery (another 35Euro!) and had them both charged just in case. Here's whats happening. Dunno if anybody can decipher it:
- when I switch it on with the battery, I get the NOKIA logo, backlight and steady blue status indicator, goes dead after 30secs
- Battery out, usb in: status indicator one flash orange. Thats it until I put the battery in again and I get a vibrate and NOKIA logo without backlight. After 30 secs it dies and repeats this cycle automatically
- if I switch it on with the battery in and plug it in while the backlight is on, it again vibrates and has dark logo, except now orange light stays steady every second cycle. If I take the battery out, the orange indicator stays on.
I dunno what firmware is on it, but I dont remember updating it in about two months. I wonder if flashing is a suitable thing for me to try or is my phone a gonner?
So I restarted my phone a few minutes ago. When it powered back up I get a warning: "Unfortunately, the process com.google.process.gaps has stopped". I hit ok, but the warning just pops back up. It stays off long enough for me to power off and back on again, but that's not working.

View 1 Replies View RelatedYesterday I downloaded a new app from the play store, and after about 10 minutes of messing around with the app, it locked up my S6. So i tried to kill the app, no luck. Did a soft reset, vibrated and powered down. Upon reboot, the screen flickered the "powered by android" splash screen and went through its normal boot with the screen black. Tried to get the screen to turn on, but now it only flickers with a green vertical line, and then turn the screen turns right back off... Everything seems to be fine on the phone, ie, i can take pictures(auto upload to dropbox), screen shots, and even answer any incoming calls. But the screen wont turn on. Waiting for the battery to drain to see what will happen, when its dead and i try to plug it in.

I am getting notifications and have set up a wallpaper again, but all the icons have either diappeared or changed and nothing is as it should be. How in earth do I get it back? And how can I get back the missing icons (eg the apps icon has gone)?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI'm well aware that these aren't flip phones and especially with some of the beefier hardware (ie. 950) it takes a while to get the phone to boot if you let it die completely. Until this point that "while" has usually been a few minutes. I let my battery completely die for the first time since owning my 950 and it's been plugged into the wall for about 30 minutes and still won't boot. I just get the empty battery icon.
View 14 Replies View RelatedI have had my G3 for about 2 years now, last week my phone screen went green then rebooted and when the phone turned back on it displayed a menu to either reboot or go into dload mode. If you choose to reboot the phone it would loop back to the same menu. I brought my phone to sprint and they said there was nothing they could do and that the phone had crashed. Now the phone turns on and goes to a blue screen and shuts off after the LG startup screen. I got a new phone but the issue i am having is that the phone has very important pictures and videos on it. Is there anyway to recover these?

So when I type, especially with typing in landscape it clicks and makes this weird sound like there is something sticky under the screen. Anyone else had this issue? When the call ended I took the phone from my ear to hang up the call, but the screen had gone completely blank.I know the phone is on and it is charged. When I press any of the back arrow ← / windows icon / magnifying glass, the phone does react in the same way it does if I were to touch these when the phone is on, but locked.However, nothing appears on the screen it just remains blank.I have tried calling my phone from another phone, and it rang as it would if my phone was on but the screen is still blank.Has the screen permanently died and the phone need replacing?
My new Nokia 6350 indicates "Camera on Standby" and I cannot get off it standby. I have
1. taken out the battery and
2. reset the phone.
