I have no use for the feature. I like to have my lock-screen lock after 15 minutes idle and then require a pin. Is this still possible? I think this is the only thing making me hesitant to buy a 950.

View 23 Replies View RelatedI'm having a recurring problem where after fully charging my Bionic for the night, the Wi-Fi function will disable itself completely. When I say "completely", I mean that there is no way I can turn it back on! When I go into the "Wi-Fi" or "Wi-Fi Setting" function in Settings, the "Wi-Fi" button is displayed in gray instead of solid black, so I can't even select it at all.
View 7 Replies View RelatedMy Windows 7 64-bit machine hangs completely after some minutes using Nokia Suite 3.3.89 connected with a E72 through USB cable.When connecting, everything goes fine and I can usually synchronize data successfully between the E72 and computer. I can also connect to Internet successfully through the E72 modem.However, after some minutes (usually 4-5),the computer hangs completely,with the screen frozen and beign completely irresponsive to any mouse or key input.The only way to unlock it is to press the computer On/Off key and restart it completely.

Wll, when I tried connecting my phone, it says "Your phone is having troubles" error message. The instruction says to power off the phone. But no luck. Tried searching MS community but nothing there (but I won't rule out I didn't search well. Also, I posted the same question there and waiting for a response.)
View 10 Replies View Relatedlast night a weird thing happened... i was using my phone normally, with 3g turned on, and after a few minutes of browsing through the whats new place in the me hub, the phone just hung... i could not do anything with it. so, i tried turning it off, but din't work. i tried connecting it to the charger, din't work. Finally, i did a hard reset by pressing the lock button for 10 seconds. then after that when i connected the phone to the charger, it turned ON and the nokia logo came up on the screen... nothing happened affter that and it remained like tat for 1 hour. again i did a hard reset, same problem happened. so, i left it to charge all night and still the same thing in the morning... and also a battery symbol with a red line at the bottom is shown before the nokia logo appears.... now i cannot use the phone... what do i do now??

I have tried all the usual tricks and tips, reset etc... nothing is working. Vodafone are being a nightmare to try and deal with.
View 10 Replies View RelatedI'm well aware that these aren't flip phones and especially with some of the beefier hardware (ie. 950) it takes a while to get the phone to boot if you let it die completely. Until this point that "while" has usually been a few minutes. I let my battery completely die for the first time since owning my 950 and it's been plugged into the wall for about 30 minutes and still won't boot. I just get the empty battery icon.

When the call ended I took the phone from my ear to hang up the call, but the screen had gone completely blank.I know the phone is on and it is charged. When I press any of the back arrow ← / windows icon / magnifying glass, the phone does react in the same way it does if I were to touch these when the phone is on, but locked.However, nothing appears on the screen it just remains blank.I have tried calling my phone from another phone, and it rang as it would if my phone was on but the screen is still blank.Has the screen permanently died and the phone need replacing?
I have my lumia 800 for a week, and now its happening something strange.. When I'm in a call for some time, and I want to end it the phone doesn't let me. Its still responsive, I can go to the start screen, etc.. but the phone call remains on top with the message "ENDING". After a couple of minutes the phone freezes completely and reboot.

1) sometimes software crashes (any, not related to a specific title) , just disappears ant tile screen is back. Today the phone completely shut down in a second and only removing the battery bring it back to live.
2) In standby, there is a sound like it is switching the speaker all the time on and off.
I'm using an unlocked ATT 1020 on Tmobile and when I enabled internet sharing, it would tell me to call 611 and request the feature from ATT. But if I disabled LTE, tethering would work and then I could re-enable it. Now, with cyan, the phone recognizes that it's going through tmobile, but states that I don't have the mobile hotspot service (I do have it) and takes me to a message to upgrade my plan. When I click upgrade, it takes me to a page to call Tmobile. Upon calling them, after dealing with someone who swore my plan didn't include tethering (it certainly does), I got transferred to someone else.
After some steps and some research on their side, I was told that the only thing that made sense was that when I changed my plan to a higher data plan (recently, where I was assured nothing would change except the amount of data), the system saw that my phone was not a Tmobile one and kicked tethering off. She stated that there was no way to manually re-add it because it just kicks it off again. For the record, all of the other phones on my plan still work with tethering (one other phone is a non-tmobile iphone). Also, a friend of mine has a 1520.3 on the same plan and cyan actually made internet sharing work when it wasn't working before. So confused and frustrated.
I don't know if this was actually something cyan changed or if it really was the plan change, because I believe the last time I tried internet sharing was before both changes. I want to try my sim card in a pre-cyan, non-tmobile WP and see what happens.
I've updated my nokia lumia 1020 and I've noticed that the calendar app doesn't work!!!You can see it at the start menu but in darker colour....I've tried sync again my microsoft account but nothing happens.

I notice the flash behavior, if camera flash fire twice the picture is fine but fire only once then the picture is totally dark. I already reset the phone twice but still the same.

I cant seem to clear the icon unless I turn the phone hard-off and back on again. I have call forwarding permanently disabled so is this a bug? View 8 Replies View RelatedI am having an issue with the 950s screen responsiveness and hoping a few other ow red could confirm if they are also so I know if it's a bad screen or something else.
When the phone is laying flat on a hard surface the screen is completely unresponsive. As soon as a pick it up everything is fine.
The other issue is in regards to the keyboard which seems to be hit or miss on recognizing input near the edges of the screen.
I suspect it could be the tempered glass screen protector but I don't want to remove it if others have the issue if there is a known software issue.
Battery drops at the rate 12% per hour, when phone is connected to WIFI, GPS off, cell data off, and phone is on standby mode.
Often times the drain rate is 25% per hour, when cell data 3G on GPS ON and moderate usage of internet explorer.
My phone runs WP8.1 CYAN DEV PREVIEW. All background tasks have been disabled already. What to do to improve battery.
I have had Denim on my 1520 for a while now. (UK CV). Yesterday, I had extensive usage of the phone and it slipped into battery saver mode at 20% - an abnormal occurrence for me.
Anyway, when Battery Saver enabled, the backlight behind the Back-Start-Search keys went out. And I was using the phone in the dark, walking home.
Upon regaining power, the lights came back again.
I tweeted Lumia on the mysterious occurrence which definitely did not happen in Cyan. Their response today seemed to indicate a fixable software thing - soft reset, see what happens. I have yet to try that.
An easy way to see: Enable "Now until next charge" in Battery Saver. Doing this on mine immediately extinguishes the backlight on the capacitive keys.
I'm an happy owner of a lumia 1520. unfortunately i discovered that randomly (more or less once per week) the phone audio service / device completely stops, i cannot hear calls, xbox music or other players fail to play files and so on. xbox music reports error 8007045D. I have to restart the device to solve the issue.

On w8 the new Windows Phone app downloads when the phone is first plugged in, but the software never reconizes the handset, it just gives a "your phone is notplaying nice error".

View 1 Replies View RelatedI just upgraded from a Lumia 521 to a Lumia 1320 last week. I can't run Windows Phone 8.1 DP on my new 1320. Apparently it's something to do with Cricket Wireless. WP 8.1 DP will install, but then it's frequent crash/restart loops. On my Lumia 521, there was a setting to enable pushing store apps/updates from Windows Phone Store in IE 11 on my Windows 8.1 Pro x64 pc to my phone.
I can't remember where the setting was in Windows Phone 8.1 for enabling this. Also, on my Lumia 521 in the Lock Screen settings, I could set the time to never, 30 minutes, 15 minutes. 5 minutes, 3 minutes or 1 minute. On my Lumia 1320 the settings are only 1 minute, 3 minutes or 5 minutes. Is there a way to get the old settings for this back ? The 30 minutes or never is useful for updates or backups. The 5 minute crap stinks.
Been using BlackBerry phones for a long time. Recently bought the priv - while it's a great phone I cannot stand android. So thinning of selling it and buying the lumia 950.
I'm wondering is there a way to transfer contents from priv to Windows phone?
I want to transfer pictures, sms and whatsapp mainly.
Given that WM10 is so new, I was just wondering if people were signing up for Windows Insider or just going to wait for regular updates when they come available.
