When I playing game or using internet explorer, it feel hot , then I stop playing and stop using phone, standby mode, it continue feeling hot and reduce battery life.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI charged my phone to 100% last night and unpluged it last night before going to bed. 10 hours later, when I got up, my battery had went down all the way to 68% and with no apps running in the background... All while my iPhone's currently running on IOS 5.1.1. I never had this problem with IOS 5.1, when the battery would only drop to around 97% overnight.

Seems like the brightness of the capacitive buttons on the Lumia 1520 with the Denim update stays on high. The buttons seem much brighter in low light. Is there a way to turn off or reduce the brightness for the buttons?
View 24 Replies View RelatedAs you know WP users when our phones gets low battery our buttons turn off (Back, Home, and Search buttons) they turn off but not on my 1520 anymore they still light even when battery is low I went to Display settings the "Battery saver brightness" option is activated this option used to turn them off when my battery gets low also it doesn't really reduce the screen brightness as used to do the brightness still as the same it doesn't reduce it or something.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI finally broke down and installed the Atrix HD update yesterday. What a mistake. Prior to installing the update, I could drive from home to work and have the battery drop from 100% to 95% in about 20 minutes or so (which, is terrible as well). Today after installing the update my battery went from 100% to 87% in the same 20 minutes. I can't believe that an update that was presented good for battery life actually makes it worse! I can say however, that the performance of the phone is better (touch responses, less laggy, etc, but I am sure that is at the cost of battery life). Other than a hard reset is there anyway to get this update off of the the phone?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have had Denim on my 1520 for a while now. (UK CV). Yesterday, I had extensive usage of the phone and it slipped into battery saver mode at 20% - an abnormal occurrence for me.
Anyway, when Battery Saver enabled, the backlight behind the Back-Start-Search keys went out. And I was using the phone in the dark, walking home.
Upon regaining power, the lights came back again.
I tweeted Lumia on the mysterious occurrence which definitely did not happen in Cyan. Their response today seemed to indicate a fixable software thing - soft reset, see what happens. I have yet to try that.
An easy way to see: Enable "Now until next charge" in Battery Saver. Doing this on mine immediately extinguishes the backlight on the capacitive keys.
Like the title says, will the battery die faster and need a quicker replacement if I keep the phone connected to the charger for long times? What exactly happens when the phone says "battery full, unplug charger to save power" and the white charging indicator goes off? Does the phone software automatically stop the charging process?Laugh, and the world laughs with you. Cry, and the world laughs louder :-)

The strangest thing happened yesterday. My phone was on %9 battery life and I decided to keep it as I was out and I put it in my pocket. In less than 10 minutes I pulled it out and it was dead, no responce. It actually chewed %9 percent while being on standby. No extras were turned on, bluetooth was off and wifi was off too.
Last night I went to bed and my phone was %53 percent charged and I left it locked next to my bed. I woke up this morning finding my phone completelly dead?
I will monitor it closelly over the next week but I had it for a year and this had never happened. The only common denominator is installing the new IOS.

Finally got around to sticking my SIM card into my 6P and decided to leave it off the charger over night to see how much battery percentage it would take away. I fell asleep with the battery at 55% and awoke with it around 30%. Looking at the battery usage, cell standby is consuming more of the battery than anything else. I've seen this bug in previous versions of Android, but have not heard anything about it with 6.0. Is my phone bad?
I'm on Verizon if that matters at all.
I was just wondering what everyone else's experience with the battery life was. What's your best standby and usage time and was it with push email on or off?

I have a user with a E72. It has the most up to date firmware. The user is finding that the battery does not last very long. By mid day the phone is almost out of life. He is not making lots of calls. Life goes while on standby. We have also brought a new battery, still has the problem. The battery is a genuine Nokia battery.

I've seen many people claim that enabling 'double tap to wake' will drain your battery faster. On the settings page where you enable this setting, Nokia even says "this reduces battery life". I tried to measure it myself. After doing a number of normal discharge cycles with the feature enabled, I did one with it disabled. I didn't change any other settings. I used the phone normally in both runs - very similar usage.
I found that disabling this setting produced no significant change in battery life. In both runs that I compared, my battery level was at about 20% after about 3 days. See the attached graphs for my results. The first graph is with the setting on. After just a little under 3 days it was very close to 20%. The second graph is with the setting off. After exactly 3 days it was a little above 20%. These results are not exactly the same but I don't think they're significantly different. Not as different as I was expecting.
My wife's 4S has been running down about 50% overnight in standby so I decided to investigate it. The basic problem is that it is showing a usage figure of almost the same as the standby figure while in standby indicating that something is running. After trying all sorts of things (including a restore), in desperation today I restored her backup to my 4S and my backup to her 4S. The problem remains with hers which is really strange indicating a hardware problem, but the fact it is showing too much usage would indicate software.

View 5 Replies View RelatedOver the past two weeks, I have observed that my MOTOACTV has twice entered a Failure Mode in which current drawn from the battery in Standby if far higher than spec and even higher than playing music through wired headsets only. The cause is unknown, but may be related to another MOTOACTV Failure Mode - music player freak out. In the first instance, I left the unit in Standby at 70% charge and found 14 hours later that it had turned itself off - battery depleted. I powered it up, charged it and was surprised during my run to find that my SF200 wired headset line switch was functional again - the music player had not responded to the SF200 line switch for several days.
In the second instance, late on Tuesday night Feb 28, I noticed that the state-of-charge of my battery was sliding rapidly and placed it on the charger. After my morning run the next day, I charged it fully and monitored the battery. The result is charted in the image below. According to published specifications, the MOTOACTV should last 325 hours on one full charge. I have conducted extensive battery tests on my unit and have never been able to achieve a Standby discharge rate much better than 0.71%/hr or 140 hours full discharge equivalent. The Standby battery life spec should be revised. As published, it is misleading at best. In Failure Mode - Excessive Battery Drain in Standby, I measured a Standby discharge rate of 6.73%/hr or just under 15 hours of battery life in Standby on a full charge.
I do not know why my unit enters this Failure Mode. But I know I am not alone. AlmariaTeach is probably replacing his unit right now to remedy what looks like the same issue. But his device could not be cured by rebooting or factory reset, so it may have been a more advanced case. In both instances, a power-off reboot restored 'normal' Standby power use behavior and revived a non-functioning music player line switch to perfect working order.
I've been testing the E72 for a client but we've now been through three of them because of poor battery life; battery life on limited usage (2 or 3 calls, 15 minutes of web browsing and business hours Exchange active sync) results in all examples struggling to make 8 hours before the battery dies - just 1.6% of the quoted ~500 hours standby figure - surely that's not right?There are no active wifi connections, which reminds me: on the E72, how do you enable 'flight mode' and separately, disable just the wifi?Current device software version is 021.024.207.01; it can't find any updates to it.

I have location, Hey Cortana and most background apps turned off and still get the drain. Also I just noticed while charging it takes forever, but when it get's to 40% it goes up to 100% in less than 10 min.

View 1 Replies View RelatedPhone boots into airplane mode and when you try to disable airplane mode the signal icon goes nuts and quickly flips back and forth between no signal and signal.
The problem is the USB/Microphone daughterboard that is connected to the mainboard by a ribbon cable and two antenna cables. The fault lies in this board and replacing it will fix the symptoms.
The phone does not go into sleep mode after 1 minute. After using the phone for 20 or 30 minutes, does not go into sleep mode, showing the home screen forever.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI cracked my screen on my original 1520. AT&T sent a replacement device (via Insurance). As soon as I got the phone, I installed Preview for Developers and checked for phone update. After updating and restarting, the phone is stuck on airplane mode. When you go into settings and try to tap the button to switch to off it doesn't do anything, however, when I swipe it to the left the toggle moves but once you let go it goes right back to the right. You can toggle the airplain mode on/off in the notifications bar but the phone still shows it is on airplane mode with no data or phone service.
I have already turned phone off and on and have also hard resetted the phone to no avail. What is odd is before the update, phone was working fine with phone service and everything, now it's just stuck on airplane mode with no service, but everything else works fine.
