I just ran the latest updates and having all sorts of issues. battery life very poor and it won't wake up from standby/ sleep mode. Looks like there might be more bugs in this latest update. I had issues before with the email setup application which resulted in a replacement handset! I have to keep pulling the battery to reset it!!!
View 5 RepliesI was updating my Blackberry Bold 9780 using Deskop Software when my computer went into sleep mode (forgot to change the settings). So when I woke it up, "app error 200" occurred on my bb screen and I had to reset it and stop the update. Now it won't turn on. I tried the battery pull but nothing changed. The progress bar on the welcome screen goes almost until its end and stops, after some time the same error screen appears.

If you don't care about reading the story I'm looking for a way to put my phone into DFU mode without the sleep/wake button. Last week my sleep wake button mysteriously stopped working. For a time it would work with every 5th or 6th press, but now it doesn't work at all. So for the past week I've had to forgo the use of the sleep/wake button, which means that when I'm done using my phone I had to put it into my pocket and hope I didn't hit anything until it shut itself off.
It's been manageable, but I have dreaded the day that my iPhone froze or anything, because I have effectively no way to restart the the device. Turns out that day was this evening - it froze while I was in Gmail, and I was unable to do anything. Home button was non-responsive - basically the whole OS locked up. Now obviously if I had a working sleep/wake button I could have probably held down both that and the home screen and forced the iPhone to restart - clearly I don't have that option in this case...
Worse yet, I decided to try to fix my sleep/wake button, so I took my phone apart. I wasn't able to really figure out what was going on with the sleep/wake button, and while I had the case cracked open it died. Once I got everything plugged in again, the phone turned back on, and sat at the Apple logo screen for a long time, after which it superimposed a spinning wheel over top of the logo. Truth be told, I don't think that disconnecting the screen had anything to do with the spinning wheel, I think it's a result of the OS completely locking up (the likes of which I've never seen the iPhone do before... so something in the OS must have become corrupted... at least that's my theory anyway).
It has been/continues to be stuck in this loop. I'm not sure whether letting the device die and naturally resetting itself will do the trick. I'm leaning towards the idea that it probably won't help the situation. I have not yet tried to do a restore, because I'm worried that it won't work, and then I'll lose my backup as well.
So yah... does anyone know how to force the iPhone into DFU mode without the sleep/wake button?
I see how to keep my PC (XP) from going into sleep-mode, so Zumocast can access files. It would be cool if, PC didn't have to stay awake 24-7so as to save power, noise, PC fan life. Can Zumocast do that? My Squeezebox server has the capability for the remote device to wake it.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI installed CM12 on my Nexus 5 two month ago and it works fine. But I have the problem that it doesn't react when I press the powerbutton to wake it up from deepsleep mode. Then I could only reboot it.
I changed the "network type" in the settings to "3G" because my provider only supports it and I thought it could solve my problem. But it also hangs up the phone anymore.... I adapted the settings of the phone in the following way:
- Installed "Apex Launcher" as the default one
- Installed Klear Kat CM12 as Theme
- Additional Apps are: Greenify and SD Maid
I just tried the following steps to fix the problem:
1 . Installed another Launcher instead of "Apex Launcher" ---> I had the problem anymore with the other Launcher
2. Installed Open Gapps "nano" instead of "micro" ---> it ran without any crashes of the phone for a period of time. But now I have the problem again....
3. I wiped "cache" and "dalvik cache" again in TWRP --> System was clean and ran for a while. But after a period of time the problam "came back"
When I'm at home in my Wifi I doesn't have any problems with the phone to wake it up from deepsleep. Lastly I installed CM13 and had done an Fullwipe before... But I've the problem anymore .... I've the feeling that the phone looses it's reception and then the Launcher hangs and can't get up of his own....

Since taking delivery of new 6700 couple of days ago the battery is lucky to last 10 hours with the bluetooth turned off, there is a symbol that i cannot find an explanation for which is an @ with a + sign inside it, could this be the reason why or do i just need to send the phone back with a faulty battery ?

It might have been updating email but that shouldn't kill the battery like that. I don't use it that much during the day but it seems to go down really fast. I'm currently at 47% and it estimates 1 hour left....

I'm a very heavy user of my phone and managed to get 8 hours of screen on time out of it in between charges. I'm not sure if it has been gradual or sudden but I've noticed that lately, the battery life on my phone only lasts for about 3 hours of screen on time. I use my phone for the same things as I did when I first got it.
When I got my phone it was preinstalled with 4.4.4, I got the 5.0.2 update in mid-april and I got the 5.1.1 update a few days ago.
Since upgrading to iOS 5.1.1 battery life is very poor.

The upgrade fetched my iPhone 4S very poor battery life. After just 4 hours of normal usage (text, phone and very little email), the remaining battery is only 19%! The previous iOS gave me just a little more. The one that gave me the best battery life was the original iOS 5.0.1. Not sure how to downgrade or if there is a fix for this with the current iOS.
Wifi and location services were also OFF the whole time!

My usage is typically around this:1 hour on the phone.15 minutes of Twitter. 15 minutes of browsing on 3G. No bluetooth/ WiFi/ Internet sharing on most days. Manual brightness setting. Battery Saver on. Dark backgroundLocation settings off. Email refresh after 1 hour. XBox signed out. I can't think of anything else I can do to reduce my power consumption. I'm using the firmware version 1066.0000.8779.12201, which according to my Customer care is the latest firmware version. Nokia claims a 720 hr standby time on 3G, which I am nowhere close to.

He is not making lots of calls. Life goes while on standby. We have also brought a new battery, still has the problem. The battery is a genuine Nokia battery.

I wasnt syncing anything or surfing but it wouldnt stop. I shut down and restarted and even did the software "Battery Pull" but soon enough it would start data again and the battery would be eaten up. It was on 4G. Then finally it would stop an hour or so later. If I start the music app again it starts all over. Here is a thread on another site where we are trying to narrow it down. They think it may be the media server as it shows a lot of data usage!

I charge the blackberrry battery up to 50%, then I unplug the charger then I turn it off. When I sleep, the battery drains so fast, I don't know what's happening, then my battery completely low, so I can't turn on the device.

View 1 Replies View RelatedAnyone see this on their new iPhone 4? Thats the only thing that seems wrong with mine (No yellowing and i havn't noticed reception issues.) Funny thing, i can only notice the flicker when the screen is in some sort of light, if i wake it from sleep in a dark room you can't see a flicker. I just really hope that this doesn't mean something is wrong with the screen because like i said, everything else is perfect.
