I've seen that this seems to be a problem I was wondering if there is a cure for it yet as I do need to get more than 2 hours out my battery. Come on blackberry get your act together. I'm considering going to another phone maker.
View 1 RepliesI've only had this phone for a few months and the battery life is awful, 10 texts later and it's almost dead, one quick phone call same thing. the screen goes dark not long after last communication, I've tried deleting removing apps. This is really odd at least in my opinion I basically only answer a few texts a day and maybe 2 or 3 bbm or nothing at all. wi fi is off.

Since taking delivery of new 6700 couple of days ago the battery is lucky to last 10 hours with the bluetooth turned off, there is a symbol that i cannot find an explanation for which is an @ with a + sign inside it, could this be the reason why or do i just need to send the phone back with a faulty battery ?

It might have been updating email but that shouldn't kill the battery like that. I don't use it that much during the day but it seems to go down really fast. I'm currently at 47% and it estimates 1 hour left....

I'm a very heavy user of my phone and managed to get 8 hours of screen on time out of it in between charges. I'm not sure if it has been gradual or sudden but I've noticed that lately, the battery life on my phone only lasts for about 3 hours of screen on time. I use my phone for the same things as I did when I first got it.
When I got my phone it was preinstalled with 4.4.4, I got the 5.0.2 update in mid-april and I got the 5.1.1 update a few days ago.
Since upgrading to iOS 5.1.1 battery life is very poor.

The upgrade fetched my iPhone 4S very poor battery life. After just 4 hours of normal usage (text, phone and very little email), the remaining battery is only 19%! The previous iOS gave me just a little more. The one that gave me the best battery life was the original iOS 5.0.1. Not sure how to downgrade or if there is a fix for this with the current iOS.
Wifi and location services were also OFF the whole time!

My usage is typically around this:1 hour on the phone.15 minutes of Twitter. 15 minutes of browsing on 3G. No bluetooth/ WiFi/ Internet sharing on most days. Manual brightness setting. Battery Saver on. Dark backgroundLocation settings off. Email refresh after 1 hour. XBox signed out. I can't think of anything else I can do to reduce my power consumption. I'm using the firmware version 1066.0000.8779.12201, which according to my Customer care is the latest firmware version. Nokia claims a 720 hr standby time on 3G, which I am nowhere close to.

He is not making lots of calls. Life goes while on standby. We have also brought a new battery, still has the problem. The battery is a genuine Nokia battery.

Looks like there might be more bugs in this latest update. I had issues before with the email setup application which resulted in a replacement handset! View 5 Replies View RelatedI was working after lunch and noticed that my phone was getting hotter and hotter. When I looked at the screen it showed constant data up and down. I wasnt syncing anything or surfing but it wouldnt stop. I shut down and restarted and even did the software "Battery Pull" but soon enough it would start data again and the battery would be eaten up. It was on 4G. Then finally it would stop an hour or so later. If I start the music app again it starts all over. Here is a thread on another site where we are trying to narrow it down. They think it may be the media server as it shows a lot of data usage!
View 15 Replies View RelatedI’ve got a BlackBerry Curve 8900 (ATT, running 4.2.0.108), and have had it since Oct. 2009. Battery life has always been OK - 24 to 48 hrs. between recharges.
Today though, after pulling it off the charger this morning around 8:00 a.m., I’ve noticed that I’m down to about 5% charge by 2:30 p.m. I have made no phone calls today, and have only sent/received a couple texts and rec’d two emails. I've never used a holster, have downloaded no apps, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi are both off. No keys appear to be sticking. Absolutely nothing, to my knowledge, of any significance has changed on the phone since October, yet all of a sudden --literally, overnight --I am experiencing this greatly diminished battery life. The only even remotely precipitating factor I can think of is that I did a battery pull yesterday, after deleting some old photos and emails.
I’ve searched the forum, and most of the suggestions are along the lines of “turn off bluetooth/wi-fi/update OS,” but as noted, I never used those anyhow, and the OS has always been good to me.
I'd like to ask if the overheating of the battery whenever in Data Plan usage is a normal thing for BlackBerry 9220. I've purchased this a month or 2.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI gave my sister my old curve its about 1 1/2 yrs old. the day i gave it to her the phone worked just fine but after she flew back home the battery would only last her a few minutes. i told her to try a new battery but it still has not changed anything. i even got her to upgrade to 5.0 just to see if it would make any difference but it doesnt.
she barely uses any apps, and mostly uses the phone for emailing.on standby it will every 10minutes or so the battery life will go down by 10%, and after a few texts or a minute or two on a call the phone will just die. she can pretty much just use it when its connected to a power source.Seems like a phone issue but there is no warranty on it
Okay, so I'm on the move a lot, travelling to and from University each day which can take anywhere between 1-2 hours getting there and getting back. I'm always on my phone during travelling as there isb't much else to do and I like to keep in touch with friends. I use Facebook and the internet a lot on their and I understand this is why my battery runs down so quick. Using it for I'd say 3 or so hours and the battery is done, I usually take my usb cable to uni so I can charge it ready for the journey home. Is there anyway I can get the same usage out of it and not drain the battery so much? I am thinking of getting a new battery first off as I'd say the current one would not be able to achieve good life againt, but is there long lasting batteries I can get?

I charged it all night, and the next day took it off the charger at 7am and it died at 1pm. That's a 6 hour lifespan.
