Lumia 1520 :: Any Way To Turn Off Or Reduce Brightness For Buttons
Feb 28, 2015
Seems like the brightness of the capacitive buttons on the Lumia 1520 with the Denim update stays on high. The buttons seem much brighter in low light. Is there a way to turn off or reduce the brightness for the buttons?
As you know WP users when our phones gets low battery our buttons turn off (Back, Home, and Search buttons) they turn off but not on my 1520 anymore they still light even when battery is low I went to Display settings the "Battery saver brightness" option is activated this option used to turn them off when my battery gets low also it doesn't really reduce the screen brightness as used to do the brightness still as the same it doesn't reduce it or something.
When I playing game or using internet explorer, it feel hot , then I stop playing and stop using phone, standby mode, it continue feeling hot and reduce battery life.
I have a question regarding adjusting the screen brightness. I am visually impaired and I want to turn it down as much as possible since I am using Narrator the screen reader in Windowsphone 8.1 so I get Everything in speech.
Well, if I turn the screen brightness down to low, is it easy for someone to see what I am doing or is there an app that will let me almost do the screen dark? On other platforms there are.
Don't know if this was posted before, but I've found out that the screen sensitivity issue is related to screen brightness settings. If I switch auto brightness off and set it to medium, then the issue disappears. However, if I set it to high I can reproduce the issue immediately. Touch sensitivity in settings is set to normal.
My baby dropped my Lumia 1520 and now the speaker is dead (no ring and music at all) also the home and back buttons are always dark (no light at all but they work fine).
Recently the back, and start buttons on my 1520 have not been turning on, or flickering. The search button has not shown any signs of the issue. The buttons still work, and have no functionality issues.
It started randomly, and I notice if I press on certain parts of the phone, the lights may go on or off. They may also go on or off of their own accord.
I had dropped my phone a few days prior, but there was no visible damage, and the issue was delayed.
I'm assuming this is a hardware issue and I would need to replace it in order to fix it, but are there other possibilities?
I have a Lumia 1520, and everything is awesome, but lately, the phone acts up in the way that the 3 buttons get pushed out of a sudden and screen becomes unresponsive, when not even holding the phone. Restarting works, but only for a period of time. I noticed if the place where the sensor is, near the earpiece, is clean, it does not act up like this. Phone was dropped once, but the problem did not appear util very later - 1-3 months. I used the Nokia Recovery Tool to install and re-install the OS, problem is still there.
All the other models of asha got an update recently by which we can reduce the brightness of the screen....but why no update for nokia 302 still and y its left out.........
I've just noticed that the Lumia 1520 (brand new, bought last week) sometimes has the haptic feedback/vibrations turn off by itself when pressing the navigation buttons on the phone. However, they are set to on, in the 'touch' settings (running Lumia cyan now).
When I do a soft reset, the buttons start working for a with vibration, then stop (just to note, they work, just the haptic goes wonky). I tried giving the phone a call - the vibration still works, just doesn't seem to work.
My 1520 acts so weird and, honestly, irritating as well.It sometimes touches on its own the search button which in turn brings up Cortana again and again tens of times and sometimes the back button gets clicked without being touched which in turn brings up the open apps list or whatever it's called. It happens so often and when it does, it causes me to seriously consider hitting the phone, although I've waited almost 6 months for it to come.
I have the Nokia 920 phone from Rogers in Canada. I have been using it for a 4 weeks now and suddenly when it was on the lock screen won't show up just the background without the clock, wifi, 3G or any other icons showing. After that when the screen timed out I can't get it to wake up anymore. When I get a text, call, email it doesn't vibrate. The volume, power or camera buttons don't wake it up. The screen doesn't light up or the touch keys. Does anyone one of a solution or has seen this before? I still have a 60% battery so won't be able to try until tomorrow until the battery dies. Plugging it into USB, I can see the phone on the computer.
Oddly I've noticed this just today. My Lumia 900 buttons never turn off where as they would turn off after x amount of seconds when screen is active. I find this annoying because:It would definately cause my battery to drainI don't really need to see the buttons lit alwaysI'm sure this is part of the latest software release for Nokia Lumia 900 is SW 2175.2301.8779.12223 because I restored to previous firmware and this issue wasn't present.
Last week I wrote regarding my Lumia 1520, not turning off. As a summary, power bottom doesn't work, nor does the reset option. It freezes and glitches constantly, and the only way to turn on the display is by pressing the camera and volume down button, can't turn it off either. I was advised to reset the phone to factory settings, which I did, however problems still persist. I'm wondering this might be a hardware issue.
I have this issue regarding my Lumia 1520. I already notice for a week that even my phone shows 50% up of battery life it just suddenly shut off after it shows Battery Critically Low. I already doe using Microsoft recovery tool but still not able to solve. I try also do hard reset but still didn't resolved the issue.
My l520 is error when i try to turn off the flight mode. so i can not use my sim card. someone said, i have to downgrade. my os is lcyan. and when error, i checking the extras-info and its ldenim. so, i downgrade my os. and now,
My 1520 have a real issue when I turn on the screen from stand by, the screen start to react like if i randomly touching it hundred times. Then if I slide to enter password, the first number i touch once will be entered many times in milliseconds and the device will give me that i entered wrong password. If I lock and unlock the screen it will return to be responsive correctly to my touches. This happens to me many times daily and lately it became more frequent.
I recently dropped my Nokia Lumia 1520, and the top left of the screen is cracked pretty bad, but usually that doesn't stop a phone from working.. When I dropped it the screen froze for about 5 seconds, then randomly shut off.. This is the only phone I have, and insurance is still $200 to replace, and I wouldn't have that for a couple months. I was wondering if there was a way to somehow power it on?
I believe the battery still works, because sometimes when I try to turn it on, the flash blinks, and it gets hot if I leave it on the charger. It doesn't respond when I plug it into the pc, so I doubt it's the display not working...
Is there a way of turning off Tune in Radio short of shutting your phone off or throwing it against a wall because so far I haven't been able to find it.
I've checked every menu multiple times and can't find any way to stop the annoying "buzz" every time I press the 3 touch keys at the bottom.
I found the "touch" menu that says it should have these settings, but nothing in there about this. I did find a few old posts going back about a year for other WP phones having this "issue."
why the buttoms next to the track pad don't turn off, I lock the phone and they keep on. And keyboard light doesn't turn on. I pull out the battery and this doesn't fix it.
I've recently bought a Lumia 950XL. After few days of usage it started to behave strangely which led me to think a hard reset was needed but all those problems appear again after a day or two of using the device.
The problem is when I leave the phone for an hour or so, when I press the power button the display doesn't turn on but the iris scanner starts scanning and even unlocks the phone and after 1 or 2 seconds the screen turns on! The problem doesn't end here unfortunately. The brightness of the screen sets to its lowest and changing it doesn't have any effect it at all. The only working temporary fix is to restart the phone which is not really convenient.
I noticed that my auto brightness will adjust and get bright when I turn on a light but then immediately when I turn the light off the brightness doesn't go back down. I'm guessing it's software?
Having some issue with the screen? For eg. I sometimes see thin horizontal lines, which cut the screen, so the image above and below that line don't match.. Slight vertical misalignment. It shows up for less than a second.. (its an instant only)....
It happens when I'm scrolling in multitasking window, or say panning a picture. One more issue I have. My friend with 920 also has flickering issue with the screen, brightness changes when scrolling. I also have this one.
I installed the 8107 and firmware update.I found that the screen brightness it is now too low on automatic and when I put it on medium or high setting the soft keys stop lighting up, they only worked when in auto or low mode which is too dim for my eyesight.I wasted my money RS:-29,000/-[Lots of problem in phone].First i have to buy my phone and i have to take some time out to tell u all problem.waste of money n time.I am nokia fan statring to till now.
