View 4 RepliesI'm currently unable to access the store while on 3G on my 1020. I have to be on WiFi to even browse the store. I'm pretty sure I'm missing something simple here but I can't work it out.
View 2 Replies View RelatedMy Lumia had to be sent away for a replacement motherboard and now is mostly working much better than prior to its death! However, I have some music I bought from the Microsoft store which now can't play. It states I should check my xbox music subscription but I don't have one and have never needed one. I bought the album and downloaded it, I'm not streaming from xbox music.
I don't want to pay for xbox music when I bought the music. I'm not streaming it so I don't see why I have to pay twice.
Just left my 900 for the 1020. Can only seem to update my social media status in portrait orientation, which I hate. I am a landscape typist. Is there a setting I can change? Or am I stuck this way?

1. Removed phone from windowsphone.com
2. Did a factory reset on phone
3. Told it to do a new phone from scratch not restore backup
4. Went through all the setup screens reconnected to MS account
5. Phone was reset up on windowsphone.com
out of the box my Lumia 920 is not able use my operators data connection. Some days after I started using the phone I got a notification that there is an update to the access point application. Afterwards it worked. But now I had to reset it because I wasn't able to send and receive SMS anymore. So I again have no data connection, but this time the Store is not offering me the update and I can't search for it or install it via the PC.Microsoft wasn't able to help, neither was my operator nor Nokia. Does anybody have an idea what to do? I'm thinking about either changing the operator (to one that has settings on the SIM card) or give away the phone. Punishing the operator for this doesn't sound right to me though.

Initially (20 months ago when I purchased the phone) I was very keen to as you said there would be an imminent update to froyo, after months of waiting and searching forums to only to see dozens of other perplexed by the lack of any update I gave up to my dissappointment and have been waiting to receive an update automatically.I've just read that motorola were issuing upgdate to Android 2.2 nearly a year ago and that 2.3 is even available, however all I've had for the past week when attempting to check for an update is the message "The device is unable to connect to the server. Try again later.".

I've done a search on here and completed soft resets with repining the tile etc, and still doesn't seem to be working ...
What causes the store to stop pushing the updates?
I am using a Lumia 1020 with Black update and my Store is perfectly doing fine showing updates available but recently, or maybe around 2 weeks or so, my Store does not show any updates. I always see many updates from WPCentral but I the store just does not show an available update. And it is tiring to go to the app itself and update it from there when the store can automatically get all available updates and prompt me to download all.
I tried soft reset, restore factory settings, have not tried hard reset because I do not want to. I am almost in a month now that my store does not give me available updates.
I do not get any app update notification from the store. Is this true for all lumia 1020s or just mine?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have an iPhone 4S with 8 Gig memory, 1.1 Gig currently free.  I recently converted to ios 8.1.2. Subsequently, the phone has stopped working on my wireless network, neither receiving or sending email, nor connecting to the internet. The router diagram shows that I am connected via WiFi, but when I try either of these functions, I simply get into a continuous loop.Â
I have already attempted this with and without connection to the iCloud drive, rebooting everything (router, modem, iMac, iPhone). I have one other iPhone (same specs) and an iPad mini, that both work on the network. The iPhone giving me the problems works fine on the Verizon network and on other WiFi networks.Â

I have got Lumia 1020, people can not call me, said I have switch off my phone, it happens from I have got it Amber firmware until now Cyan + GDR1, I don't have much calls, but I know it has happened around 5 times since I bought it about 1 year now, and I realised when people complain they can't reach me. It happen to my friend Lumia 1020 as well but maybe 2 times and 1 year old as well. I am on 2G 99% of the time, can't figure out what is the problem.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have problem with Viber on my 1020.When i exit the app or press home to close it i can't receive calls anymore, ppl say that my status is offline, and even when i open the app my phone is not ringing when my friend is calling me.And then after few seconds or minutes i get info about missed call(s).It's totally messed up because sometimes its ringing but only when Viber is opened i think.

I receive all other people's group texts without problems (I've got a 1020, AT&T), but one friend (android, Verizon) texts the group and I can't see her texts. I see her name come up in a bubble, but can't see the text. However, she can text me pictures in a group text - go figure!

Things I have tried so far:
1. Soft/hard key resets - The nokia logo comes up but I can't get the exclamation mark to appear when I press the keys.
2. Windows Phone Recovery Tool - I click my phone was not detected and get it goes to the trying to find a connection page, but never connects.
3. Nokia software updater for retailer - it detects my phone and downloads, but then when I go to install it says "This device is not supported by nokia software updater for retail"
4. Nokia care suite - product support tool for store - product not supported.
I've had my 1020 for less than a week, and love it, but can't figure out how to post my video recordings to facebook.

The latest text I got reads "Get media content now (174KB)" which is underlined as a link. I tap on the words and then get a message "Getting media content (174KB)". It shows that for a minute or two and then goes back to the first message. Is there something in the "settings" that is causing this problem?

View 9 Replies View RelatedA few months ago, I dropped my phone (the day before my case came in the mail, of course) and the screen went fuzzy, much like an old box tv for several minutes, then rebooted several times before catching up to itself. I'm not sure what on earth happened because of this drop, but since then I have had a huge amount of issues.
First- I cannot complete certain updates on my phone, including some system updates such as for "extras+info" and "Lumia Camera". I get the error code 80070539 on these failed updates, but I do not believe that is the real reason these apps will not update. One method I used to fix this was to make sure I accepted updated terms and conditions for Microsoft, which completed some updates, but I still have several left waiting.
Second- Several apps and processes just do not work at all. Example: settings>applications>photos+camera the screen begins to flip over to the photos+camera menu, then abruptly stops before returning to the applications menu. This exact scenario happens to several other processes throughout the phone, including the calendar app, adding new emails and accounts, etc.
Third- I cannot backup my phone. This is a major problem as I have an abundance of files that I desperately need on my phone, but whenever I attempt to backup my phone, it may make it up to 97% maximum before it says the backup failed. This is the primary reason I haven't attempted a hard reset yet, and I would prefer to avoid doing a hard reset unless we can manage to fix at least the backup issue.
Fourth- My computer will not recognize my phone. I am running a laptop with Windows 8.1, all my drivers are up-to-date, I've uninstalled/reinstalled drivers, etc. but the computer doesn't even recognize that I plug the phone in, even though my phone still charges at a normal rate. I have also tried different computers and different cables. Nothing has proven useful. There is not a place in my computer that I can find a trace of detection of my phone, not under devices/drives/anything.
I will try just about anything that doesn't involve losing all of my data.
