Nov 8, 2015should I add the shortcut to turn of the knock-knock screen on/off feature?
when I carry my new G4 in my pocket, I have a bad habit of keeping my hand in there as well... I just realized that the screen has been turning on and off randomly as a result. that can't be good, right?
I downloaded an app called "Activity Launcher" that allowed me to put a shortcut on my home screen to turn of this feature... but I haven't used it yet because I was wondering if there could be any negative side effects?

Nov 28, 2015One of my favorite new features coming from the Samsung phones is the double tap/knock to turn the screen on and off. However, When I am running the phone with Nova, the screen turns on but I can't turn if off by the double tap. How to make the double tap turn the screen off while running Nova? I go to nova settings, gestures & inputs, double tap but don't see anything to turn the screen off. Hopefully this feature isn't lost using Nova.

Jan 9, 2016I've noticed that there is quite a variance in the time it takes to wake the screen with knock on. Sometimes in a bright Room, it's instant. Other times, from a pocket or dark room, it can take 3 or more seconds.... Of it works at all without having to repeat.
I'm assuming it's a combo of the proximity/light sensor and/or the second screen waking...
Xperia X10 :: Camera Image Filename Numbering?
Nov 27, 2010a couple months ago i finally decided i needed to get a new phone becase it seemed the camera on my old w810i was starting to out - it wouldnt focus very well and the camera button wouldn't snap a picture too reliably anymore. I figured it was probably because i had taken thousands and thousands of images over the time i had the phone since 2006 - i think the last image i took with the 810i was named something like 'dsc06912'. I'm in the US and att is my provider, so i 'upgraded' to an iphone4 but returned it after a couple of weeks primarily because i learned i really like a dedicated camera button. So I switched to the SE Vivaz with no iphone restock fee - nice. I really liked the vivaz hardware size and camera but that symbian os just didn't cut it, especially after using the iphone and the wifi internet experience was pathetic...so after i couple more weeks turned the vivaz in for this xperia x10 - with a restock fee tho.
one of the things thats bugging me about this x10 is that the image filenames keep getting reset each time i download and erase the image files from the phone microsd memory card. in the w810i, even when i did this the filenames still incremented correctly when i took more pictures, thus I new that 'dsc06912' was the 6,912 picture i had taken. with this x10, it starts over at 'dsc_0001' everytime i start taking pictures after downloading the previous batch of images to my computer. (Even the Vivaz continued to increment correctly after i downloaded the images - i guess thats one good thing the nokia folks got right since i believe the w810i used symbian like the vivaz.)i have looked and looked through all the places i can in the x10 android 1.6 os and can find no where to make the filenumbering not re-set.

The majority of the screen is taken up by the green stuff which serves absolutely no purpose and to get to the screen with all the icons I need to click on the BB button. Obviously, this is subjective and maybe people like this green stuff, but can someone tell me if there is a way to bypass this and have the screen with all the icons be my default? Aug 5, 2011I bought a used DROID X from a friend to use only with Wi-Fi, not with Verizon service. It worked fine with only Wi-Fi even though it had no service. I did a Factory Reset to wipe it clean. Now when it comes up it goes to the activation screen and will not go past it, forcing activation to continue. I do not wish to activate the phone with Verizon, only use it with Wi-Fi. Does anyone know how I can get the phone back to working with Wi-Fi only? Is there an Android ROM version I can download from somewhere and load on this phone so that it does not force activation?
