I've noticed that there is quite a variance in the time it takes to wake the screen with knock on. Sometimes in a bright Room, it's instant. Other times, from a pocket or dark room, it can take 3 or more seconds.... Of it works at all without having to repeat.
I'm assuming it's a combo of the proximity/light sensor and/or the second screen waking...
should I add the shortcut to turn of the knock-knock screen on/off feature?
when I carry my new G4 in my pocket, I have a bad habit of keeping my hand in there as well... I just realized that the screen has been turning on and off randomly as a result. that can't be good, right?
I downloaded an app called "Activity Launcher" that allowed me to put a shortcut on my home screen to turn of this feature... but I haven't used it yet because I was wondering if there could be any negative side effects?
One of my favorite new features coming from the Samsung phones is the double tap/knock to turn the screen on and off. However, When I am running the phone with Nova, the screen turns on but I can't turn if off by the double tap. How to make the double tap turn the screen off while running Nova? I go to nova settings, gestures & inputs, double tap but don't see anything to turn the screen off. Hopefully this feature isn't lost using Nova.

View 9 Replies View RelatedSo my contract is up and it's time to upgrade from my Nexus 4, but I'm cheap and don't need leading edge technology, and one of the devices I'm looking at is the G3 (the other is the Nexus 5). Reviews that I've seen have been overwhelmingly positive, but two problems that I've seen mentioned are:
Lag can be an issue. The device is susceptible to over heating.The thing is, the reviews I've read are months old, so, are these still problems for the G3, or have they been fixed?
Also, as I'm used to the PureAndroid™ experience of the Nexus 4, how is the interface of the G3 out of the box? I've had a chance to play around with one at the store, and it seems fine, but I'm not the type who wants to tinker too much.
I have a iphone 3g not 3gs. I am jailbroken and unlocked on 3.1.2. I need to have the unlocked since I use T-Mobile. Lately, the phone has been really buggy and lags a lot. I have restored it a few times already, but after a few months the phone will eventually begin lagging. After some research, people said that it could be a file that was backed up causing the lag. I was thinking about restore to 3.1.2 and not perform a backup of anything. Would this be the best solution? Can I still restore to 3.1.2 using a custom firmware? or Should I just delete all my programs and see if that fixes the issue? Is there any other reasons why the phone would lag?

They are great when i first get them, then within the first 2 months, they pretty much turn into crap. The UI isnt smooth, things take a while to open, apps dont transition to another smoothly, opening texts,, going back and forth between texts and apps arent the best and i constantly get problems to the point i need to do a warranty exchange with tmobile.
Even with a rooted phone i experience the same. Whenever i test out my friends iphone, everything seems to be super quick and fluid, just not customizable and limited to what you can do..What can i do to improve my phone or this is just how these galaxies are?

I have biteSMS version 4.98, and a replacment icon, that changes it to the stock messages icon, when i click on the bitesms icon to open up my messages, it pops up to a white screen (i see header with all the menu and compose button and edit button... but my messages list is blank then about 10-20 seconds later... it pops up and works ok, when i am txting someone, and i get a txt while typing it gets really laggy and slows for about 10 seconds then everything comes through (i hear the sound but get no message for about 10 seconds (sometimes it just crashes right back to home screen)
My xperia neo v not able to play 720 p video.it is very laggy and from starting audio is out of sync.I have tried to all format like avi,mkv,mp4 but same issue.currently i am on 587 firmware and using mx player for play back.i am using sandisk class 6 16 GB SDHC card.i check the card speed read speed is 10 MB.so is their any way to fix this.

I noticed that sometimes (actually, somewhat frequently) the animation to open the app drawer is a little choppy and laggy. And then the actual app drawer (swiping left and right) also has slightly choppy animation as it moves from each page of apps.
This goes away if you press home, and then return back to the app drawer.
I'm having a problem with my E63 phone. I've had this for a while. Text messages are delayed. I tried to change network provider twice. But still nothing happened. I'm worried that the problem is in my phone. Do I have to reprogram it? or I just can restore factory settings?

The iPad seems to get them always immediately, while on my iPhone, sometimes get them a few minutes later, or when I open my device. It can be quiet annoying while having a conversation on my iPhone off course. Can I programm it in that way that I always receive push's on both devices? It differs per moment as well, as sometimes they receive it immediately. As soon as reading it on one, it dissappears on the other, but sometimes, that is delayed as well. It seems like that sometimes the iPhone is "not connected" to Wi-Fi. Is this a battery saving method, and can I switch this on and off somewhere? I would like to receive the notifications immediately on both devices. This is not only for iMessage, but also whatsapp or facebook can be laggy on the iPhone.

I have a iPhone 3G and after the iOS4 update, my phone has been lagging beyond belief. It seems like its freezing when im texting someone and its slow when i'm on my iPod setting. I only have 4 apps on it but around 400 songs on it . Anyone know if I should see an Apple Genius about it?

View 11 Replies View RelatedI am using a G4 H815 and recently I noticed that the Gmail app (yes, official) sometimes only notifies me about new inbox mails a few minutes after they were received, usually 1-3 minutes. I didn't notice this issue until yesterday when I placed my G4 with my Nexus pad side by side and Nexus always notifies me *instantly*, by which I mean if I open a web browser on my computer and compose an email to my gmail account and hit the send button, in less than a second the Nexus will beep, while G4 only tells me this new email after a few minutes.
It is not the notification sound issue, then phone simply sits there without telling me anything until a few minutes have passed. And I also noticed that if I keep my phone alive by using it, then the delay between email incoming and notification is significantly shorter most of the time.
I was able to install app from the Playstore, disregard that it mentions a Samsung phone. This website pretty much advises what settings to use and all. Works in the meanwhile until an official fix is released for all of us G4 owners. Night and day difference. You don't have to use the specific settings in the website, I've found some values myself that have worked well but it's a good starting point.
1.) Enable parameters
2.) Don't forget within the app to 'start service on boot'
3.) Reboot phone and enjoy a better phone experience

(1) the button movements are delayed,
(2) When you go to dial it makes the button noises but does nothing
(3) won't access blackberry app world
(4) battery running out too quick (hardly any use)
When I bought it from Phones4u it was the last Curve 8520 phone in the shop - the woman brought the box out which was already openend and started to set it up. The phone refused to come on, we had to wait 20 minutes for her to charge it - now I thought that all phones came with a short amount of battery.
