I just got a new HTC desire phone and as I learned how to use it I put a lock on, which I have now forgotten! I used the draw pattern to unlock, I am not registered on google yet, is there anyway to unlock the phone?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have what seems to be a resonably common problem with my phone being locked out after too may pattern recognition attempts (My son's playfull fingers methinks).
I have consulted the forums including this one and it seems clear that the Log on fix for the google account using null as the password may work for some but hasn't for me.
I have tried to do a repair on the phone, but using pc companion i cannot get this too work, i cannot get into pc companion normally because the software is asking me to put the phone into Usb connect mode which i can't because i am locked out the phone.
method (that works) to get me phone to being useable again? perhaps i am doing the repair method wrong ( holding the back ket then connecting the usb cable does nothing)
I was used HTC hero Screen Pattern Lock software but my younger brother entered more time wrong patterns therefore my fone is screen locked and gives me just one option is that "Too Many Pattern Attempts!" and also gives me the accessibility to the gmail account but I have a problem to access the internet because i just enable the internet from phone settings thus I unable to access the phone setting and I had also tried on pc to synchronize the phone but there is also in vain ....

Locking your device with that prevents the fingerprint scanner from allowing access for some reason. So today was my first full day with the 6P. It's a truly great device. A whole bunch of times though when I've come to unlock the device I've had to put in my pattern because it won't accept the fingerprint scanner.
The icon at the bottom of the lock screen that should be a fingerprint is just a lock symbol. If I then lock the phone again and reunlock it works as expected. Not sure if this is a software bug or some setting I've got wrong. Can't see a pattern for when it does it though. I've switched 'require pattern on restart' off which has made no difference.
Once you have updated your android from 1.6 to 2.1 how do you put a unlock screen pattern on?

I have disabled the power button to immediately lock the phone. Every time I open my phone I still have to take the extra step to slide to unlock even though the phone is technically not locked. This is just an extra annoying step. Is there any way to skip the slide to unlock step?

I was doing some things around the house with using Google Music All Access to listen to music, went to switch music and I cannot get into my phone, doesn't even register that I'm trying to put in a pattern.

I want my phone so that when I only have to do the pattern.The security options on the phone allow for "None", "Pattern", "Password", and "Pin". It says nothing of the slide to unlock feature and I can not figure out how to turn the thing off.

1) The keypad disappears which means if I want to end the call I need to press 'phone' to get the keypad up again to then end the call.
2) The phone locks while I am talking (but am still able to carry on the conversation). Therefore I need to unlock and then press phone to make sure I've ended a call.
How Do i remove the option of "unlock pattern" once i have enabled it?
