View 5 RepliesI forgot my unlock pattern and I don't have my device in ADM ... But the bootloader is unlocked, so I think I can install any image I want, right? Could this be a way to get into my device? So any solution to unlock my device without doing a hard reset?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have Nexus 5 with Marshmallow 6.0, I forgot the screen pattern and now i can not access it even with my gmail account. I dont want to loose any of my data.
View 1 Replies View Relateddkotoric has realised this is due to using the double tap to sleep function on some launchers. Locking your device with that prevents the fingerprint scanner from allowing access for some reason. So today was my first full day with the 6P. It's a truly great device. A whole bunch of times though when I've come to unlock the device I've had to put in my pattern because it won't accept the fingerprint scanner.
The icon at the bottom of the lock screen that should be a fingerprint is just a lock symbol. If I then lock the phone again and reunlock it works as expected. Not sure if this is a software bug or some setting I've got wrong. Can't see a pattern for when it does it though. I've switched 'require pattern on restart' off which has made no difference.
I have to tap twice the icons as soon as phone is unlocked in order for apps to launch..? A bit annoying for a new phone when I'm in a rush
View 5 Replies View RelatedI forgot my lock pattern, and even though I've tried the wrong pattern about 80 times by now, the "forgot pattern" button won't show up.I know my gmail address and password, so that's not a problem, I just have no way to enter it.When I've tried to lock my phone with a password using the android device manager I got a message saying that a lock request has been sent, but right after that it says "We could not lock your device. Please try again."I've also tried turning it off and on again, hoping that it'd be unlocked after I've entered my pin, but it's still locked. While I know that I might end up having to reset it.

View 1 Replies View RelatedMy N5 receive the Security Patch from Google via OTA. But i use custom recovery (TWRP) and because this, the update don't install.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm sure many of you have heard that when you enter an incorrect pattern/PIN/password, eventually the phone asks for Google account credentials to unlock it. My Nexus 5 on 5.1.0 does not do this. Does yours? If my lock screen is set to PIN, I can enter as many incorrect attempts as I want, it never asks and never stops me. If I have a pattern set it will let me enter 10 incorrect attempts after which it simply stops me from trying for 30s, but it never asks for Google account credentials.
View 2 Replies View RelatedMy Nexus 5 is rooted and in the past OTA updates have always worked just fine. I don't use a custom recovery. However, the November Android security update fails. I was thinking this was because BBS was installed as a system app. After uninstalling that it still doesn't work. The only other thing I use is Adaway, so I reverted back to the original hostfile and also uninstalled BusyBox. Still no dice. Or is it perhaps Marshmallow OTA updates simply won't work if the phone is rooted? How come in the past I've been able to do OTA updates with my phone being rooted?
What can I do to get the update? Does that mean I have to basically lose my user data every month to do an OTA update now and reroot my device
I have a rooted N5 and im running 6.0 build MRA58K and continue to get prompted to install a security update. My question is, is it safe to install this update, will i lose root or have to reroot? If i "unroot" the system with supersu and then install it after, would that work too? Also i would like to update my kernel to the newest version. Im running blu_spark build #30. Would i just reflash the kernel or do i have to jump through hoops by reflashing the rom first? I dont remember how it works.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI installed Foxfi which required that I create a lock screen password before it would work. I assumed that I would be able to remove lock screen security during the times when I don't need to create a hotspot. But now it will not let me disable the security. I even uninstalled foxfi and restarted the phone but the option to disable is still greyed out. What do I need to do?
View -1 Replies View RelatedI set the trace a pattern security system for the phone. Later when trying to do two things at once I got the pattern wrong five times. I then compounded the problem by getting the succeeding attempts wrong as well until the phone locked me out. Like many others it seems I set-up my gmail account without recording the pertinant details, gmail address and password, these are the requirements to unlock the phone. The official X10 user guide is no help on the subject. I have also been to various websites looking for advice and have found no information at all, apart from don't do it of course! I went to a phone shop and their advice was to use PC Companion to reset the phone but of course I need to mount the phone in order that the software sees it. I am resigned to resetting the phone as the solution as I am backed up but even if I reset I will still need the gmail info to enable all of the Google features. I know it is the result of being a dufus but it seems like a bit of a terminal cul-de-sac at the moment.
View 5 Replies View RelatedSo you turn on the X2, you have the green tab that you move to the right to access your home screen. I also have a security lock pattern that I use to unlock access. Is there a way to eliminate the standard unlock feature, so that I don't have to go thru 2 unlock screens to get to the homescreen? On my original Droid, once I programmed the lock pattern in, the standard one went away; not so with this one.
View 1 Replies View Relatedtoday I installed the new android 6.0 factory image, rooted it (used the modified boot.img from the previous build) and installed supersu 2.52 and blu spark kernel. Everything good until i deleted some apps (gmail, webview, youtube and other NON CRITICAL apps, like I ALWAY DO SINCE KITKAT), then rebooted and my phone is stuck at the Google logo, not even the bootanimation shows up.. Tried to reflash the boot.img, wipe cache, wipe data, factory reset but nothing.. The only thing that worked is to reflash the factory image! What am I doing wrong? Happened 2 times in a row so something must be wrong.. Another thing, I can't access TWRP every time, sometimes it skips and boots directly..
View 2 Replies View RelatedI got an apk file of the new Google Now Launcher which is an official launcher by Google and I couldn't find how to hide useless apps which cannot be uninstalled.
Is there a way to hide them? I thought I should post here if the Nexus 5 users know how to do it.
I have a Samsung Galaxy S2 Plus GT-I9105. It's not rooted and I never will.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am extremely satisfied with the stock marshmallow (MRA58N) . The only thing that bothers me is that I need to save my power button (random power off issue when pressing power button, may fail completely in near future). Right now I am using gravity screen app to use my proximity sensor to wake the device. This does not work all the time. I end up using the power button.I know almost all the custom rom out there supports volume rocker to wake. But I dont want to move to custom rom. So the way is to root. So here is my question
1. Will unlock the boot loader
2. Flash StephanMc_Kernel
3. Install twrp
4. Flash super su
5. After this what to do ?
After I unlock the screen, instead of landing in one of the 7 home pages, it shows the telephone screen.
View 1 Replies View RelatedTo unlock the bootloader in order to root the Nexus 6?
I don't really care about custom ROMs, but there are a few root apps I would like to use.
For example, I'd like to enable touch to wake. That would make the phone perfect for me.
But I just do not want to brick the phone.
So I tried to use the Nexus Root Toolkit to sideload the OTA, but now when I try to boot my phone it just shows the white google screen and doesn't do anything. I can use ADB and fastboot and get into the bootloader but I can't flash the factory image because I never checked the "Allow OEM Unlock" tick since I didn't plan on unlocking the bootloader.
View 10 Replies View RelatedMy nexus 5 just turned off and is stuck on the boot animation. I am able to access the bootloader and have already tried to wipe cache and performed factory data reset but the phone is still stuck on the boot animation. I have tried to unlock the bootloader with 1-click-nexus-5-bootloader-unlock as well as CF-Auto-Root-hammerhead-hammerhead-nexus5 tools but after I accept to unlock the bootloader, the phone reboots and gets stuck on the boot animation. The bootloader status remains locked.
View 3 Replies View RelatedSince upgrading to 5.0 I've had this weird issue with the lock screen. When I turn my screen on before I even get a chance to unlock the phone the camera is up. Well not the camera but the camera loading screen is up. It gets stuck like that until I shut the screen off. It doesn't happen if I have a pattern lock or a pin luck. But I just want the slide to unlock fair.
View 5 Replies View RelatedMy phone used to ask me to unlock to start the android operating system when I would turn it on and after it booted up. I did a safe boot and now since then, it no longer asks me to unlock it upon turning the phone on. It just asks me to unlock it after it boots to the main screen.
Which is the norm? And if its normal to ask to unlock when it first turns on, how can I get that to come back? I'm stock/not rooted.
I unlocked and rooted my Neuxs 5 on day one. Right now there seems to be a lot of junk in my phone so I wanna do a factroy reset from the settings menu. Will my phone be locked again and do I have to root it once more?
View 10 Replies View RelatedFirst of all this is minor Bug, but still - BUG!There is phone configuration description:Phone: Xperia X10iFW: android 2.1patterns - default slider + unlock patternBug description1) when phone is locled, press home or power button.2) move slider, to be able to draw pattern.3) start to draw pattern and wait till screen oes black (do not remove your finger). So your pattern is not finished and screen has gone black. Try to remember place of the finger.4) press home or power button again.5) finish unlock pattern from place you was, when screen turned black.6) your phone is unlocked!!!So, if you did not finished your pattern and your screen have gone black you might think, that the phone locked, but this is not true.
