Google Nexus 5 :: Forgot Pattern Lock
Dec 9, 2013I forgot my lock pattern, and even though I've tried the wrong pattern about 80 times by now, the "forgot pattern" button won't show up.I know my gmail address and password, so that's not a problem, I just have no way to enter it.When I've tried to lock my phone with a password using the android device manager I got a message saying that a lock request has been sent, but right after that it says "We could not lock your device. Please try again."I've also tried turning it off and on again, hoping that it'd be unlocked after I've entered my pin, but it's still locked.While I know that I might end up having to reset it.

Nov 20, 2015I have a rooted nexus 5 running android 6.0 MRA58N. After I updated I couldn't set a lock pattern any more. I can access every area in settings accept the lock screen session. When I try to enter the lock screen session it gives me the "unfortunately, settings has stopped message."

This person could easily turn the screen on, flop the screen down twice, use the short cut settings to turn off the Cellular data, preventing me from finding my phone using the device manager on the web.
Isn't this a security issue?

Google Nexus 6 :: Screen Brightness Is At Max On Lockscreen
Dec 18, 2015I wanted to start using android pay so I decided to flash back to a stock rom instead of aosp rom. I flashed my Nexus 6 to 6.0.1, everything went fine and I set my phone back up the way I wanted. Shortly after that I would turn my phone to see my lockscreen and my screen brightness would go to full brightness until I unlocked my phone then it would bring the brightness down to a normal level for light the phone was receiving. Then it would do this no matter if I would in a dark room, in direct sunlight or in a room with average lit lights.
I am on Tmobile so I thought maybe it was the firmware, even though it shouldn't matter. So I flashed back to LYZ28N and I let the phone upgrade to MRA58X and had the same issue.
I have my brightness slider just over the Wifi icon on the toggles in the notification shade. I do have auto brightness turned on . Ambient screen is off.
Now I see that MRA58X is available as a download I will try to flash straight to that.

Nov 13, 2014I flashed yesterday Android Lollipop on my N5 and I found out a "problem" for my use.
I am using some applications like llama, lux and UP which have persistent (or ongoing, I don't know the exact term) notifications (to be not killed I presume). My issue here is that these notifactions are displayed on my lockscreen and it is taking space for nothing.
Before I was using "slidelock", which is a lockscreen app and these persistent notifs were not displayed on the lockscreen but were still on the status bar.
Is there a way to have the same behavior?
I saw this: [URL] .... but it completely removes the notification on the status bar, so I am not sure the app is still running.

Nov 1, 2015I forgot my unlock pattern and I don't have my device in ADM ... But the bootloader is unlocked, so I think I can install any image I want, right? Could this be a way to get into my device? So any solution to unlock my device without doing a hard reset?

Nov 17, 2015I reflashed all the factory images to my Nexus 6P (except userdata), and then restored a TWRP backup of the data partition. This worked, my phone boots up and obviously has my installed apps, etc. But... on the Nexus 6P when you restart the phone you have to enter your lock pattern or PIN. My phone was previously configured with a pattern. It seems the TWRP data backup didn't backup the lock pattern, because it doesn't recognize my pattern.
My fingerprint is recognized, but on the Nexus 6P you still have to enter the lock pattern or PIN when you first reboot. So, I have no way to get into the phone. I tried setting a new lock screen password with Android Device Manager, but it doesn't work. I still get the screen asking for the lock pattern. Is there any way I can get into my phone without blowing away all the data?

Yesterday my phone dialed two people on my recent call log, app tile locations were moved or deleted off my homepage and a random letter email to a random letter email address was sent. Additionally two random downloads titled Servicelogin.html and releases.cfm were downloaded. The strangest thing is that I have a passcode lock on my phone so an accidental **** dial seems unlikely. I was scared I had some insane malware or something so I did a factory data reset and have had my phone off since.

Jul 16, 2014I uninstalled my Swype keyboard and was in the process of reinstalling a new one when my phone screen shut off. Now, on the lock screen, no keyboard pops up when I try to enter my password, only the Google Voice red button, which doesn't actually record anything. It just stays statically in red 'waiting for results.' When I press the keyboard image next to the password input box, the 'Choose Input Method' option shows up, with no options to select from. I've tried clearing the cache as well, to no avail.
How can I get past this seemingly minor problem which has completely locked me out of my phone?

Dec 14, 2015well after few days reading different sites , youtube videos on how unlock the device lockscreen, I tried downloading adb tool , and droid explorer and even sdk tools.My main trouble is that half of my screen wont work and i cant get access to my mobile to unlock it.I tried to get in to recovery mode to wipe out the cache so i could get via usb my folder with my family pictures and so on , but after selecting recovery mode it says no commands available..
So this option is not working, is it cuz my usb don't have the settings to get into the folders or what. The phone is not rooted , i never enable anything so i guess that debugging i did read some post wont work with that adb commands from cmd..

Jun 5, 2014I've replaced Hangouts with Textra. Seems to be a good choice. Only thing that bugs me is the notifications give you no information other than you've received a text. You have to unlock the phone then open Textra and find the message. It's a bit ordinary.
I tried Slidelock and NiLS but wasn't too fussed on either, though maybe I didn't set them up properly. NiLS was particularly annoying, with the notifications interfering with the lock screen operation. Slidelock was just plain buggy.
