Aug 5, 2011I bought a used DROID X from a friend to use only with Wi-Fi, not with Verizon service. It worked fine with only Wi-Fi even though it had no service. I did a Factory Reset to wipe it clean. Now when it comes up it goes to the activation screen and will not go past it, forcing activation to continue. I do not wish to activate the phone with Verizon, only use it with Wi-Fi. Does anyone know how I can get the phone back to working with Wi-Fi only? Is there an Android ROM version I can download from somewhere and load on this phone so that it does not force activation?

After sliding the camera button and getting into the camera, simply pressing the button takes you right into the phone without ever having to enter your password. This is a major problem! Anyone know how to deactivate that camera feature or simply a way to prevent access to my phone?

Jan 2, 2016I don't miss a lot of things about my moto x, but I do miss that you could access the home screen by just pressing the power/side button, so long it was within the time frame that the screen automatically locked. Is there a way to do that on the galaxy s6? I hate to have to swipe the lock screen every time, if I need to access the phone again within the period that the screen does not automatically lock.

Phone's language is not English, but I guess it's some phone lock or so. Tried all codes I've ever used and none of them works, I feel really dumb, because I don't even remember myself enabling such a codes, because I've always liked phones to boot up fast, not even using PIN. So I'd like to know how can I get rid of this code. Of course, I'm trying to find original manual and papers from when i bought this phone(no luck yet), but as warranty is over already, I don't think that it's gonna be for free, nor cheap.

Jun 30, 2012I am having an issue where i receive the standard unlock screen even though I have a password configured. If I use the slide menu I am never prompted for my password. There are also times when the normal unlock screen will flash up and then go straight to my password.
Current configuration: PIN, lock screen after 5 sec, lock immediatly on power press.
This only happens when I allow the screen to go to sleep on it's own. If i press the power button I am not seeing the issue.

Has anyone else experienced this? More importantly is there a way of rectifying it? I have tried re-booting the phone to no avail.

Sep 6, 2014I put my phone in recovery mode because I wanted to try to free up space. It seems that Activation Lock is now broken?????????/ How? It does not prompt me to enter a previous persons apple id and password to activate. It just automatically activates itself. I have Find My Iphone turned on and signed in with my apple id but each time i "erase content and settings" it does not prompt me for my apple id and password to activate. What did I do?

Jun 5, 2014I recently had my iphone 5s stolen and I would like to know if the thief will be able to do anything at all to it, as I had IOS 7 and Find my iPhone installed. I've given up hope of locating it as it's been turned off (was stolen this morning, but I had full battery as I left home). I know that there's iPhone hacking through stuff like jailbreaking, and I just want to know if anything like that will be able to deal with the activation lock. Would be a slight comfort to know if the jerk won't be able to benefit from it.

Jul 14, 2014I just upgraded from the HTC DNA to the M8, one thing I don't like and can't figure out if there is a workaround, on the DNA the lock screen would display all of my notifications (text, email, calendar) right on the lock screen so I could screen on and immediately see.
On the M8, with them turned on, it displays one line with all notifications hidden, and you need to swipe down to be able to see all of the notifications... which to me doesn't seem to make it any more useful than the notification bar that's already there.
Is there a way to make this notification area on the lock screen permanently expanded? The space below seems completely unused so I don't understand why you need to swipe down to expand in the first place.
