Jul 4, 2012I just switched from an iPhone 4 to a Galaxy S3 and now no one who has an iPhone can send me an SMS because their phones are trying to send the message through iMessage. I have tried every solution on the web and none have worked. My iPhone isn't registered in my list of products on apple.com any more and I can't go around and tell 50 people to disable iMessage and use regular SMS because I'm no longer using my iPhone.

For normal use i want to use 2G network and in special cases where i need speed I want to use 3G network. Jul 25, 2011If Wifi drops or I turn it off, the remaining icons go white, and then if you go to settings, about phone, status, the phone states UMTS and then switches to HSPA, and it states on network "Connecting, or Disconnected" A power Cycle will sometimes help. If I turn wifi back on, I have a Blue wifi, white H+, and a Blue Network Signal strength.

Oct 17, 2015So just in the last few days my phone has started having some issues. I got a Powerbot wireless charger(PB1020) about the same time I got my phone at release. It's worked fine , and still does as far as I know. But know, after my phone is fully charged, when I remove it from the charger it's pretty warm(this is a new development, not really had it get very warn on the wireless charger before) and then it begins to connect and disconnect from the wifi repeatedly. I'm talking like every second it switches. I keep seeing people saying to turn off Smart Network Switch, but I did that the second day I had my phone, and it's still off, so obviously its something else.

Aug 11, 2011The first indication of something wrong was the issue where my Droid 3 began connecting to my network extender only with 1x. But, the problem was worse than that, because it would then connect to a distant, weak tower for 3G. It would lose signal, then switch back to the network extender, where it would lose 3G once again and fall back to 1x. (How do I know it was swapping to a distant tower?the network extender team diagnosed it while I was on a phone call with them and told me they were seeing it do it live on their screens).
They "did something" (I don't know know what that something was), and it seemed to clear up for a while.Then, it came back. Another call to their network extender group, and they "upped the power" of the extender and the problem went away... for two weeks.Today, it started again. Only this time, it was doing the same behavior between two *actual* cell towers at work! The network extender wasn't in the mix, this time.My original Droid, Droid 2 Global, my son's Droid X and my wife's iPhone 4 all have NO problem with the extender (nor any other aspect of the service). This Droid 3 has failed in this manner three times, now.What's up, Moto? Can anything else fail with this phone? Camera blows, keys repeat, social networking is flaky, and apparently it has issues maintaining 3G in some situations. What a miserable experience.

Aug 11, 2011Since the recent update to Market I lose my data connection every time I go to "My Apps" to check for updates. The H+, up/down arrows and signal bars on the notification bar change color from blue-green to black and the data connection is broken. Other apps say "no network connection." Cycling power corrects. Have not experienced this problem with WiFi (only one attempt to date).

Sep 7, 2011I prefer to hide my wireless SSID but when I do this my android devices don't see the network. Even if I am already connected with my Xoom then switch to hidden SSID mode the Xoom disconnects. Same for my HTC Thunderbolt. My network is shown in the list of remembered networks as out of range. When in hidden mode. This does not affect my laptops.
They stay connected if I switch to hidden mode and they have a setting to connect to hidden networks that have previously been configured. I cannot find a setting for hidden network support on either android device. Hiding the SSID is not a new concept. Is this not supported in the android network stack? I have a strong random PW on my wifi so I am not terribly worried about it but I would be nice to have the option.

Aug 10, 2015My girlfriend is coming up as something like 20 contacts in the Contacts app on my Samsung S5 with Android 5.0. Even if I link her contacts together, they just get automatically created again. Same think if I delete them. She has several email addresses and we share several apps together such as traffic apps, Facebook, WhatsAPP Skype, etc etc. There is a separate conact for each one. I've tried setting the "Contact to Show" setting to Device (only) but they all still show up so they must be "Device" contacts. I've also got the Contact Setting option checked for "Show only contacts with phone". Even then all her email only and app only contacts show up.

Jan 6, 2012I purchased it new. It worked fine for a week or so, then I switched to another network operator. When I try to connect automatically it says "Registered on network" but there is no signal. I changed 3 sim cards so far. Still the same. When I put the sim card in another phone that also works, the other phone manages to find the signal. I put back the sim card in my Xperia, it works fine until for some reason I have no signal and the circle continues. I love my phone, I want it to work, with this provider. I am very annoyed. The network provider doesn't know what could it be, they blame the phone. But the phone works with other providers with no problem so I assume it is something else.I did a factory settings restore, I checked for updates.

May 9, 2012I have an iPhone 4s (Verizon). I had recently purchased what was described as an OEM screen plus LCD after I had cracked my factory screen. After replacing the screen and LCD such features as the side volume controls, vibrate switch, and proximity switch (dimming after accepting a call) have stopped working. I double checked to see that all of the connectors were pushed on correctly and they were. Is it possible this may not be an OEM screen and causing the problem or is there a piece of the hardware that I may have damaged that controls all of these functions (i.e. motherboard)?

Apr 9, 2011So of course there's switch mode from work and "play". I have this issue where when I switch from one the theme changes and if I switch back the theme doesn't change. I thought this would be fix, but I guess I was the only one with this issue. Just updated to .54. I'm of course not going to do anything about it I'll just work with it.
