LG :: Eve Rogers Wireless Can Messaging Application Be Removed?
Jan 1, 2010
On the LG Eve I have an icon for text messaging that appears on the lower bar on the home screen. It is there with contacts, dialer, etc. I have downloaded another text messaging application (Handscent SMS), that shows me how many new messages I have and has more functionality than the application that came with the phone.
So now I have two text messaging apps.Does anyone know if it is possible to remove the application that came with the phone? Or at least disable it? When I get a text message, I get notifications from both applications and I don't want that.
I am currently running OS 7.0 bundle 1328 on a Torch 9810, according to Rogers Wireless this is the most up-to-date BlackBerry OS offered on their network. I have run the update protocol from the Desktop software and it also tells me my device is up-to-date. I called Rogers and asked why I could not update to 7.1 for my BlackBerry and was told that RIM has not yet released it to them. So my question, to whoever might be able to answer it, is this correct, why hasn't RIM released 7.1 to Rogers(a Canadian company like RIM) and when will I be able to enjoy the latest update for my BlackBerry?
Our son is presently looking at this phone here in Western Canada.Basic needs:
1. clarity of voice' 2. loud speaker phone 3. user friendly 4. used as reliable phone and no texting 5. no e-mail
Wants a quality phone without bells and whistles that has good reception and very good quality speaker phone. Not interested in texting, music, e-mails.Perhaps occasional camera use.He last used one of our Krazr K1 phones which we now need and he wants a phone that is similar and this one was suggested.Experienced user comments appreciated, as no one in the family has ever used an LG before.(BTW, we are not saying all 'LG' models are the same...we are simply saying that we are unfamiliar with them, unlike our longevity in use of Motos)Would this phone be a comparable to the Krzr K1...better or? He needs a GSM phone.
today I picked up a rough looking Bold 9000 and swapped in my spare parts onto it. The catch is, it was a Bell phone. I already unlocked it and it states it is on rogers network now. I don't want the Bell logo/wallpapers to load upon startup, so I though by installing FW Version 5.0.1626 from the blackberry Rogers download page it would fix it.The software update just finished(about 10-15 min) and I see a bell background and bell startup logo. Should the Rogers FW change this over? or are the bell wallpapers/startup logo's programmed into the phone itself and NOT the FW?I don't want to remove the Logo completely, I just rather have it say ROGERS like my old BB and have all the rogers software/configuration.
Well I have E72 mobile phone, after updating its software, the "Chat" applciation (found in Application) was removed for no reason ! Although previously it was available and I was using it frequently.I searched for it in the "Ovi store" but I did not find it. So I really appreciate if anyone could help me in solving that issue since I don't want to use other chat app's.
I have a N900 and know the Ovi software does not work with it. I am trying to find a PC Messaging Application which I can use to type and send SMS from the PC, and which would help me back up my SMS from the N900 to the PC. Does anyone know of any such applications?
I am a brand new X6 user, I am not event very familiar with Symbian S60 OS. I recently purchased the application known as ThreadedSMS because I like to see my text messages threaded as in conversation form. After I installed it, the original messaging application still pops up notifications in addition to ThreadedSMS. Also when I click on a contact and wish to send a text message, it uses the original messaging application instead of Threaded SMS.Is there a way to set the OS's default messaging application to be Threaded SMS so that I don't get double the notifications of incoming text messages, and so when I try to send a text message via contacts it doesnt pull up the original SMS application. Also, does anyone know a more finger friendly Contact Manager application (similar to iPhone )?
After looking over upgrade options, he settled on a Vivaz. We have AT&T's Family Plan. He proceeded to start using the built-in Instant Messaging app, which I endorsed because it had the AOL Instant Messenger logo right in it. I assumed that the Instant Messenger use would use his Internet Data Plan. Surprise when I got the first month's bill and AT&T saw fit to route those messages out their SMS system and hit me with close to $40 in "extra TXT" fees. I'm going to ruin one of their employee's day tomorrow. But that's not why I'm here. I deleted that infernal IM app and have found eBuddy, with which I am familiar. I have downloaded it to the Vivaz and it runs, but when it starts is asks for permission to use the Internet, and then it sits there and says "installing". WHen I click "Cancel", I am told: "Your Internet settings must be activated for Java applications, or try again later. Check your phone manual or www.ebuddy.com on how to do this." Well, neither place mentions anything about this. How can I get this application to run?
This is a major harassment for me because I send and recieve a lot of email and SMS on my phone. When I open the Mail app, I get no responce for 10+ seconds, then the app "opens" but will not respond for atleast 20 seconds, often with the titlebar still showing my today screen. This also happens when I'm in a message/conversation and just hit "ok" to go back to the list of messages/conversations, it's atleast 30 seconds before I can select anything. Anyone know what's wrong? I only have 6-7 conversations on the page and 10 or less emails on that page. Rebooting the phone only makes a minor difference in speed. Have not hard-reset because I dont want to lose all my contacts, apps, etc.
Recently I've upgraded my SE Xperia mini pro to Android Icecream Sandwich 4.0.After upgrading I'm facing issue with Inbuilt Messaging application. It immediately clears all my messages, thereafter all messages appears back some time later .Even problem appearing in 3rd Party - PANSI Messaging application too.I've grouped my messages in folders other than to keep all in Inbox. This immediately removes all messages from folders and sits all in INBOX which is very time consuming for grouping again n again.
I have reported this so many times to BB that I am starting to think they don't really have anyone out there fixing these things as we have had at least one update since the first report and its still happening. My device freezes up and eventually comes back with the following message:Uncaught exception: Application net-rim-bb-messaging-app (148) is not responding: process terminated. Then control is returned to the device. Its now starting to freeze up when I turn the device on first thing in the morning, though here it doesn't normally come up with the message but after about 5 mins will give me access to the device.
I have this message: The application Messaging (process com.sonyericsson.conversations) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again. And a button "Force close" This message appears when I open my Messaging icon, when I open new incoming message and when I try to send a message. At the moment I can receive, but can't send any messages at all. This problem just happened on its own. Everything was fine. I was sending messages to my friends with Happy New Year stuff and then bam!I have Xperia X10 mini pro with Android 2.1?
i lost all my messages as suddenly my sony ericsson conversation application got failed. It asked me to force close it but when it did that it asked me to do it again and again. so i switched off my mobile and when i turned it on all my messages were gone?
Hi, I'm new here! Tried to set a new e-mail on my Curve 9300 and get a message saying "Unable to open email setup application-contact your wireless service provider". Not sure what this is. do I contact Orange or BB?
I needed to setup a secondary email addy with RogersWireless yesterday and while I was there I got the bright idea to change my password for my primary account. This totally screwed my BB (no more email being received) sent me an email saying I needed to verify my password.tried to go into Setup to access my email settings..my BB freezes and I have to shut it down and re-start.Next bright idea...go to Messages Options then try to access email settings that way...message comes up and says "Unable to open email setup application. Contact your wireless service provider."Now I'm not saying I don't enjoy spending an afternoon chatting with Rogers but is there anyway to fix this without having to waste an afternoon?
I am using Nokia Maps 3.03 on my E71 (language: German) plus Nokia Map Loader 3.0, but I am experiencing several problems: Nokia Maps goes online via Internet for a few seconds (which costs me) although I set it to my Wireless connection. How can I switch that off? Every time I load a new map (and voices) via Map Loader and then start the software on my E71, it tells me that the maps are out-dated and I need to delete them. But then I do not see any maps in the software, and also the load of the voice is gone.
I just picked up a MiFi 4G device and I carry it at all times. However since it has a cap on data per month I want it to be secondary to several other unlimited WiFi networks such as my office WiFi, home WiFi, free WiFi hotspots, etc. Is there any work around to make the MiFi wireless (or any permanent wireless network) 2nd to all other recognized networks? This is the ideal set-up for my iPhone 4 and iPad 2 WiFi. I don't want to have to turn the MiFi on and off constantly, I want it on in the background as a seamless secondary option. I appreciate any insight and find it odd that you cannot prioritize networks. Meaning if I "forgot this network" and start over will the 1st joined or most recent joined become primary when there are multiple networks available?
I have an unusual issue I would like some assistance on since I just got a blackberry, I have the Curve 2 8530. I use Total Call Blocking with my carrier so that when I call anyone my number is automatically blocked / restricted. Therefore, in my contact list, I have my friends or family contacts listed with the *82 in front of the number to unblock for those people. This works fine for phone calls.
However, on Text Messaging / Picture Messaging, the *82 will cause these messages to fail. I am used to LG phones, you have the ability to edit the number while creating a message, before your send one of these messages. The problem I am having is when I send a Text Message / Picture Message it appears from the blackberry as only the 10 digit number (even though the contact has *82 in front of it)...and the message shows it is sent (with the check mark) but it NEVER received.
Wow, do I ever need help! I blindly bought an unlocked N72 on a Canadian Webstore (Mobile604) and I simply can't get the phone to receive and send emails. I can't get the phone to connect to Rogers' 3G network either. The phone is a E72-1 RM530. I'm a newbie and never owned a Nokia phone so I'm 100 per cent sure the issue is me, not the phone.
Has anyone successfully accomplished what I'm trying to?How to set-up Ovi Mail, the Wizard took me through the steps, created my Inbox, downloaded my messages but I can't receive nor send from that point on. I tried to add other addresses (Hotmail and Mac Me) with same issue. Thanks in advance, I WANT to love this phone and right now, I'm second-guessing my choice.
Can anyone assist me in this? I have a co-worker who just got back from Hong Kong with this hand set and wants to use it on my pay go card with the unlimited browsing option.. Could someone be so kind as to tell me the settings? and how to input them on the phone?
I read the FAQ posted above regarding how to upgrade the OS on a phone. Just wanted to double check with you all before I potentially brick my phone? I purchased an unlocked bold 9900 that has the rogers software on it. I am a Tmobile customer and would like to replace the software with Tmobile's 9900 software. Has anyone done this - just want to make sure that there are no hardware differences between the phones such that the Tmobile software won't work.
I have installed the Bell 5.0 OS on my Rogers bold. Everything went pretty well for a week, and I loved this new OS. But this morning, my BB data stopped to work (email, browser etc.) and on the network status screen, it said that it was not connected to BIS. I connected to my Wifi network, and the BIS connection was back (using wifi). I closed Wifi, called Rogers, they sent a new config to my BB, and everything worked for a minute. Then it then stopped again. Suspecting that my OS was a bit messy, I wiped my device and installed 5.0 from scratch. Still no connection to BIS. So I wiped again and installed the latest Official OS from Rogers. Everything was fine. I then upgraded to 5.0 and lost connectivity to BIS again Any idea on what is going on? Anyone is having trouble have their BB connect to BIS?
if there is a way of name id to work on rogers network in toronto canada?
I have xperia x10 but it only shows the number on the screeen not the name id unless I have saved that no in my contact. When I change the sim to my ericsson w705 or w790, it always shows the name id with number?
Could ericsson try to solve this issue in their new update because if you are already used to of seeing the name id then it is very weird to see only the number.
