app? It shows up on my emails, notes, but not on my text messages.
Am I missing something?

BB Curve 8500 :: Text Messaging / Picture Messaging
Jan 30, 2010I have an unusual issue I would like some assistance on since I just got a blackberry, I have the Curve 2 8530. I use Total Call Blocking with my carrier so that when I call anyone my number is automatically blocked / restricted. Therefore, in my contact list, I have my friends or family contacts listed with the *82 in front of the number to unblock for those people. This works fine for phone calls.
However, on Text Messaging / Picture Messaging, the *82 will cause these messages to fail. I am used to LG phones, you have the ability to edit the number while creating a message, before your send one of these messages. The problem I am having is when I send a Text Message / Picture Message it appears from the blackberry as only the 10 digit number (even though the contact has *82 in front of it)...and the message shows it is sent (with the check mark) but it NEVER received.

Jun 15, 2012I started using my new iphone 4s yesterday but can not send any text messages to my contacts. I mannaged to get an iMessage to another iphone user but normal text messages to anyone who is not using iMessage won't go through. I have tried switching the phone off, taking out the sim, and a few other things in settings, but so far nothing has worked. Should the numbers in my contacts all include country code perhaps? I am in Australia.

I recently purchased the application known as ThreadedSMS because I like to see my text messages threaded as in conversation form. After I installed it, the original messaging application still pops up notifications in addition to ThreadedSMS. Also when I click on a contact and wish to send a text message, it uses the original messaging application instead of Threaded SMS.Is there a way to set the OS's default messaging application to be Threaded SMS so that I don't get double the notifications of incoming text messages, and so when I try to send a text message via contacts it doesnt pull up the original SMS application.Also, does anyone know a more finger friendly Contact Manager application (similar to iPhone )?

It is there with contacts, dialer, etc. I have downloaded another text messaging application (Handscent SMS), that shows me how many new messages I have and has more functionality than the application that came with the phone.
So now I have two text messaging apps.Does anyone know if it is possible to remove the application that came with the phone? Or at least disable it? When I get a text message, I get notifications from both applications and I don't want that.

He proceeded to start using the built-in Instant Messaging app, which I endorsed because it had the AOL Instant Messenger logo right in it. I assumed that the Instant Messenger use would use his Internet Data Plan. Surprise when I got the first month's bill and AT&T saw fit to route those messages out their SMS system and hit me with close to $40 in "extra TXT" fees. I'm going to ruin one of their employee's day tomorrow. But that's not why I'm here. I deleted that infernal IM app and have found eBuddy, with which I am familiar. I have downloaded it to the Vivaz and it runs, but when it starts is asks for permission to use the Internet, and then it sits there and says "installing". WHen I click "Cancel", I am told: "Your Internet settings must be activated for Java applications, or try again later. Check your phone manual or www.ebuddy.com on how to do this." Well, neither place mentions anything about this. How can I get this application to run?

Jun 29, 2010So I used to have that 1500 text messaging plan for $8.99 with the feature code TMS4 applied to my FAN account then I ended up switching to an unlimited plan before I got my iPhone 4. I want to now go back to that special plan but I called AT&T and they told me I had been grandfathered in on that plan previously before I switched to the unlimited plan and they wouldn't add it back on for me now. My question is did anyone that still had that texting plan get to keep it when they switched to their iPhone 4 or has anyone tried adding that plan to their current/new AT&T plan? If anyone is interested in helping me out by trying to add it to their plan now all you had to do was call 611 on your phone and ask the AT&T rep to add the TMS4 text messaging plan to your existing FAN account.

May 7, 2012My text messaging has stopped showing the name of the recipient / sender, instead on the list screen I see the phone number, but for some reason the international +1 has been inserted in front. The +1 is not in my contacts, hence the phone no longer recognises the number as a specific person. Jun 28, 2010This is a major harassment for me because I send and recieve a lot of email and SMS on my phone. When I open the Mail app, I get no responce for 10+ seconds, then the app "opens" but will not respond for atleast 20 seconds, often with the titlebar still showing my today screen. This also happens when I'm in a message/conversation and just hit "ok" to go back to the list of messages/conversations, it's atleast 30 seconds before I can select anything. Anyone know what's wrong? I only have 6-7 conversations on the page and 10 or less emails on that page. Rebooting the phone only makes a minor difference in speed. Have not hard-reset because I dont want to lose all my contacts, apps, etc.

Jan 27, 2012Recently I've upgraded my SE Xperia mini pro to Android Icecream Sandwich 4.0.After upgrading I'm facing issue with Inbuilt Messaging application.It immediately clears all my messages, thereafter all messages appears back some time later .Even problem appearing in 3rd Party - PANSI Messaging application too.I've grouped my messages in folders other than to keep all in Inbox.This immediately removes all messages from folders and sits all in INBOX which is very time consuming for grouping again n again.
