LG :: BL40 New Chocolate Upgrades / GPS / Home Network
Apr 14, 2010
Has there been an upgrade at all for the software? I am still using Google Maps v2.3.2 and the Google website still says this is up to date.Google Maps did work once, with respect to the My Location feature. Now it just sits there trying to find my location and states its waiting for the GPS.Home Network doesn't work as it will constantly try to load but cannot find the other computers in my network. It will connect via Wi-Fi no problem though. It seems as if LG made this phone, but never did anything to support it. Am I the only person who feels this way about the phone? If it's of any relevance: I am on Telus Mobility in Ontario, Canada.
I have a vx8700 and i've tried to get bitpim to see the phone.Previously a couple of years ago before I reimaged my machine I had this working. I was able to access the file system and change my ringtone and what not. Now I can't get it to work.So I've tried to use the blue tooth method but when I move the vcf files over it gives me the finger saying the file is invalid...which it shouldn't be as i works fine on the shine. So anyways - whats the best way to move this information over from the old phone to the new one?
I purchased a used LG BL40 that's locked on the Telus (Canada) network and need to unlock it preferably without having to pay a third-party service. I've tried Google-ing and can't seem to find any recourse.
I can't seem to connect to network when I'm not at home (so can't see incoming emails, updated facebook, new tweets, etc.) It still says GSM or EDGE with a few bars so it looks like I have internet but it's just not transmitting. Don't know if this is related but this seems to have happened right after I did a backup and connected the BB to the computer and desktop manager and did the update. Should I undo this? How would I do that? Or is it some other type of troubleshooting?
I recently updated to ios 5.1 and can no longer access my home network. It shows up and I am putting in the correct password to join, but I am getting the unable to join network pop up. Last evening I upgraded the firmware on the Cisco router and this morning reset the network settings again on the phone as well as the "all settings" reset. I tried a full restore as well, and still no luck. Also I am now unable to get into iTunes from the phone as well. I know it's not the network due to my iPad as well as my wifes iPhone and her iPad, that have not been upgraded to a new OS, work fine.
I just got a replacement iphone 4s and am having trouble connecting to my home network. When I type in my password it says it cannot connect to the network. Before I got my replacement, my previous 4s was able to connect to the same network.
Orange required me to install their Router - a Netgear DGN 1000. When trying to connect my Blackberry to the network, it finds my Home Network but then tells me that the Router supports Wi-Fi Protected Setup. To connect using a PIN (which my Blackberry will generate, click Next. I click next and the mobile generates an 8 digit number with the message "Enter this PIN into your wireless router."I cannot find a way to enter a PIN into the Netgear Router and all attempts to get help from Netgear have failed to solve the problem. The latest advice from Netgear was that I should contact Blackberry.Incidentally, the Wireless Printer and the Wireless Laptop both work inconjunction with the Router, as does the PC which is hard wired to the Router.

Since yesterday (Sunday 18 October) my Z2 hasn't been able to connect to my home network. I've tried resetting the router, rebooted it, rebooted the phone, forgot the network and reconnected. Nothing works. My mobile network still works though. Also, my Vaio laptop and my girlfriend's iPhone don't have any problems connecting to the network.
I'm having problems running videos on a new Z5 over my home network.
The following WON'T play:
Home movies with .avi extensions made on a Canon camera Downloaded movie with .avi extension Several home movies with .wmv extension recorded by an Android phone Home movie with .mp4 extension recorded by an Android phone Commercial movie with .VOB extension TV recording in a TS format
The following WILL play
-Home movie with .3gp extension recorded by an Android phone -A downloaded film with .avi will not play via the home network but when physically copied to the Z5 it plays ok. Only tried with one movie.
There seems to be a mixture of instances as illustrated above. I also did a test movie on the Z5 then copied it to the network computer which did play on the Z5 via the home network.
My iPhone 4s keeps switching between wifi and 3G while I'm on my home network. Also I am not out of range, I'm within 15 feet of the router. Any suggestions would be great. I've done resets on both my device and router, still doing the same thing. I'm curious to know if any else is experiencing the same problem on there 4s's.
My home network using a password. When I come into the house, my iPhone3 used to connect automatically. I had a problem with my network and had to reset it. Now, when my iPhone goes to sleep, I lose the connection to my WiFi and have to re-enter my password.
I can not connect my new iPhone 4S to my home WiFi network, whereas other networks are OK. A possbile explanation - the password contains 26 characters, and I haven't tracked don't how to change that password.
I currently have the blackberry bold 9700 for tmobile.I can connect to my home network but i cant use apps such as the facebook app or the IM+ app or any social networking apps of that sort.Whenever i do try, it says you need a mobile carrier internet connection or a wifi connection. I have a white signal(showing im connected) to my home network but nothing will work.
I still have to wait for full-functionality on my X10 when the service provider gets updated to a new contract in a few weeks. However, I cant get it to connect to my home wi-fi network. It recognises the network and remembers it. The Network Key is good. Ive tried both with and without 'data traffic enabled', and of course the phones Wi-Fi is turned on- Ive tried that both through the main screen and through the Wi-Fi Settings screen.I got a shock bill last week because the phone was using dial-up connection instead of Wi-Fi without me realising it!Also, how can I ensure it chooses unsecured or 'FreeZones' when on the move over dial-up? I want to be able to use the Navigation function, but worry about the phone being connected too much, even with the internet bundle I am subscribing to.
I've recently bought a HTC Incredible S from my service provider and was very anxious to test it out. However, after the 8 hours of charging, I turned on my new phone expecting to connect to my home network and start setting up my phone. Problem is, I can't seem to detect my home network. My laptop, my brother's laptop, my ipod touch, my family member's phones are all able to detect and surf with my home wireless network without any problems so why is it the Incredible S can't even detect the network? I am able to detect wireless networks from the units all around me, unfortunately they're all locked so i'm unable to test if connecting was possible but I'm unable to detect my own.
Whether I'm on my mobile device or on another computer (web interface), I can't browse anything from my PC with Zumocast from the Internet. When I am in my house and on my home network I have no issues, the PC shows as online and I can use whatever device I want to browse music, videos, files, etc. I am using McAfee AV and tried disabling the firewall but this didn't make a difference. Zumocast is permissioned in the program anyway for Internet access. This is actually a recent phenomenon, I used to have no issues with accessing Zumocast from outside my home network and over the Internet before, but at some point (not sure why) it started giving my the "PC Offline" message.
Our new iPhones keep dropping the home network connection. The signal icon is there and settings shows we're connected but we need to turn Wi-Fi off and on to re-establish a connection.
I have a simple need: copy files from a shared folder on a PC to a smartphone over a wireless lan. The copy command should be executed by the smartphone, no need to bother whoever is using the PC.
We chose N97 Mini because it looked like a very good device for our company needs and was in bundle with a communication plan, so choice was limited.
Before giving my 'go' I checked online and saw on several sites that N97 mini has UPnP, Nokia site made no statement at all about it. Knowing N95 had it too i made no further inquires about that. Big mistake.
Now comes out that N97 mini doesn't support UPnP. The reason for it is beyond my imagination. Am quite **bleep** actually.
So now I would like to ask Nokia support: is there a way to copy files from a PC over wifi on this cool 2010 piece of. hardware?
I can browse the web with it and sure, I could upload the files on our web server and then download them. But for some reason I have yet to understand the .xls files get corrupted and the 'impossible to open the document' error appears (without further info). Also selecting where to save documents each time is a pain. And of course the absurdity of sending our files over to Texas (that's where we have our servers) and then back to Europe is astonishing considering we want the files from a PC a few meters away!!!
So, again: how can I copy my files (over wifi)? WIll Nokia support UPnP for the N97 mini in the future? WIll my trust in Nokia be restored?
My 8900 wont seem to find my home wireless network (linksys wireless-G)I tried changing the channel but it didn't make a difference. There's no cell service where I live and I rely on wi-fi for BB data and voip calls!
1. so storm 2 has wifi does this mean i can connect to my home network and various other hotspots internet browsing using wifi download etc.... at the same 29.99$ verizon rate and how much do you actually use it?
2. does this also mean i still need something else to give my laptop internet while out on the road
3. is there something out right now that will allow storm 2 to act as a hotspot for my laptop or other devices
When I'm trying to connect to my home network with wifi with correct username and passwords. Its showing me connecting and then it is getting disconnected automatically after connected.
I got my x10 mini pro today but cannot get my phone to work with my home network. It's says it's connected but when I try to use the browser, facebook etc., it won't load pages (these are only working through mobile internet).
