I purchased the n900 and really loved the phone, but had to send it back because of the constant reboot problem. I want to get the phone again, but only when the problem has been properly fixed by Nokia.Does anyone know if the latest firmware update (PR1.1) has fixed this problem? One other question. Is it possible to turn the phone completly silent and only have the vibrate function on? I turned the phone profile to silent and turned the volume down on everything, but it was still making noises when the screen was pressed.
View 6 Replies View RelatedMy wife just a 9650 through VZW. This morning it starting doing the constant reboot thing. I know how to fix it (since her old Curve would crash all the time), but anybody have ideas on what would cause this? She doesn't have many 3rd party apps (Quickpull, Buzzme, Google Maps), so I can't imagine it would be related to low memory. Is daily scheduled quickpull perhaps overkill on this phone? I'd like to do to avoid it crashing again, since I'm the official "phone fixer/OS reinstaller guy".

The phone constantly resets when trying to connect to unknown networks that require a password. It took me ages to figure out what was causing it and it's a real pain. You could just be walking down the street and it'll try to connect to a WiFi network that will kick off this constant resetting. You have about a second to turn WiFi off, before the process starts again.
I mention EE as they have their own software variant that enables WiFi calling in the UK, not sure if that's relevant?
A few hours ago I noticed that I had no signal on my phone (which is strange because I usually have good signal at work), and on closer inspection I could see the NFC symbol appearing/disappearing constantly in quick succession. After a few mins my phone then rebooted itself, and since then its been booting up, the NFC symbol does its flashing on/off for a few mins, then the phone resets again and the cycle continues!
View 6 Replies View RelatedI can't seem to find this exact problem, so bear with me if I missed it. My problem is that when I did a bettery pull a couple of days ago, my 9700 went into constant reboot. I was able to correct this by connecting to DM and reloading the OS (.714). This was the same OS I was previously using. Now, when I do a BP, the progress bar goes all the way to the end and it just freezes. I have to pull the battery again, and reload the same 714 OS from DM. No help from TMO online help, so I thought I would ask here.
View 12 Replies View RelatedI upgraded my bold 9000 to os 5.0.0 last night and it is now in constant reboot cycle. I let it do all it needed to do whilst connected to pc blah blah blah and it now it just reboots all the time. Gets past the loading bar and then goes to the vodafone screen, then screen turns black, red light comes on, over and over and over again. However, when I plug it in to either my mains charger or the pc, it will boot up OK. Any help would be appreciated as it will soon be going out the window!! Or back to the shop.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI bought my BB Curve 9360 last Friday. Today, I installed an app, which turned out to be not-working, so I deleted it right away. Then, the device asked for a reboot - until now it is rebooting. What I see is the Blackberry logo, and the loading bar, accompanied by the red LED in the right upper corner flickering. There is no getting past that screen - once it loads completely, the screen goes dark, and it starts all over again. So inspired by similar problems posted here&in other tech support websites, I decided to download the Desktop Manager and try to update the OS. This is where I got hit by a second time - although it is connected via USB cable, the desktop manager won't recognize the phone as connected, the phone won't show up a selection screen as to what I want to do (storage/sync... etc.) Yet it asked for my device password, which I entered correctly, and could choose the Update option. But while downloading the update, it suddenly stops and tells me to either check my internet connection - which is UP - or try it again later.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI understand lots of people have had the same problem, but I just cannot find a solution which works for my Blackberry 8520!It has a white screen showing nothing, it boots once you put the battery in, and the only way to power it off is to take out the battery, I think it also keeps rebooting.I have replaced the screen - still white screen.I have re-installed the OS - still white screen
View 14 Replies View RelatedHas a Storm and it just shut off on. When I pull the battery, the red light comes on for a few seconds and the screen and buttons light up. Then, it starts over. 20 minutes later and it's still in that same cycle.
It's rocking Verizon's official 5.0 and she doesn't do anything to modify or hack it. I've never encountered this before.
I'm wondering if the OS became corrupt, but we're @ Red Lobster and there's nothing I can do now.
I bought my friends iPhone 3GS 16 gb and since I got it I have had to turn off the phone and then plug it in to start charging it otherwise it wouldn't charge. I thought it was a battery problem so I bought a battery and replaced it. This did nothing, I still had to power off the phone to get it to start charging so I ordered a new charging port with the speaker mic and antenna in one unit. I didn't change it out and just kept turning off the phone to start charging it. Just recently I did this and when I woke up the phone was at 9% so I tried another cord then another power source nothing worked. The phone will show the dead battery and can tell when it's pluged in but won't charge. I could go onto iTunes and do the restore but it still won't charge. I replaced the dock port on the phone and it made no difference. I also tried holding the reset and power button for 10 sec.

I lost my iphone at the weekend, it was powered on & fully charged previously. When I went to track it, it came up as Location not found. Is this because it was powered off by whoever found it.

I have an Iphone 4. It switches off randomly and I am unable to turn it back on even though the battery is still almost full. So I tried to have it connected to the charger and what I saw was a logo which depicts a 3-bar low battery and then to the apple logo and it loops.

My iphone has developed a problem where once I turn off the screen the phone powers itself off. It usually occurs within minutes of turning off the screen. Once this happens the only way to get it to power back on is with a hard reset. If I leave the screen on the phone never powers off. The only way that I have found that will keep the phone on with the screen turned off is if the phone is playing music. I have resorted to putting a song on loop with the volume all the way down in order to keep my phone working. This seems like it must be some kind of software issue, no? I have done a complete reset and restore as well.

Yesterday during school, I had my iPhone 5s turned off, but it turned on by itself so that I could get a reminder notification. a friend of mine with an iphone told me that sometimes her iPhone turns on too if she gets allot of texts or something like that.  How to stop it? I don't want it turning on during school.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI don't know what happened to my phone, it was working fine last night. I went to bed with it fully charged and not plugged in but still on, woke up this morning and plugged it in and got nothing. It won't charge. It was at about 50% battery and when I plugged in the USB cord nothing happens, tried plugging it into the computer still nothing. I've tried using multiple cables, using the stock one which it charged on last night and forever next to my couch fine.
After some troubleshooting I noticed that when I plug it in with it turned off, it does charge. This sucks though, I can't keep my phone off while it charges. Also tried plugging it into the computer while it's turned off and it says USB device not recognized. I plug my phone into my computer all the time so I know it's not a question of the drivers not being installed.
Since a few weeks my iPhone 4 (iOS 5.0.1 and now 5.1) keeps crashing. First it were paniclogs after that memory leaks and now reset counter. What I see is a screen that gets a color (red,blue,...) and reboots.I did a new instal already twice and I deleted all apps I bought after the first crash occurred.

I thought that might solve the problem but it made things much worse. When the phone powered back on it some how reset itself and i've lost all my texts and photos. It will not connect to the internet through media web and all themes and wallpaper settings are gone. I don't know what to do with it short of taking it up to the AT&T store to see if they know what is going on.

View 1 Replies View RelatedLast Friday evening, my phone was at 100% charge. I powered off, turned it back on Saturday night, and it was down to 4%. How would that happen if it was turned off?? Also, I noticed that the browser goes back to the last page I was on. When I used to power off my other smartphones, the browser would start up on the home page. Does this mean it's not really shutting down?
