HTC One M7 :: Phone Only Charging When Powered Off
Jan 4, 2014
I don't know what happened to my phone, it was working fine last night. I went to bed with it fully charged and not plugged in but still on, woke up this morning and plugged it in and got nothing. It won't charge. It was at about 50% battery and when I plugged in the USB cord nothing happens, tried plugging it into the computer still nothing. I've tried using multiple cables, using the stock one which it charged on last night and forever next to my couch fine.
After some troubleshooting I noticed that when I plug it in with it turned off, it does charge. This sucks though, I can't keep my phone off while it charges. Also tried plugging it into the computer while it's turned off and it says USB device not recognized. I plug my phone into my computer all the time so I know it's not a question of the drivers not being installed.
I have a new problem with my Iphone 4 since last 3-4 days. It will only charge when switched off. Also, when connected to the PC, it says "Device not recognized"....
I let my month-old Torch power down completely for the first time. I plugged it in to recharge, and nothing is happening. I went through all the troubleshooting advice on the BB website, and nothing worked. I even tried 2 different chargers. Normally when charging, the device is slightly warm.
My phone was working fine one minute, but the next thing I know it turns off, the led starts blinking blue and the screen refuses to turn on. If I hold the volume button and the power button, the phone vibrates and the led stops blinking indicating that the phone powered off. I can then power it back on and it vibrates and the led starts blinking again indicating it is powered on, but the screen remains completely black and does not show any boot up animations or respond to any touches. As you can probably guess, with an unresponsive display I can't boot into recovery mode or anything.
I took a 21 hr trip w/ no recharge. Battery completely drained. Since then...
-BB will not charge. -I have BB desk manager, have removed battery and replaced, purchased new battery, purchased new a/c cord. -charging does not work via USB to PC, USB to Auto, USB to A/C. any suggestions? -Unit has never been wet, nor dropped. -Carrier is T-Mobile
Having issues with their Nexus 5 not charging, or at the very least charging super slowly?
Mine has been plugged in for about 3 hours and only charged up about 10%. Could it be a teething issue (it's the first charge out of the box) or something worth contacting Google about?
there is no charging symbol to show my phone is charging , the battery life increases but no symbol , im using a wall socket inlet also tried the usb cable as well.
after updating my Bold 9900 tho Firmware 439 (I hope, it will work mith my BMW), I can´t power on the 9900 normally. It doesn´t react in any way, so I have to put out the battery and of course put it back . After that I can power on the device.
I bought my friends iPhone 3GS 16 gb and since I got it I have had to turn off the phone and then plug it in to start charging it otherwise it wouldn't charge. I thought it was a battery problem so I bought a battery and replaced it. This did nothing, I still had to power off the phone to get it to start charging so I ordered a new charging port with the speaker mic and antenna in one unit. I didn't change it out and just kept turning off the phone to start charging it. Just recently I did this and when I woke up the phone was at 9% so I tried another cord then another power source nothing worked. The phone will show the dead battery and can tell when it's pluged in but won't charge. I could go onto iTunes and do the restore but it still won't charge. I replaced the dock port on the phone and it made no difference. I also tried holding the reset and power button for 10 sec.
I lost my iphone at the weekend, it was powered on & fully charged previously. When I went to track it, it came up as Location not found. Is this because it was powered off by whoever found it.
Yesterday I was having trouble connecting to the media web home so I turned the phone off then back on again. I thought that might solve the problem but it made things much worse. When the phone powered back on it some how reset itself and i've lost all my texts and photos. It will not connect to the internet through media web and all themes and wallpaper settings are gone. I don't know what to do with it short of taking it up to the AT&T store to see if they know what is going on.
My HTC one so charging power Off, No charge wall charger and USB mode. My Phone Power Off, charging, the LED turns red, then turns orange, then turns off. And the process is repeated. The LED never turns on green.
While holding Power, Vol Up and Vol simultaneous down, for 2 minutes or nothing happens. After 10 minutes charge. It did not work. I hold the buttons, htc one is restarting.
Already tried to delete batterystatus.bin (data/system/) nothing happens. Applications used to calibrate the battery and unsuccessful.
HTC one m7, 6 months of use. I've tested many cables, original and other brands. I performed factory reset, original rom.
Last Friday evening, my phone was at 100% charge. I powered off, turned it back on Saturday night, and it was down to 4%. How would that happen if it was turned off?? Also, I noticed that the browser goes back to the last page I was on. When I used to power off my other smartphones, the browser would start up on the home page. Does this mean it's not really shutting down?
I have an Iphone 4. It switches off randomly and I am unable to turn it back on even though the battery is still almost full. So I tried to have it connected to the charger and what I saw was a logo which depicts a 3-bar low battery and then to the apple logo and it loops.
Searched for about an hour before starting this thread. If it has been discussed before I apologize in advance. Here is my problem. My Omnia i910 will only charge when powered down. This leads me to believe it is a software issue. When powered down it charges normally. Red light and charging indicator on the screen. When powered up it does nothing. OS is WM6.1 I am using SPB mobile shell as well. Other than a few changes made with "my favorite hacks" several months ago the phone is pretty much as Verizon delivered it.
My iphone has developed a problem where once I turn off the screen the phone powers itself off. It usually occurs within minutes of turning off the screen. Once this happens the only way to get it to power back on is with a hard reset. If I leave the screen on the phone never powers off. The only way that I have found that will keep the phone on with the screen turned off is if the phone is playing music. I have resorted to putting a song on loop with the volume all the way down in order to keep my phone working. This seems like it must be some kind of software issue, no? I have done a complete reset and restore as well.
My Nexus 6 worked for months, but now when the phone is on the screen stays black.
When you start the Nexus 6, the Google logo shows up, the starting animation plays, then the Android text shows.. then the screen goes black. If I hold the power key the "Power Off" dialog opens, I can also take screenshots (of a completely black screen), otherwise nothing shows on the screen.
I took the phone into T-Mobile and they sent me a replacement. After walking through this new phone's setup (adding my Google account, setting up a lock screen) the phone screen went black! Just like the old phone.
Wiping the cache didn't fix anything, but if I factory reset the phone (on either phone), the screen works as it should and goes through the setup process before the screen blacks out again.
I tried not setting a lock screen and the phone still blacks out so I don't think it's lock screen related. I'm starting over again and trying to set the phone up without importing any of my Apps to see if that will change anything.
I've always done system updates when prompted and the phone is not rooted or have custom settings or anything like that.
I just wiped and started over without installing the list of old apps and it still does has this same issue..
'm still early days with my SGS2 so please excuse any 'numpty' questions!1. Is there anyway I can keep my screen illuminated while the fone is externally powered?2. If the above is possible, is there a way in which it can be 'remembered' so I don't have to go through setting each time?
I just had this happen yesterday. I was getting on a flight and powered off my phone. I had about 40% when I powered down. When I got off the flight, my phone wouldn't power up, so I found an outlet and found that I had no power. I know I powered it off, and so why would it be out of juice when it had battery left when I powered down?
I'm really really really frustrated, so I'm going to try to tone this one down.My Motoactv broke 2 months ago. I sent it in for warranty repair, and they replaced it.he replacement unit had a screen issue. When I powered it on, the screen sort of turned on (you could tell that the backlight was working), but nothing else. No Motorola logo...nothing...just blank backlit screen.I returned it again. They said they fixed (not replaced) it.I use it once. I charge it up and turn it on this morning. Same problem. Blank, backlit screen. When I plug it into my computer it detects it, syncs it, updates software...but the screen is still totally black, with the backlight lit up.
Yesterday during school, I had my iPhone 5s turned off, but it turned on by itself so that I could get a reminder notification. a friend of mine with an iphone told me that sometimes her iPhone turns on too if she gets allot of texts or something like that.  How to stop it? I don't want it turning on during school.
When I'm in my car and my BB is powered from the car's lighter socket - HOW? When I get in my car I usually hook my BB up to the car's supply. I'd like the display to stay illuminated - how can I achieve this?
When I plug in my Xoom tablet for charging, the unit will blink the indicator light if it's powered down, or the "Charging (xx%)" and lightning bolt on the battery icon will blink when powered on. It also takes a longer time then normal to charge.
So I have noticed that my Xoom Family Edition has just powered itself off randomly a few times.I go back to the tablet to wake it up, but it is fully powered off. My battery is charged. This has happened about 3 or 4 times since owning it for 3 days.
I'm currently having issues with my nokia n82.when i put in the charger, it doesn't seem to charge my phone. It says "charging", but it doesn't really charge. The battery bar just stays the same.and my warranty just expired...
