Last Friday evening, my phone was at 100% charge. I powered off, turned it back on Saturday night, and it was down to 4%. How would that happen if it was turned off?? Also, I noticed that the browser goes back to the last page I was on. When I used to power off my other smartphones, the browser would start up on the home page. Does this mean it's not really shutting down?

I let my month-old Torch power down completely for the first time. I plugged it in to recharge, and nothing is happening. I went through all the troubleshooting advice on the BB website, and nothing worked. I even tried 2 different chargers. Normally when charging, the device is slightly warm.

When I got off the flight, my phone wouldn't power up, so I found an outlet and found that I had no power. I know I powered it off, and so why would it be out of juice when it had battery left when I powered down?

I am finding that sometimes they add up to within 1% of the total shown.... and sometimes they are WAY off with as much as 30% of the displayed battery drain unaccounted for. Since I don''t have access to the battery terminals, I can't determine independently whether the percentages shown are simply inaccurate, or whether there are missing processes (ie., processes not shown at all in the battery monitor).

I have location, Hey Cortana and most background apps turned off and still get the drain. Also I just noticed while charging it takes forever, but when it get's to 40% it goes up to 100% in less than 10 min.

After 5-6 hours with data activated, no GPS, no WiFi, no Bluetooth the phones turn off (0%) Can't believe that's normal.When i've bought the XPERIA RAY, i've 2 days before my battery goes empty... View 1 Replies View RelatedBasically I charge my phone with the mains charger, everything looks fine, the orange light comes on and the battery symbol in the corner shows that it is charging. I leave it charging overnight, so it's usually plugged in for a good 7 hours, however, when I wake up the next morning the phone isn't fully charged, at best I am on 50% and at worst the battery symbol is yellow.
I've been upgraded to ICS quite a while and have not installed any new apps recently so I am a bit stumped as to what the issue is. I thought maybe it was the battery, but I have since bought a new battery and I get the same issue with this also. A factory reset has also not sorted the issue.
My Sensation XL battery bar is grey and displaying an exclamation mark, it also keeps turning itself off

Sound is too low.
I use my phone all the time so I charge it everynight to ensure a full battery. However I don't want to hurt the overall lifespan of the battery. How often should I let it drain completely to guarantee a good life cycle?
View 24 Replies View RelatedPrevious smart phones I owned turned wifi off when the screen went dead. So essentially wifi didn't really drain any battery and wifi was easier on the battery then 3g when actively pulling down data.
So now I am on a 2gb plan (previously on unlimited) and sensitive to this I keep my wifi on all the times to use my home connection when possible.My battery however is barely getting through a full day. My wife was getting solid days but she had wifi off.Do you think that this is effecting it? I use my phone quite a bit throughout the day.
For the past couple of days I've been having some strange battery problems. I can have my phone on and the battery is at 100%. Then I'll shut it off and turn it back on a few hours later and my battery would drop a significant percentage like 30% or so. It doesn't just do this when the phone is fully charged it will do it when the battery is at any percentage.

Worked fine, put my Tmobile SIM in, made calls, downloaded apps, ect. Plugged it in overnight, got up this morning and took it off the charger at 100%. Leave it sitting and 5hrs later the battery is down to 30%! Wifi, 3g, push, ect ect are all off. Someone please help, I was so excited to get this working and now the battery doesn't even last half a day with no use!

I rely on my phone for business and it can't even make it through a work day! It is draining about 4 times faster than normal. I found a post referencing to 'Reset All Settings' which I tried yesterday, but it still is draining fast. I tried resetting, rebooting, shutting down all apps, but nothing helps.

first thing is, i looked at 3G watchdog thismorning, and my device had been eating 200 MB's of internet WHILE I WAS SLEEPING this is not normal use and i have no clue what caused it (i installed 3g watchdog pro this morning)
second thing is, my android system process seems to be eating away battery life rapidly, its using up to 40% cpu (according to watchdog) and com.htc.bg is using roughly 20% okay, i just saw something happening, i restored a backup, watched my cpu, and then my virus scanner said something about com.android.vending being installed, and i saw my android system process skyrocket in cpu usage
yes, i have rooted my phone, and yes i deleted some system applications (like facebook, htc facebook, and some other crappy useless stuff, nothing that should harm my phone)
The phone was working fine 1.5 days with moderate use .. suddenly it only lasts 6 hours ( stand by) while iam sleeping.. it had more than 70% battery and after 6 hours its empty !! how do i fix that ? without installing 100 programs to reflash the stupid phone

My battery drains MUCH faster now, with UberTwitter being the only app I have open. Are there any tips|tricks or anything in the settings I can tweak to reduce the drain, or is this just the price of the speed boost?

I have had many issues with the new upgrade but the one that is driving me crazy is the battery drain since the upgrade. Previously I got almost 2 days on a full charge, and now I can't get 6 hrs. I put it on GPRS , because i didn't did any browsing on that day and to see how much my battery will last. So after a few phones, sms, emails, I was down to 80% by 10PM. Was very happy with what I saw. In background were running Accuweather and Facebook with update once every 3 hours. Also I have Battery Bost MAX, and an application which shows me battery icon with procentage.(Smart Blndie). I am in an area with good signal. Put the phone in the holster, and went to bed. I was very courios to see what the battery shows. At 6 AM i was shocked : 42%... I can't blame it on the applications, because if there were their fault, my battery should discharge the same over day... GPS is off, wifi is off. The phone has 2 weeks (almost new). I am runing 7.1.0.658 OS.. My screen is at 10%, and turn off over 20 seconds...

I tried reboot. Same. Battery usage shows blinkfeed and android system and android os. No other apps.
Since yesterday (12/20/15) my 950 has been running very hot and the battery drain exceeds 25% per hour. It was fine after the .29 update a few days ago, this just stated happening. I've done all the normal things, turned off a number of background aps, location off, soft resets, no updates occurring that I can find, etc., phone is hot when not being used and very poor battery life.
View 1 Replies View RelatedAs the title says. Went to bed with 75% battery last night. Woke up this morning to a completely dead phone. I had just closed out of all apps before going to bed.
This is unfortunately going to be the straw that broke the camel's back for me. I can't in my right mind pay $600 for a device that I have to keep plugged in all the time.
So when I opened up my battery usage I noticed that Android OS was at 70% usage (69% now in screenshots). I check my battery usage several times throughout the day and Android OS was not consuming 70%. It seemed to spike to 70% consumption, which points to an error in battery usage charts.
The steeper drops at the beginning and toward the end can be attributed to the poor reception areas I was in and my heavier screen on time during those periods. The flat portion in the middle is when I went to bed and left my phone for about 8 hours. Notice there are no huge wake locks during my time off battery.
This is my current screen on time....
I'm guessing this is an error with the battery usage calculator but I'm not completely sure. How to know if this is an error with the battery usage or is Android OS really consuming 70% and how I should fix it?
