I see some specs of dust under the back glass of my iPhone4S. How possibly is that? It seems that the glass is perfectly attached to the back, how could they go there? Is there any solution for me to swap them out or how to prevent more dust going underneath the glass? Since there is no Apple service in my country, so it seems that I have to deal with it?

View 3 Replies View Relatedso in the beginning of march, my little brother (he's 2) was sick and cranky. i watched a couple of videos on Internet with him, but i had to remove my iphone 4 case (speck) because it kept on interferring with my internet connection (not the first time either!!!). that was probably a bad idea, because when i had tried to take the phone from him when someone was calling, he threw it on the floor. it landed on the back, and now the back glass is shattered. the phone works fine, and my stupid case covers the crack, but i really want to know the cost of getting it replaced in canada. i hear its only 29$, but i want to make sure.

I've tried holding the power button, holding power+volume up, and power+both volumes.
All that happens is a mini vibrate every 10 seconds or so (like the vibrate that occurs when the word Google normally appears) but absolutely no light on the screen...it remains black.
About a month ago the screen/digitizer was replaced because the thing had a mind of its own, clicking everywhere randomly. Until today it was working flawlessly. Twice today it started lagging, forcing me to power off/power on. That worked both times, but now this has happened.

Within 2 weeks of purchase I found that there is a manufacturing defect in the phone and because of that defect my phone is getting dust every day inside the phone and on the TFT screen, being a touch screen phone dust hinders in touch screen operations. I went to Nokia care on 27.06.2010 and asked for the replacement and they told me let us check the phone we will forward your request to our Bangalore office, so kindly wait for 10 days. But yesterday I got my phone back in the very same condition even I am sure it's not even been transferred to the concern department for check and rectification because the dust on the screen was as it is.

I carried the phone in my pocket without my leather pouch, and small white partticles (dust) got into the gap between the gap (between the top of screen and below the blackberry sign). It llooks horrible to see white dots in that gap. I tried removing it by nails and blowing on it but had no luck.

I performed the device switch in DM, then upgraded to OS5 (.411 Swedish). My phone number has been replaced by 8s. On my old phone, I had visual voicemail enabled, but not on the new phone because I was getting significant and unpredictable delays between the time to voicemail was apparently left and actually receiving an indication of it being left. I have an 8350i on Nextel and i have loaded OS 5 onto it. (a little background incase you arent aware.. Nextel has not yet released OS 5 but SouthernLinc has and ive been using SouthernLincs version of it for the 8350i for about a month or so with NO issues) I really dont want to have to reload my OS back to 4.6 as there are some major upgrades on 5.0 for the 8350i. You guys think it might be that im running OS 5? I also have the "Boostberry" configuration (aka i have a normal nextel data plan instead of a bb plan) ive had this for about 6 months atleast now without any troubles. So 3 times over the week or so ive turned on my device and had it "register with the network" then i go to compose a sms message or place a call and i get service book not found errors. I reload the service books and it works great for a few days then it happens again. You think its because of running Southernlincs OS 5 thats just not causing me issues or any other ideas of what it may be?? I dont want to downgrade back to 4.6 and spend an hour loading everything just to find out that wasnt my issue.

Its only 2 mm across.It cant be seen with a black screen but you can see it on a white background like the google home page.So I dont think its a pixal problem. I dont see dust on the edges or any where else other then this white dot.Is it dust or something else?

I cracked my 3G screen last week. It was my first time dropping since buying it on day one. I had it in my lap (which i normally never do) while driving and it fell flat on its face when i was getting out. I've already ordered a replacement glass and digitizer since the phone still works perfectly. My problem is that I can now see dust specks accumulating under the glass. What's the safest way to clean the LCD when I'm taking it apart?

Now with the iPhone 4 I have taken even better care of it and it is covered in scratches some seem minor but some seem deep and make it look weird when you look at it with the screen on. Ever since I got my iPhone 4S in December, I've been bothered by what appears to be some sort of etching in the glass. I can't feel it, but it shows up if I "breathe" on the glass. It's fairly large, about 2.5" x 1", I guess. It looks like a camera lens with a fungus that's penetrated the seal inside the lens. I know it isn't a "big deal", but it also kind of annoys me. Does anyone else have a similar issue, or do I stand alone? Is it worth getting an Apple store to check it out and replace the glass if necessary?

A couple of days ago, I noticed that there is dust under the screen of the iPhone. The dust is in the middle of the screen and not that large (circa 2mm), but notable and annoying. I contacted Apple and they came with the following options: Send iPhone to repair (lasts 9-17 days);Exchange the iPhone for a new one, costs 29 euros.
If it appears that the dust comes from outside and not from the factory, I'd have to pay 250 euros in both cases. In view of the fact that I cope well with the iPhone - I always use an iPhone case to protect it and I've never had it in my pocket without the case - it seems to be illogical that the dust is my 'fault'. The inside of the case is made of leather, which doesn't correspond to the dust under the screen. However, I'm not completely sure that the dust comes from the factory, since I noticed it just a couple of days ago.
My question: is it wise to exchange or repair the iPhone, since it creates a large risk? I don't want to pay 250 or 280 euros more, this is 'required' if I decide to exchange or repair it and if Apple can prove that the dust doesn't come from the factory.

I have cracked both the front and the back of my iPhone badly and I'm looking at buying replacement glass for it. I currently have black glass on my iphone and would like to replace it with white.As a result of dropping my phone then cracking the screens, I think I may have damaged the arial, I don't get or have less signal then what I used to, also my phone struggles to pick up wifi even if I am close to the router.
I spoke to my network and they said to get anything internal repair I must get the screens fixed but that is not covered in my warrenty. So I have found replacement glass in white and I am wondering if I change the colour of my iPhone, will I still be able to get my arial fixed in an apple store or by my network? My other option is to claim on my insurance and get a replacement phone that way, however I am unsure if they will due to the cracked screens.Am I better of replacing the screens with new black glass or am I able to change the colour?

Around a week ago I used a friends 'selfie stick'. The same day I was walking around Windsor and noted that the phone had powered down. I tried pressing the power key, but the phone did not turn on. I took the battery out, replaced it and then the phone came back on.
The problem now seems to reoccur when I have put my phone in my back pocket and either walk some distance, or keep it in my back pocket in the car (for some reason).
I was wondering if any iPhone 4 owners with a decent/high quality camera could take a picture of their iPhone 4's with the home screen on. I'd like to see the quality of the Retina Display through the glass via a picture, not some render/homescreen shot.
