Anyone else having trouble getting the earbuds to work? They only produce sound if held in by hand. Tried them on both of our iPhoneS phones and have the same problem with each of them.

My best earbuds do not work properly w. this device.These are the v-Moda vibe duo and they work really well in any device i;ve ever plugged them into.i have 3 of these. I use my phone a real lot for music and the earbuds that come w. the Nuron are cheesy sounding and cheaply made.i thought this device would work fine w. standard earbuds.I;ve tried diff settings.the sound is muted and garbled until I press the speaker button and keep it held and then it sounds great obviously this isnt an option.what gives? does this phone require some proprietary earbuds? if so, that is really lame IMO.

IT CAN HAPPEN WITH ANY PHONE ON ANY NETWORK.I mean it's just absurd what is going on here on these message boards.

I just got a pair of Apple earbuds and have started using them for phone calls. Unlike the bluetooth I'm used to, I'm not able to hear myself on calls and it feels disconcerting. Other people have no trouble hearing me, so it's not an issue of the mic itself not working. Is there some kind of setting for this on my iPhone 5? On OS 7.1.2.

I have two pairs of earbuds, that for some reason or another, have stopped working in respect to the inline volume up/down and microphone functions. The microphone function is in/op as well.

So I was playing a game on my laptop and I had sound so I plugged in my earbuds. After a few hours I accidently pulled them out of my ears I put them back in and noticed that I couldn't hear any sound coming from them. I checked iif they were plugged into my laptop and they were and I made sure that the sound was on.

View 9 Replies View RelatedAfter the 5.1 update, i noticed that videos don't rotate when the phone is held horizontally. also i made a video call and when i rotated the phone the screen became unresponsive and kept going on and off unless when i held the phone in a certain angle which i cant figure out, i dont know if this issue has been there the whole time because the first video call i made on the phone (via skype) was after the update. also when i unlock the screen sometimes the colors fade and become lighter, and the screen itself freezes for 2 seconds.

Can't get any of the keys to respond, unless I hold down either of the following four keys - P/@; del; enter; num lock (all on right side of keyboard). When my hand-held is Activated, it works according to my relative settings. The problem is when I've set a Clock-Alarm time and turned my handhold OFF. When the time comes, the handheld wakes-up (as it should normally do), displays the dialog form regarding the snooze or the alarm termination but there's NO SOUND AT ALL !!. I've searched the community for regarding problems and I've tried to apply to my handheld every potential suggestion like: 1). usage of a build-in simple sound 2). a sound file stored on my handheld's device memory and not onto an external card 3). battery correct physical enforcement 4) and of course, many-many baterry pool outs (for hard reset) !! One of the features I used all the time on my iPhone was the ability to skip forward/back while listening to music (e.g. Pandora, Rhapsody, Music Player, etc.). I'm afraid to ask but am I to understand this functionality does NOT work on this phone/OS??? If so, how can I get around this? I do not want to root the phone nor do I want to be forced to use apps that require me to play music stored on the phone. I have subscriptions to Pandora and Rhapsody for a reason.

Rather suddenly, plugging in my earbuds doesn't shut off external sound and enable the headphones. Thinking I'd screwed up a setting somewhere, I looked all over setup but cannot find anything to enable/disable. Is it me or my phone? Tried different players (I use winamp), different plugs. Did not reset the phone because I've spent considerable time loading and tweaking apps/settings/fonts etc and do not wish to lose all that.

I can be listening to something else (music or a podcast or a phone call) and the volume is fine. But when I issue a Google Now voice command (e.g. What time is it?) I can hardly hear the response. The camera doesn't work. I open the camera application with both methods (button on side and icon in apps) but it does the red dot thing in the corner for about 4-6 seconds then disappears and applications tells me the app is running. I try to go to the app but it wont go on it.
Problem 2:
The green key, dialler and contacts icon on the home screen do not work at all. I have no way of opening my dialler as there is no option for it.
I updated my firmware to v40.0.005 last week. Please be aware the problems were both there BEFORE i made the update and are still here after the update.Is there any way of doing this without soft/hard resetting. Also, does soft/hard reset mean you lose the data in an app (eg your high scores in a game like bagatelle)?
