IPhone :: Can Contact Birthdays Sync To Outlook Via Active-sync
Mar 29, 2012
Is it possible to have Birthdays entered into iOS contacts (which do show up in the iOS calendar) sync to Exchange/Outlook 2010 via activesync? (not using iTunes)
On Thursday evening my Active Sync stopped working all of a sudden. The Calendar and Contacts still work. Is there a log where I can troubleshoot? My IT department will need hard facts ;-)
I have a user who has been using an iPhone 4 for over a year now, and has built up a large list of Contacts on the device. Unfortunately, unlike every other iPhone user, his Contacts have not been sync'ing with Outlook. I know I can go into "Settings", "Mail, Contacts, Calendar", Contacts and "Default Account" and change it here. However, I do not want to lose any of these iPhone Contacts. I would like to be able to back them up, and then sync them into Outlook.
Is there a step by step guide to help me with the best way to do this. I'm not a iTunes guy but if it's the easiest way to sync my contacts with iPhone4 I'll do it. I have lots of mobile and outlook changes to my contacts database?
I have loads of people in my contacts who have signed up on the day for newsletters/specials etc. When a customer asks to be removed from our distribution list, I always cut their contact details from the mobile and email fields and paste into their notes. This way, when I send out an update to everyone on the list, the contact doesn't receive it but I still have their details if they need me to contact them personally. I do this cut and paste on my 5s (OS up to date), on Outlook 2013 (Windows 8.1) and iCloud.Â
The problem I've been having lately is that when I sync my iPhone with iTunes (up to date), it somehow puts the more recent contacts' phone number and email back into the fields on both iPhone and Outlook. I have been doing this for a long time and have quite a few regular customers who opted out a while ago. Their fields are empty and their contact details are in their notes.
Info: iPhone 5s, iOS 7.1.2, Zenbook with Windows 8.1

I would like to sync my MS Outlook contact list to my phone but to do this my computer tells me I need to turn of Wireless Syncronisation. I have followed all the steps a million times and searched my entire phone, there is no mention of wireless synchronization in any of the menus.
I bought the X10 mini pro simply because I love SE phones and I wanted to have my office e-mail with me where ever I go but I have been so disappointed. It's never been possible tp set up my e-mail on the Roadsync application from Android 2.1 there is this error -1002 that I get any time I try to Synchronize my mails and this is getting me crazy; one of the most important reason I bought the the X10 mini pro - get my corporate e-mails is becoming impossible. When it is connected on WiFi, it does sync all my emails but immediately it is switched to 3G all the mails in the inbox disappears and it's not able to sync again.
I have a 9700 Bold.I am running Outlook 2007 on my laptop.I have been synchronizing my contacts in Outlook with my 9700 without issue, using Blackberry Desktop Manager. However, I have now split my contacts within Outlook into two separate folders; one for my personal contacts and one for my business contacts. When I try to synchronize now manually, the Desktop Manager only reads my personal folder contacts and and asks to delete all my business contacts - which have been moved within Outlook out of that folder into the new business folder.Q. How can I set up a second, business, folder on my 9700 so that both folders will be synchronized when I next connect to the Desktop Manager?
I use a Mac laptop at home (older one with Tiger OS) , and PC at work. I do not want to share home info with the work PC but would like to be able to sync my work outlook calendar to my iphone 6.I also do not want my work email on my iphone. Of course the IT guys at work don't like Macs and say this can't be done.Â

We recently upgraded my wife's Blackberry to a Curve 3G 9330. When we try to sync to Outlook (non-Exchange), we encounter an error with the contacts (address book). The Desktop Software simply indicates an "unknown error" - not particularly facilitate. We've narrowed it down to a potentially bad contact record on the Blackberry, but cannot find a way to delete it. The options menu will not come up on the Blackberry for this one record. We've try to sync the device by overwriting the contacts with new data from Outlook, but still get's the same error message. I cannot find any information on erasing/deleting the complete contact list on the Blackberry.
New here and a tad bit upset with my failure to synch the address book. I had it in originally, I used a 'skype out' product to export skype contacts to Outlook, then I usefully synced to Outlook, but had a bunch of repeated addresses. Found a solution to delete address book and to reimport from Outlook. Successfully deleted address book on BB. Tires to sync but now it fails to do so. I have reinstall 1, battery, 2, SIM card, 3 desktop program. The synch starts - to be certain- I even go so far as the option to approve the sync or snot. Then it begins to do the syncing and the countdown of addresses yet to by synced clicks downward, as it should, then there's a 'bink' sound, and then nothing, and I check my BB, and no addresses have moved over. I have tried SEVRAL TIMES even 'syncing all' I have arranged for the synch to be for the addresses only. I have arranged for it to be from the computer to the BB. Hopeless. Extremely frustrated.
Sync'd with Exchange using Outlook 2010 - Sorry, I don't know what the server version of Exchange is.
Outlook shows birthdays in my calendar, as having start and end as 12am, on the same day, correct recurrence patterns, etc.
If I look in iPhone Calendar, 'Day View', nothing is shown. If I look in iPhone Calendar, 'List View', I can see them. I generally live in 'Day View', I expect the birthdays to show up. What can I do, if anything, to make the birthdays show up in 'Day view'?
With my wife, we got 2 BB Curve 8520 and we're now trying to sync both of them with our Outlook 2003 SP3 on XP SP3. Both do the same thing:
1/ First sync goes well, the BB calendar gets filled up, 2/ Everything syncs well during a few days, 3/ One day, the sync tells us it will delete 3000+ elements on Outlook, of course I click Reject and cancel the sync, 4/ I restart OK by synching one-dir from Outlook tp BB, 5/ A few days after, it returns to step 3 and is behaving bad again.
I can't get any durable solution, the only thing I got is a workaround that lasts only a few days.
When I try to sync the contact list from outlook I get the error "unable to read application Data". I can sync my calendar, tasks and memos from Outlook, but for some reason I have problems with the contacts. I have a Curve 8520
For a long time I have just been syncing to outlook on my desktop. Now my job requires that I have wireless sync to the online calendar at work. Only my calendar syncs wirelessly. I can still sync notes, tasks, contacts to outlook.I would like to be able to do at least a one-way sync from device to outlook. I tried temporarily disabling the wireless sync on the calendar, but it didn't work. So, in a nutshell, how can I wirelessly sync to my work calendar, AND desktop sync to outlook at home.
i am just testing this on the domain and i have cofngured my ipad and iphone to download emails from the exchange. I have also installed the MobileAdmin plugin as we have exchange 2003. When i get into the website i can find my devices assinged to my account and i have started a wipe which i am told has been accepted by the device. Now my iPad has a black screen and a busy icon (circle of lines) as if it's doing something, but it's been going for 30minutes so far. How long does it take roughly (iPad2 16gb) Also is there anyway to stop a user from Jailbreaking there company owned iPad apart from contracts and disclaimers etc...
I am trying to connect my exchange email to my iPhone without using active sync. I am able to connect it to the Mac mail program on my MacBook pro with out ay issues. Can this be done on the iPhone? Please instruct.

I just went through and cleaned out my outlook and wanted to sync to my phone. I wanted my outlook to check my phone and delete those that I deleted. But I wanted to keep what I have on my phone.
I have been trying to get my IPhone4S and ITouch to sync with my Outlook calendar on my PC. It used to work just fine. Now I can't get my calendars to sync with either device. I also notice that it is no longer syncing with my music (using the checked songs only option).
